Ninety miles from the South Eastern tip of the United States, Liberty has no stead. In order for Liberty to exist and thrive, Tyranny must be identified, recognized, confronted and extinguished.

Donald Vs The DC Machine – Everybody Hates Trump But The Voters (IFL Sept 20, 2015)
GOP presidential hopeful Donald Trump is a lifetime member of the NRA and a concealed carry permit holder who believes the advantages an armed citizenry provides to America are so evident as to be beyond “debate.”
In a recent interview with Ammoland, Trump said:
I am a Life Member of the NRA and am proud of their service in protecting our right to keep and bear arms. The NRA’s efforts to stop dangerous, gun-banning legislation and regulation is invaluable. The media focus on those efforts overshadows the great work the NRA does on behalf of safety and conservation.
He went on to talk about this “permit to carry” in New York and said, “I know firsthand the challenges law-abiding citizens have in exercising their Second Amendment rights.”
Except when he ran for President as a reform party member a couple of elections ago and he proposed longer waiting periods, and an assault weapons ban. Or when he was donating to the Clinton Foundation, or to Charlie Rangel, or to Frank Lautenberg. Trump is, a self admitted, opportunist. He is for gun control when it suits him and against it when it suits him. He certainly wasn't ideologically heart broken when he was stumping for Bloomberg, who made all the "challenges" Trump knows first hand.
But that isn't even my major issue with Trump. He isn't an honest broker and he has absolutely no idea what he is doing. I can understand anger at guys like Bush (I don't know how he ended up in the nomination process in the first place), Boehner, and McConnell (who thankfully aren't running). I share an unbelievable anger at the establishment and its seeming willingness to roll over for President Obama (I mean we aren't even passing bills because the President might veto them, really?!?). But the solution is not to nominate the only major candidate who loses to Hillary Clinton.
I want to repeat that. The only candidate that loses to Hillary Clinton.
Trump is a guy who regularly gives to democrats, attends democrat functions, is personal friends with democrats, and has run as a democrat. Are we really expecting him to magically become a principled conservative?
If you want someone who has fought the establishment, I'm with you, why is Cruz not your guy? He stands for all the things Trump claims to. Has voted for those conservative issues, been made a mockery of in the MSM for actively fighting to stop Obama, speaks eloquently, and does better against any Democrat contender than does Trump.
Actually Cruz is "my guy", my second favorite guy, Scott Walker, has left the building. What I like about Trump, is that he is fighting and winning against the Political Correctness from the left and the establishment from the right. I would take Trump before Jeb Bush any day. I also don't fault a guy for being a smart businessman. When government picks the winners, you have to be in bed with government.
"What I like about Trump, is that he is fighting and winning against the Political Correctness from the left and the establishment from the right. I would take Trump before Jeb Bush any day."
I agree. I think our differences are pretty much minor. I do, personally, dislike how crude Trump is, I think it hurts the Conservative brand, but that is relatively minor and certainly doesn't make me like Jeb or Boehner any more.
Seriously though, I do really like your blog, keep it up and if you ever need any help.
He's a lot better than Jeb Bush or Lindsey Graham.
ReplyDeleteTHE TRUMP TRAIN NEEDS A FLAT TAX
ReplyDeleteOdd that we would see support for Mr. Trump here. He is, after all, in favor of sweeping gun control, including an assault weapons ban.
