Presidential hopeful wants Finland out of EU, says nationalists will bounce back
HELSINKI (Reuters) - Finland will leave the European Union and position itself as the Switzerland of the north to protect its independence if Laura Huhtasaari, the presidential candidate of the eurosceptic Finns Party has her way.
She also told Reuters in an interview she wants to tighten immigration rules.
Huhtasaari -- dubbed "Finland's Marine Le Pen" after France's National Front leader -- is a long-shot. But she believes she has a real chance in the January election as her party has taken a fresh start following its removal from the coalition government in June.
"The rise in Europe of parties that are critical towards the EU and immigration is due to bad, unjust politics," she said. "The role for Finland in the euro zone is the role of a loser and payer...
"I do not want Finland to become a province of EU, Finns must stand up for Finland's interests."
The Finns Party, formerly called "True Finns", rose from obscurity during the euro zone debt crisis with an anti-EU platform, complicating the bloc's bailout talks with troubled states.
It expanded into the second-biggest parliamentary party in 2015 and joined the government, but then saw its support drop due to compromises in the three-party coalition.
This June, the party picked a new hard-line leadership and got kicked out of the government, while more than half of its lawmakers left the party and formed a new group to keep their government seats.
Huhtasaari, 38, who was picked as deputy party leader in June, said voters were still confused after the split-up but that the party would eventually bounce back.
"The game is really brutal. The biggest parties want us to disappear from the political map. No-one is in politics looking for friends."

House Bill Would Name Those Who Have Used Taxpayer Funds to Settle Sex Harassment Claims
Legislation introduced by Rep. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) last month would require the Congressional Office of Compliance to submit to Congress the names of those members who have used taxpayer funds to settle sexual harassment claims, require the members to reimburse the U.S. Treasury, and void non-disclosure agreements so victims can tell their stories.
The “Congressional Accountability and Hush Fund Elimination Act,” introduced by DeSantis on Nov. 30, currently has 88 co-sponsors.
"What does it say about the sincerity of Congress in combatting harassment when members and staff can have taxpayers cover for their misconduct while keeping it all secret?,” DeSantis said in a statement. “This legislation will protect taxpayers by making congressional settlement data public, barring tax dollars from being used to bail out congressional misconduct and requiring reimbursement of the treasury by members and staff who have had taxpayer-financed settlements paid on their behalf. The bill will also allow victims to speak publicly about harassment suffered irrespective of any non-disclosure agreements.”
According to the bill, “Not later than 30 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Office of Compliance shall submit to Congress and make available to the public on the Office’s public website a report on all...

Time to End Mueller’s Wild Reign of Malfeasance?
Since before President Trump’s election, what appears to be a very large cabal at the US Federal Bureau of Investigation has been active in the planning and implementation of its coup d’état against Donald J. Trump should he win the US presidency. Said policy would, ostensibly, be activated—when and just in case Mr. Trump was elected—by what Deputy Assistant Directors of the Federal Bureau of Investigation Andrew McCabe and Peter Strzok (one of the Mueller-hired biased-against-Trump investigators who also referred to Trump voters being smelly Walmart shoppers and many more vile ‘observations’ in emails sent to Strzok’s lover Lisa Page). Mr. Trump was elected. The investigation of Trump’s incoming team began.
Highly-sexualized, inflammatory, disturbing and now debunked “dossier”
Based upon a highly-sexualized, inflammatory, disturbing and now debunked “dossier” created and provided by former MI6 British Agent Christopher Steele and commissioned and paid for by Hillary Rodham Clinton and her team—was used in an attempted takedown of then President-elect Trump. Note: According to Forbes, the plot was launched within 24 hours after Trump’s election. Virtually all of Mueller’s team-against-Trump is comprised of Hillary Clinton Democrat donors and/or those who have rabidly supported her. One notable is Justin Cooper who actually admitted to destroying evidence that would likely have been gained against Hillary Clinton by—on at least two occasions—destroying her cell phones and “breaking them in half or hitting them with a hammer!” Another of the Mueller nightmare team—Aaron Zebley—was the attorney who represented Cooper. Yet, another Mueller investigator—Jeannie Rhee—has strong ties to the (supposedly) dismantled ‘Clinton Foundation’ and personally represented Ben Rhodes. Bre Payton of The Federalist writes: “Rhee also served as the personal attorney for Ben Rhodes, a deputy national security adviser for President Barack Obama who infamously bragged about lying to reporters to dupe lawmakers and the public into supporting the Iran Deal.” Rhee also represented The Clinton Foundation. On top of these, the Mueller team is comprised of other Hillary donors with Rhee, alone, having given over $16,000 to Democrats and the legally allowed limits to both of Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaigns.
Then we have the pièce de résistance member of the Mueller malevolent team and the man who, almost, single-handedly destroyed Enron, Arthur Andersen Consulting and Merrill Lynch. Andrew Weisman has a long and allegedly sordid career of lying, not producing exculpatory information to defense attorneys and the courts and being overturned by higher courts…including SCOTUS. Weisman was instrumental in sending...

THE MUSLIM TERRORIST WHO HATED CHRISTMAS
Religious freedom means keeping terrorists out.
Akayed Ullah, a Bangladeshi Muslim living in Brooklyn, really hated Christmas. He hated Christmas so much that he used Christmas tree lights (along with a battery and some wire) as a trigger for a pipe bomb. He filled the pipe bomb with screws so that when it went off, metal shrapnel would tear bloody holes through morning commuters in Manhattan.
Wearing a hooded jacket and a backpack to cover the pipe bomb strapped to his body, Ullah got on the F Train at the 18th Avenue elevated subway station off Little Bangladesh. Like the Duke Ellington song says, he switched over to the A Train at Jay Street. It was early morning, but there were plenty of people riding the train. Jay Street is a major transit hub. But Ullah was waiting to blow up somewhere else.
He got off in the crush at the 42nd-St. Port Authority station. Here a whole lot of people can be found rushing up and down crowded staircases and shoving their way through cramped corridors.
Ullah took the long underground corridor that runs between the Port Authority station and Times Square. He strode past movie and beauty ads. He walked under the discouraging poem, “Overslept, So tired, If late, Get fired, Why bother? Why the pain? Just go home. Do it again.” But he wasn’t going home. And there would be no opportunities to do it again. The Muslim terrorist was...
Chuck Grassley Demands More Transparency from Robert Mueller as Pressure Grows
Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) increased the pressure on FBI Special Counsel Robert Mueller Thursday, calling on him to be more transparent amid questions over anti-Trump text messages from a top FBI investigator.
“I’ve got some advice for Mueller, but I’ve still got confidence in the work he’s doing, because I know him as an individual,” Grassley told reporters, according to Bloomberg News. “But he could help himself a lot by being more transparent.”
Grassley is the latest Republican to pile more pressure on Mueller amid a growing controversy over instances of bias in the FBI and the Department of Justice. That controversy has centered around text messages sent in 2016 between top investigator Peter Strzok and fellow official Lisa Page, with whom Strzok was having an affair.
“I cannot believe Donald Trump is likely to be an actual, serious candidate for president,” Page texted Strzok in March 2016. In another, she describes Trump as a “loathsome human being.”
In August, Strzok texted Page, “I want to believe the path you threw out for consideration in [Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe’s] office that there’s no way he gets elected — but I’m afraid we can’t take that risk. It’s like an insurance policy in the unlikely event you die before you’re 40.”

Here Are The Top Five Most Insane 2017 Professor Tweets
Remaining mostly unscathed from Twitter’s censorship, progressives have rampaged the platform with tweets inciting violence and expressing anti-white racism during 2017.
Despite their prestige, professors often occupied the front lines of social media left-wing lunacy, with tweets inciting violence against President Donald Trump and Republicans, blaming white people for the Las Vegas massacre, and noting how completely okay they would be if Education Secretary Betsy DeVos were sexually assaulted. Without further ado, here are the top five most insane professor tweets from 2017.
5. Prof Suggests Hurricane Harvey Is “Instant Karma” For Texas Republicans
“I don’t believe in instant Karma but this kinda feels like it for Texas,” tweeted University of Tampa professor Kenneth L. Storey during Hurricane Harvey. “Hopefully this will help them realize the GOP doesnt [sic] care about them.”
The University of Tampa fired the sociology professor after the remark, saying “we condemn the comments and the sentiment behind them, and understand the pain this irresponsible act has caused.”
4. Prof Says He’d “Be OK” If DeVos Were Sexually Assaulted
“I’m not wishing for it…but I’d be ok if #BetsyDeVos was sexually assaulted,” said Robert Ranco, an Austin Community College professor.
The paralegal studies adjunct professor resigned from his position at a law firm a few days later, with his employer stating “I wasn’t going to make a rash decision about a member of this family just to appease people on social media…that said, I considered the health of everyone in our organization, promised my partners and my employees that we would act according to the values of our firm, and sat down to speak with Mr. Ranco.”
Austin Community College distanced itself from Ranco’s remark and the professor himself later called it “harsh” and deleted both the tweet and his account.
3. Prof Wishes Someone “Would Just Shoot [Trump] Outright”
“Trump is a f***ing joke,” tweeted Kevin Allred, a professor famous for teaching a course on Beyoncé. “I wish someone would just shoot him outright.”
Montclair State University had previously hired the professor, but Allred reported that the school fired him after the tweet and before he had even begun teaching.
“It’s funny cuz [sic] in my interview [Montclair State was] super excited about me being young, hip, and calling out power,” Allred said. “Guess not in practice, huh?”
2. Prof Says Vegas Massacre “Is What Happens When” White People “Don’t Get What They Want”
“White people and men are told that they are entitled to everything,” said Drexel University professor George Ciccariello-Maher. The Vegas massacre “is what happens when they don’t get what they want.”
Drexel University placed the tenured politics professor on leave following the remark, citing threats received by Ciccariello-Maher and concern about the university community’s safety. The school has since allowed Ciccariello-Maher to resume teaching classes, but only in an online capacity.
Ciccariello-Maher, a self-professed communist, received waves of support following his ban from campus, with students, fellow professors, and academic organizations demanding that Drexel fully reinstate him.
“Get back to me when I’m #1,” Ciccariello-Maher said when The Daily Caller News Foundation reached out to him for comment on his receipt of this distinction.

LIMBAUGH: Lisa Bloom Soliciting Cash To Pay Trump Accusers Is Not Far From Offering Women Money To Make Up Stories
RUSH: John Solomon, Alison Spann had at TheHill.com: “A well-known women’s rights lawyer” Lisa Bloom, the daughter of Gloria Allred “sought to arrange compensation from donors and tabloid media outlets for women who made or considered making sexual misconduct allegations against Donald Trump during the final months of the 2016 presidential race, according to documents and interviews.”
Now, let’s be clear what this story says. The story says that Lisa Bloom “sought to arrange … for women who” would come forward and accuse Trump of sexual harassment, to be paid by either tabloid media or donors, in order to get them to come forward. She offered “to sell alleged victims’ stories to TV outlets in return for a commission for herself, arranging a donor to pay off one Trump accuser’s mortgage and attempting to secure a six-figure payment for another woman who ultimately declined to come forward after being offered as much as $750,000…”

FBI Executives Caught In Coordinated Conspiracy To Exonerate Clinton
Evidence has emerged that top FBI officials successfully coordinated a conspiracy to exonerate Hillary Clinton during the email investigation.
The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee has discovered that edits made to former FBI Director James Comey’s statement absolving Hillary Clinton for transmitting classified information over an unsecured, private email server went far beyond what was previously known, as detailed in a letter from committee chairman Sen. Ron Johnson to FBI Director Christopher Wray.
Zerohedge.com reports: The letter reveals specific edits made by senior FBI agents when Deputy Director Andrew McCabe exchanged drafts of Comey’s statement with senior FBI officials, including Peter Strzok, Strzok’s direct supervisor, E.W. “Bill” Priestap, Jonathan Moffa, and an unnamed employee from the Office of General Counsel (identified by Newsweek as DOJ Deputy General Counsel Trisha Anderson) – in what was a coordinated conspiracy among top FBI brass to decriminalize Clinton’s conduct by changing legal terms and phrases, omitting key information, and minimizing the role of the Intelligence Community in the email investigation. Doing so virtually assured that then-candidate Hillary Clinton would not be prosecuted.
Also mentioned in the letter are the immunity agreements granted by the FBI in June 2016 to top Obama advisor Cheryl Mills and aide Heather Samuelson – who helped decide which Clinton emails were destroyed before turning over the remaining 30,000 records to the State Department. Of note, the FBI agreed to destroy evidence on devices owned by Mills and Samuelson which were turned over in the investigation.

US Climate Scientists Emigrating to France
Good Riddance!
French government broadcaster France24 claims President Macron’s offer of fifty grants is luring climate scientists away from the US to work in France.
Eighteen climate scientists, 13 of them based in the United States, were on Monday named the first beneficiaries of the research grants linked to French President Macron’s “Make Our Planet Great Again” project, which will see them relocate to France.
“The selected projects are of very high standards and deal with issues that are particularly important,” the jury said in a statement, noting its members had received a total of 1,822 applications, of which 1,123 came from the US. A second round of laureates will be announced “during the course of the spring of 2018”, it said.
In all, a total of 50 research grants will be handed out, lasting a minimum of three years and worth between €1 million and €1.5 million each. Thank you for your answer to this first call, your decision to move and come to Paris. Here you have a hub to do more.
Among Monday’s 18 laureates were senior researchers from prestigious US universities, including Venkatramani Balaji from Princeton, Nuria Teixido from Stanford University and Louis Derry from Cornell University. Although the vast majority of the laureates are currently based in the US, they also include researchers from Canada, India, Italy, Poland and Spain.
…
I don’t believe most climate research and government sponsored energy projects yield sufficient benefit to justify public funding, but it is possible to oppose public funding, yet still feel sorry for people who are about to lose their jobs.
If France is happy to step into the breach, who are we to argue? The French people set their own priorities. I’m glad US climate scientists on the brink of losing their funding have other options.
US climate scientists worried about their financial future should accept the...
Cologne To Distribute ‘Tolerance’ Wristbands to Combat New Year’s Eve Sex Attacks
OMG Of Course! This Should Definitely Work!
The city of Cologne has announced they will be handing out “respect” wristbands to encourage understanding between individuals on New Year’s Eve and prevent the kind of sex attacks that occurred in 2015.
The wristbands are part of a new campaign called “respect” which is sponsored by the city government and controversial Cologne Mayor Henriette Reker. Many have slammed Reker and the campaign on social media likening it to comments she made shortly after the 2015 attacks calling on women to keep men at “arm’s length”, Kronen Zeitung reports.
At a press conference, Reker said that the campaign would focus on telling people not to sexually attack others or shoot fireworks at individuals, buildings or police. The wristbands themselves are meant to inform others to be respectful when approaching the wearer and prevent potential sex attacks.
On social media, some users reacted to the move with scorn and criticism. One user asked the city of Cologne and Mayor Reker, “What are you doing? Is this appeasement, a gesture of submission or the self-stigmatizing of a culture that is surrendering?”
On New Year’s Eve around 3,000 police are expected to be on duty in Cologne as well as 400 employees from private security firms to maintain order.

Cologne police chief Uwe Jacob said, “We expect a similar occurrence as in the previous year,” and noted that police were prepared for drunken party-goers adding, “I do not care about the nationalities of the revellers, with all due respect. The rules apply to everyone.”
Last year the Cologne police dramatically increased their presence and the level of security around the central Cathedral which led to a rapid decline of sexual and violent...
Trey Gowdy says FBI agents were ‘conspiring’ and ‘plotting’ against Trump being elected
Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) reviewed his questioning of Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein on Wednesday, adding that it appeared that three FBI officials were “conspiring or plotting” to decide the election.
Here’s what he said:
“This is a really bad fact pattern,” Gowdy said of the revelations about bias at the FBI and Justice Department.
“I hate it for Rod Rosenstein that he’s the one explaining it because he’s not [FBI official] Peter Strzok, and he’s not [Deputy FBI Director] Andy McCabe, and he’s not [former FBI Director] Jim Comey, so he’s having to do a little bit of clean up,” he explained. “But these are really bad facts if you care about an impartial, objective Department of Justice and FBI.”
“I’m still trying to figure out why three FBI agents are discussing politics in the Deputy Director’s office, because you’re not supposed to discuss politics on federal ground and FBI agents aren’t supposed to engage in politics for Hatch Act reasons,” he added.
Gowdy was referring to texts that show Strzok talking about an “insurance policy” against Trump winning the 2015 election. The text was in a trove of interactions obtained by the media and released Tuesday.
Predicts McCabe will be fired
Gowdy went on to say that he would be surprised if Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe were not fired from his position within the week.
“But the notion that three bureau agents would be conspiring or plotting on how to handle the outcome of a presidential election is the opposite of what you want in an objective, dispassionate, neutral FBI,” he explained.
