Well, I started long term food and water storage early last year.We already had a fairly good stock of food, water, and medical stuff in our "earthquake supplies". We had food and water for 4 people for a month.Now we have all that, and more, for 4 people for about 6 months, and the kids are moving to Colorado in May, so we should be pretty well set.
