Texas And New Mexico Shale Basins Hold 49 Years Worth Of Oil: USGS

The largest oil field in the United States holds as much as 49 years worth of oil at current production rates, according to data from a report released on Thursday by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).

In its first assessment of the Delaware portion of the Permian shale field that spans west Texas and New Mexico, the USGS, which is part of the U.S. Department of the Interior, said it contains about 46.3 billion barrels of oil and 281 trillion cubic feet of natural gas.

The government estimates include all underground shale oil and gas that is technically recoverable but may not be economic to extract at current prices.

The estimate is twice the size of the country’s next largest shale reserve – the Midland Basin – another portion of the Permian. In 2016, that was found by the USGS to have about 20 billion barrels of oil and 16 trillion cubic feet of natural gas.

Survey results “demonstrate the impact that improved technologies such as hydraulic fracturing and directional drilling have had on increasing the estimates,” said Walter Guidroz, an official in the USGS Energy Resources Program. Hydraulic fracturing forces water and sand underground at high pressure to free oil and gas trapped in shale rock.

The Permian Basin, which includes both shale regions, is expected to pump 3.7 million barrels of crude oil per day this month, up 30 percent from a year ago, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.

The Delaware and Midland basins combined would take 49 years to produce if all the oil was...

DOJ DECLINED PROSECUTION OF SENIOR OFFICIAL ACCUSED OF SEXUAL ASSAULT AGAINST SUBORDINATE

The Department of Justice (DOJ) declined prosecution of a senior agency official who allegedly sexually harassed female subordinates, sexually assaulted another, and lied about it to the DOJ’s office of the inspector general.

The official, who worked with DOJ’s Office of Justice Programs, is not identified in a summary of a report released Tuesday by the Office of the Inspector General (OIG). The official retired from office, the report states.

The OIG, which is led by Michael Horowitz, claims it substantiated the official:

  • “Sexually harassed one subordinate when he pressured her into a sexual relationship with him in exchange for a promotion;
  • Sexually harassed another subordinate when he made repeated verbal sexual advances to her and ultimately sexually assaulted her; and
  • Sexually harassed two other subordinates by engaging in sexually inappropriate conduct toward them.”

The inspector general also found during the investigation the official allegedly had a long-term sexual relationship with a subordinate and might have supervised her performance evaluations.

The OIG determined the official’s actions “constituted ethical misconduct, sexual harassment, and sexual assault,” all of which violated the law, federal regulations and DOJ policy. Investigators asserted the boss-employee dynamic of the relationship “undermined the consensual nature of their personal relationship.”

The official also lacked candor in his statements to the OIG, according to the report.

It is not entirely clear why prosecution of the official was declined and whether an investigation was referred to local or state authorities. The DOJ prosecutes crimes that occur in Washington, D.C., where the DOJ’s headquarters are located.

It is also not clear whether the official receives a pension from his...

Lewandowsky: In Mueller probe only Trump supporters go to jail, ‘Hillary people get immunity’

Injustice: Former 2016 Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski underscored the fact that there are still two justice systems in America during an interview with Fox Business Wednesday, noting that only “Trump supporters” have been going to jail while “Hillary Clinton people” are given immunity.

In an interview with Trish Regan, Lewandowski discussed special counsel Robert Mueller’s ongoing probe and in particular, his filing earlier this week regarding POTUS Trump’s first national security adviser Michael Flynn, much of which was redacted.

Lewandowski pointed out that initially, according to what the country was told, Mueller was to look at “collusion” between the Trump campaign and Moscow.

“We now know is that there was none of that,” he said, adding that “the only campaign that took money out of their campaign coffers and paid it to a foreign entity was the Clinton campaign.”

He noted that the Mueller investigation needs to come to an end “quickly” and that the American ought to be able to see the unredacted material the special counsel filed in court on Tuesday, which hinted that Flynn had...

Smoking Gun Proof Might Damn James Comey, FBI & Possibly the DOJ

If what James Solomon of the Hill is saying is true, James Comey, the FBI, and possibly the DOJ corrupted the FISA court process to get Donald Trump. Some of the motives appear to be based on hate. If the information is accurate, the FISA court abuse is extremely serious. Don’t forget this is a secret court that is probably not even constitutional. It operates without oversight or accountability and the judges are partisans.

If what James Solomon of the Hill is saying is true, James Comey, the FBI, and possibly the DOJ corrupted the FISA court process to get Donald Trump.

PROOF WAS FOUND IN A HIDDEN EMAIL CHAIN

A long email chain that included James Comey and key Russia probe investigators is a damning bit of evidence against the former FBI Director according to House Intelligence sources who spoke with John Solomon. It has only recently been obtained.

The documents are classified and House Intelligence Committee Chair Devin Nunes added this chain of emails to the other 12 documents he wants de-classified.

In early to mid-October of 2016, the emails show potential abuses of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) that the majority of members of Congress have not been allowed to see as they investigate FISA abuse.

This point in October was BEFORE they obtained the FISA warrant to spy on Carter Page, a Trump campaign adviser.

THE SMOKING GUN

The FBI had concerns about the dossier but did not reveal them to the court

The communications show the FBI knew there were serious intelligence community concerns about the reliability of the main evidence used to support it, namely the Christopher Steele dossier.

The FBI has continually said they didn’t know this before they secured the warrant.

They knew about Steele talking with media confidentially

They also knew Steele, the former MI6 operative, was contacting news media reporters before the FISA warrant was secured.

The FBI has lied and said they fired him once they knew and it was AFTER they obtained the warrant.

It is important to note that Steele was feeding the dossier information to Yahoo reporter Michael Isikoff who thenpublished it. These stories were then used as corroborating information to get the warrant, creating circular intelligence without the FISA court judge knowing. The FBI repeatedly lied about it. It is a forbidden tactic in order to secure a FISA warrant.

COMEY IS PROMINENT IN THE CHAIN OF EMAILS

What is very important to know is Jim Comey was in the middle of all the emails. He will be questioned by the House intel committee behind closed doors on Friday.

The FBI and possibly DOJ has been lying all along. They hid for months from the public that Steele had been paid by...
