The Cottbus district court issued an arrest warrant on Thursday for a Pakistani who had attacked a young local with a knife the day before for no apparent reason. The police and the public prosecutor announced that the 28-year-old Muslim immigrant was being investigated for attempted murder.
Cottbus is a university city, the second-largest city in the state of Brandenburg, around 125 km southeast of Berlin.
