I fucking hate that excuse. "Well side effects are rare, or tend to be mild." Just like that BS phrase "mostly peaceful protests". As if that's supposed to convince me that it's worth the risk even though ivermectin and other preventive treatments are provably more effective. Like, what if me, my wife, or one of my kids get permanent nerve damage? Or end up dying a week later like that doctor who's immune system completely crashed? And they'll continue to avoid all responsibility or accountability for injuries or deaths.
