They used to say the same thing about "Saturday Night Specials". They were cheap, dangerous guns that would blow up in your hands, but somehow, they were the choice of criminals.
Going along with that, didn't you produce a one shot 'liberty pistol'- the idea being that you killed an enemy soldier with it and then took their gun and ammo? Also (just saying) the STEN gun was eventually cut down to just 42 parts (?) and designed to be made in a very small workshop.
