‘Extreme Vetting’ Is Extremely Overdue

Donald Trump’s speech last week on the threat of radical Islam included a section about immigration policy that has the usual suspects in a tizzy. This section focused not on terrorism, but rather on what Andy McCarthy calls the “grand jihad,” the importation of Islamist ideology that rejects our constitutional order and open society.

In his trademark manner, Trump departed from the prepared text to Archie Bunker-ize the speech by calling this “extreme vetting,” which is not the phraseology you should use once you’ve won the nomination and are trying to persuade the middle-of-the-road voter in Ohio and Florida. But rather than calling for body-cavity searches, as this label might suggest, he was instead calling for ideological/values screening, with the commonsense goal that “we should only admit into this country those who share our values and respect our people.” He explained:

In addition to screening out all members or sympathizers of terrorist groups, we must also screen out any who have hostile attitudes towards our country or its principles — or who believe that Sharia law should supplant American law. Those who do not believe in our Constitution, or who support bigotry and hatred, will not be admitted for immigration into the country.

It takes an Ivy League education to object to using our borders to keep out Jew-haters, gay-killers, and apostate-stoners. And, sure enough, in the Washington Post, Politico, and elsewhere, a passel of experts tells us that this is crazy, illegal, unconstitutional, and various other adjectives.

Questions about the practical implementation of such a proposal are legitimate, if overblown. Trump obviously didn’t go into detail about the specific bureaucratic means of trying to screen out enemies of our constitutional order, but there are a number of ways to go about it. The first thing to keep in mind is that Trump’s speech referred to immigrants, not visitors, who are much more numerous. As I wrote in December, if a tourist from Saudi Arabia or business traveler from Pakistan think it’s good to behead blasphemers, that doesn’t really matter to us because they’re just passing through and not joining our society. But people being granted permanent residence — or even long-term “temporary” status, such as foreign students or H-1B workers — are joining our society, and we have a responsibility to keep them out if they reject our ...

Trump Leading Clinton Nationally 44.2% to 43.6% According to New Poll

With 2,463 voters counted, Donald Trump now leads Hillary Clinton nationally 44.2% to 43.6%, according to the daily USC Dornsife/Los Angeles Times “Daybreak” poll.

Good for Trump, but not great overall.

He’s just barely coming out on top with a few months to go over a woman who has been a disaster at every political position she’s held.

Hillary failed as a senator and as secretary of state, but for some reason she could still potentially wind up being the 45th president of the United States.

(44th really, since Grover Cleveland was 22nd and 24th.)

From Breitbart:

Donald Trump leads Hillary Clinton in the USC Dornsife/Los Angeles Times “Daybreak” poll for the first time since Aug. 3 — the last day he had an edge on the former secretary of state.

Although the race remains too close to call, Trump is roughly half a point in front of Clinton, 44.2 percent to 43.6 percent.

Crooked Hillary Redefines "Charitable Donation"

ABC and NBC's evening newscasts on Thursday barely mentioned the Clinton Foundation's announcement that it would stop accepting foreign and corporate donations if Hillary Clinton is elected president. ABC's World News Tonight set aside 25 seconds of air time to the news at the end of a full report on the Donald Trump campaign preparing for the billionaire's first presidential debate with Hillary Clinton. NBC Nightly News devoted 26 seconds to the story immediately before a minute and half-long segment on the Clinton campaign blasting "conspiracy theories" about the Democrat's health.

CBS Evening News didn't cover the story until Friday. However, unlike its competitors at ABC and NBC, the program aired a full report on the Clinton Foundation's move that lasted one minute and 42 seconds. [video below]

The Crooked Connection Between The Clinton Foundation, Loretta Lynch And Khizr Khan

In 1999, President Clinton appointed her to lead the office as United States Attorney—a post she held until 2001.  In 2002, she joined Hogan & Hartson LLP (now Hogan Lovells) as a partner in the firm’s New York office.  While in private practice, Ms. Lynch performed extensive pro bono work for the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda, established to prosecute those responsible for human rights violations in the 1994 genocide in that country.  As Special Counsel to the Tribunal, she was responsible for investigating allegations of witness tampering and false testimony.

Dear Unemployed Artists: Thank You For Not Creating Statues Of A Naked Crooked Hillary...

That would be a horrific sight.
Your restraint is a gift to mankind.
We NEVER want to see Hillary Clinton naked. Never Ever.
Just the thought of it makes me.....oh!

Sorry, I could not help myself, just thinking of that image...
Don't Look!

So the recently released emails show that Hillary Clinton wears adult diapers.
They would have to take those off too... oh no!

It would be unsafe to even let your animals see the sight, wait, no!

Anyways... Thank you unemployed, leftist artists for sparing humanity.

DEATH DRONES China building cruise missiles powered by killer artificial intelligence

Terrifying new 'fire and forget' weapons will use robotic technology to steer themselves toward a target.

China is developing a new range of killer cruise missiles fitted with technology which will effectively turn them into killer robots.

Dubbed “death drones”, the missiles will use artificial intelligence (AI) to guide themselves in flight and potentially even choose new targets.

Wang Changqing, director of the General Design Department of the Third Academy of the China Aerospace Science and Industry Corp, told China Daily that his country was leading the world in the development of AI weapons.

He said: “We plan to adopt a ‘plug and play’ approach in the development of new cruise missiles, which will enable our military commanders to tailor-make missiles in accordance with combat conditions and their specific requirements.

“Moreover, our future cruise missiles will have a very high level of artificial intelligence and automation.

“They will allow commanders to control them in a real-time manner, or to use a fire-and-forget mode, or even to add more tasks to in-flight missiles.”

The new missiles will be modular, which means engineers can quickly change the...

The Omen of Lost Shirts

David Hunt, PE
Before I begin – a disclaimer. I abjure without reservation physical attacks, intimidation tactics, etc., nor am I suggesting or recommending any sort of insurrection or vigilante actions. However, I’d like to lead in with the following quote from an on-line political newsletter I stumbled upon:

Destroy people’s hopes for a better life and you make riot, revolution, anarchy, and war inevitable.

Think about that quote in the context of these three articles, Drop in real wages longest for 50 years, says ONS, Shocking data revision by feds: Americans’ wages dropped 4.2% instead of rising in the first quarter, and Working 60 Hours A Week At 3 Part-Time Jobs And Still Living Paycheck To Paycheck among a legion of similar pieces over the last few years. And then consider this, specifically that “Nearly half of Americans would have trouble finding $400 to pay for an emergency.” And this quote about the AI/robot jobpocalypse (bolding added):

Harari calls it “the rise of the useless class” and ranks it as one of the most dire threats of the 21st century. In a nutshell, as artificial intelligence gets smarter, more humans are pushed out of the job market. No one knows what to study at college, because no one knows what skills learned at 20 will be relevant at 40. Before you know it, billions of peopleare useless, not through chance but by definition.

Let the above data points sink in. And then consider what I consider a fundamental point of human nature: You cannot take away what people already have and expect them to not get angry. Nor can you proffer a replacement as you’re taking something away, and if they decide they don’t like it, hector them about how you “know” it’s a better choice so they need to just accept it and adapt - without them getting furious, that is.

So consider this essay a tocsin about alarming possibilities.

Shirts, Porches, and Salty Language

I was struck some time ago by a picture of two Air France executives being set upon by protesters over layoffs. The protestors assaulted them, ripped their shirts off and – possibly – intended even worse before they managed to escape and obtain police protection. The specific details of the layoffs are only circumferentially related to my central point: executives of a company announcing layoffs were physically assaulted.

In a similar vein, consider one specific protest that happened during the height of the “Occupy” movement: protesters angry at Bank of America’s (BoA) foreclosures descended – not on the company’s facility as I would opine would be a legitimate location – but to the home of one executive. Not content to trespass on the lawn, they stepped onto the porch itself, frightening the man’s son who was at home (bolding added):
But when hundreds of loud and angry strangers are descending on your family, your children, and your home, a more apt description of this assemblage would be "mob."Intimidation was the whole point of this exercise…

And lastly, consider two different levels of emotional display clearly evident in this video of a Carrier executive announcing the coming closing of both the Indianapolis production facility and the distribution center. First, immediately relevant, is the very visible and barely-controlled fury at the announcement.

The second, the executive’s reptilian coldness in reading – and sticking to – a script (even if, inside, he felt uncomfortable about it), I’ll discuss a little later.

Just Short of Boiling

Unless you’re comatose you have heard that companies are replacing, wholesale it seems, American workers with H1-B visa holders. For example, Disney called their IT personnel into a meeting; many of these persons were top performers, having received excellent performance reviews with some winning top corporate honors. They were informed that their jobs were being transferred to cheaper foreign workers, told that their severance pay relied on their staying to train those workers before they were shown the door… and then they were...

CNN forced to apologize for airing deceptively edited Milwaukee riot footage

You’ll probably know CNN as that network you only watch when you’re trapped in an airport, there’s no wifi, your laptop’s battery is dead, you don’t want to spend money on outdated print media, and you need something to look at while you slurp up your third watered-down Bloody Mary. For you it’s background noise, nothing more. However, there are apparently still people out there who regard it as a source of actual news. We’re not sure who those poor, ill-informed, souls are, but we’ve been assured that, yes, they really do exist.

Thanks to CNN’s deceptive editing, those folks believe that the woman in the following clip was calling for an end to the violence that recently engulfed Milwaukee. As you’ll see, they’ve been lied to.

Far from calling for an end to the fires, she was actually calling for the fires to be moved to the suburbs. There, presumably, the “appropriate” people would be targeted.

CNN was caught trying to sell the concept of the “peaceful protester” rather than admit the truth of...

Leaked Board Documents: Soros Organization Tried To Buy Supreme Court Ruling On Illegal Immigration

Open Society Foundations, Hungarian-born billionaire George Soros’ stated vehicle for progressive social change, orchestrated a well-funded attempt to secure a desired outcome in a U.S. Supreme Court case on illegal immigration enforcement, according to a newly discovered memo between the organization’s top U.S. officials and board members.

The February 2016 memo was among thousands of internal OSF documents released to the public by anonymous hackers whose stated goal is to “shed light on one of the most influential networks operating worldwide.” OSF U.S. Programs director Ken Zimmerman and deputy director Andrea Batista Schlesinger co-authored the memo, which is addressed to the 14 advisory board members of the organization’s U.S. operations.

Members of the advisory board include Soros family members, left-wing activists, Ivy League professors and columnists for The Washington Post and Foreign Policy magazine. The memo, entitled “State of U.S. Programs,” is part of a 75-page file containing internal documents from...

Rah! Rah! Hey, Where Did Our Ratings Go?

According to Tuesday’s scoreboard from TVNewser, in the month of August thus far Fox News Channel has once again come out on top as most watched news channel, surpassing more left-leaning networks CNN, and MSNBC.

However, in a more unusual showing, this month CNN fell short of MSNBC, as well. “MSNBC finished No. 6 in primetime and No. 8 in total day, while CNN finished No. 9 in primetime and No. 10 in total day,” reported TheWrap.com. “MSNBC’s second-place finish is notable, as CNN won the primetime demo for the entire month of July. Last week, MSNBC averaged 1.22 million primetime viewers compared to 986,000 for CNN.”

Western Journalism reported earlier this month that although CNN had high ratings during their coverage of the Democratic National Convention, the network did not enjoy a post-convention bump.

A Trump Surge Is Happening NOW, And The Media Knows It…

Did you know that since March, Donald Trump has all but eliminated what was once an 18-point lead over him by Hillary Clinton? Has the Mainstream Media reported that fact?

Nope – but you can bet these same media figures DO know about the Trump surge that is now underway, and continue to hide that truth from the American public.

Check this out, as reported by Sharyl Attkisson:

“In March of 2016, when likely voters were asked to choose between Clinton and Trump “if the election were held today,” Clinton bested Trump 54%-36% (18 percentage points).

In June, with Libertarian Gary Johnson thrown into the mix, Clinton’s lead over Trump was 5 percentage points smaller: 48% to 35% (13 percentage points).

In the most recent poll, the spread between Clinton and Trump in a two-person race was down to just 3 percentage points, Clinton at 45% and Trump at 42%. That’s within the margin of error. When...

Trump: Hillary ‘Wants To Be America’s Angela Merkel’

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump slammed Hillary Clinton as “America’s Angela Merkel” during his detailed policy speech on the threat of radical Islam.

“Hillary Clinton wants to be America’s Angela Merkel,” Trump said during his Monday address. “And you know what a disaster this massive immigration has been to Germany and the people of Germany–crime has risen to levels that no one thought they would ever see. We have enough problems in our country, we don’t need another one.”

As Breitbart News has previously reported, if elected president, Clinton’s policies could result in the permanent resettlement of close to one million Muslim migrants during the first term of her presidency alone. Under two terms of...

Clinton lead over Trump shrinks to margin-of-error: Bloomberg poll

Article By The Amazing Sharyl Attkisson
The following is a media news analysis

Is Hillary Clinton squashing Donald Trump into oblivion in the polls? Or is her lead over him perilously shrinking? One thing we know is: there are countless ways to spin a poll. Consider the case of selective reporting on the most recent Bloomberg national poll.

On Aug. 10, Bloomberg reported “Clinton up 6 on Trump in Two Way Race.” But looking at the actual poll, Trump has moved so close to Clinton, the results are within the margin of error.

Notably, in five months, Clinton’s lead over Trump in the Bloomberg poll has shrunk from 18-points to within the margin of error.

In March of 2016, when likely voters were asked to choose between Clinton and Trump “if the election were held today,” Clinton bested Trump 54%-36% (18 percentage points).

When Libertarian and Green Party candidates are put in the mix, it’s Clinton 42% and Trump 40% –again within the margin of error.

Clinton lead over Trump in Bloomberg poll

March 2016: 18 points

June 2016: 13 points*

August 2016: 3 points**

*including Libertarian in race
**within the margin of error

But this notable trend isn’t reflected in the Bloomberg write-up here. Instead, the reporter chose to use the poll numbers that look better for Clinton: ones that added in “leaners.” What are leaners? Respondents who were first asked who they’d vote for, then answered they didn’t plan to vote or didn’t know who they’d vote for, and then were pressed to pick a candidate they were leaning toward, anyway. This is how Bloomberg got to ...
