Ninety miles from the South Eastern tip of the United States, Liberty has no stead. In order for Liberty to exist and thrive, Tyranny must be identified, recognized, confronted and extinguished.
An interesting notion. What happens to that which becomes obsolete? The truth is rather simple. Look at the example given, horses.
While not through automation, man has been in this situation before. If one has any understanding of, and belief in, the bible, men were down to Noah and sons, no mention of the daughter in laws. If seen in this light, perhaps one would suggest that God would act again. The covenant only stated that God would not use a flood again, it did not indicate that He would not bring disaster again. There are a number of natural and manmade events that would stop any such theory from becoming realized. Yeah, back to the grind. We simply won't be allowed to make ourselves obsolescent. For... good or ill. Or, that is how I see it.
If nothing else, do you honestly think a quarter, but more an half or more, of the population, is going to simply... what... quit? Lay down and die? The hungrier they get, the more terrible their retribution. Men may not always be the greatest of beings, but they are a terrible force when push comes to shove. Either way, my faith, and God, is greater than any secular certainty. I used to be secular. Until God challenged me, my tech, my numbers, and my certainties, to a fair fight. One in which I had no chance, as I understand things now.

This is the problem with the not having of a frontier.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, this is the time to reopen the space frontier.
