Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL) militants raped four women and then stoned them for adultery in Mosul, Iraq.
“The four victims were arrested earlier on [W]ednesday in a raid by ISIS jihadis,” stated Raafat Zarari, spokesman of the Nineveh Media Center. “The jihadis claimed to have captured the women while committing adultery.”
A Sharia court operated by the Islamic State sentenced the women to death.
“The four women were stoned to death on Thursday in front of a large crowd of people in central Mosul,” continued Zarari.
The sentence did not mention the men who raped the women, who, it can be assumed also committed “adultery” if they were married when the rape took place.
