Ninety miles from the South Eastern tip of the United States, Liberty has no stead. In order for Liberty to exist and thrive, Tyranny must be identified, recognized, confronted and extinguished.

BOZELL & GRAHAM: The Russian Facebook Fizzle
In their book "Shattered," Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes report that within 24 hours of losing the presidential election, Hillary Clinton was ordering her campaign to argue that it was hacked by Russia. Just as reporters leaped to find "news" to corroborate her allegations of a "vast right-wing conspiracy" (VRWC for short) during the Monica Lewinsky scandal, they have lunged at stories of Russian interference to validate VRWC 2.0.
Second verse, same as the first. The media outlets most deeply invested in the narrative about Russia having somehow masterfully manipulated the 2016 election are beginning to struggle as the actual facts tumble out. Getting a closer look at the Russia Facebook postings doesn't help the Sore Loser Chorus. In fact, it demolishes it.
The New York Times posted a story on Oct. 9 headlined "How Russia Harvested American Rage to Reshape U.S. Politics." But there in the details was a dramatic shapelessness, a borrowing from the left and the right, that ultimately underscored why the story should have never been published in the first place.
Times reporters Nicholas Confessore and Daisuke Wakabayashi explained that one Russian Facebook page was called "the United Muslims of America," which often shared posts and videos about American Islamophobia. It stole a YouTube video produced by a man named Waqas Shah in which actors he'd paid shoved him around in New York City to see whether bystanders would object. They did not. So America is bigoted.
But another Russian account called "Being Patriotic" spread a widely circulated internet hoax about how Muslim men in Michigan were collecting welfare payments for multiple wives. So the Russians were both protesting Islamophobia ... and promoting it. How is that "reshaping" our election process? It is what it is: an attempt to inflame both ends of the spectrum and set them to war against each other.
If the Times is trying to corroborate Clinton's Russia-Trump conspiracy, it is not helping itself when it reports in the same piece that the Russians caused Americans on both sides of the divide to promote their material. It noted that a Facebook page called "Blacktivist" carried "passionate denunciations of the criminal justice system and viral videos of police violence." One of the posts about the death of a black teenager in a fight with police in Bridgeport, Connecticut, was reposted by Black Lives Matter Chicago.
The Being Patriotic page also stirred up conservatives with a message against more refugee settlements in America. But here's the glaring difference in coverage: The Times asked conservative social-media activists how they felt about having been used by the Russians, but they didn't get any quotes from Black Lives Matter about having been manipulated.
Washington Examiner correspondent Byron York dealt a major blow to these Russia-Trump conspiracy theories by reporting facts that Facebook itself has revealed.
--Facebook said 56 percent of these ads' impressions came after the election and 25 percent of the ads were never seen by anybody.
--Most of the ads didn't mention the election or the candidates or the need to vote. They may have "harvested American rage," but for what purpose?
--Most of the ads were not geographically targeted, and when they were, they were all over the place. The ones targeting swing states like Michigan and Wisconsin ran in 2015 and drew less than 1,000 impressions.
Nothing the Clintonistas have cited as the "real killers" of her presidential hopes has turned out to be true. Clinton wanted Donald Trump as her opponent. Then she couldn't...

Even if Trump’s border wall stops 10 percent of illegal aliens, it’ll easily pay for itself..
One of the sillier arguments against securing the border is cost.
Vastly inflated estimates are presented. But they leave out what failing to secure the border is costing us.
As Dr. Steven Camarota at the Center for Immigration Studies points out, even if the wall only stops a fraction of illegal immigration, it will pay for itself.
A new report by the Center for Immigration Studies estimates that if a wall at America’s southern border stopped between 160,000 and 200,000 illegal crossers — 9 to 12 percent of those expected to successfully cross in the next decade — the fiscal saving would equal the estimated $12 to $15 billion cost of the wall. The analysis takes the likely education level of illegal border crossers and applies fiscal impact estimates, developed by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine, for immigrants by educational attainment. Based on the Academies estimates, each illegal border crosser creates a net fiscal burden (taxes minus expenditures) of approximately $74,722 during their lifetime, excluding costs for their U.S.-born children.
Of course, the left denies that there’s any cost at all to illegal migration, just benefits, but the reality is...

Illegal Immigrant Accused Of Murdering Teen Girl Was DACA Recipient
Former President Barack Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program protected an illegal alien from being deported who went on to allegedly murder a teenage girl in South Carolina last week.
Authorities arrested and charged Daniel De Jesus Rangel Sherrer, 19, with first-degree murder of 18-year-old Diana Martinez-Gonzalez, who was found shot to death in a wooded area in Greenville County on October 4.
Sherrer was one of approximately 800,000 illegal aliens protected by DACA from deportation proceedings carried out by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) agents – as U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Public Affairs Officer Anita Rios Moore confirmed to the Daily Wire.
Greenville County Sheriff Will Lewis said at a press conference that it appeared as though the victim was forced into the woods following a fight with Sherrer and was then shot.
“Immediately upon contact he confessed to one of the deputies,” Lewis said.
According to Sherrer, he allegedly murdered Martinez-Gonzalez because she spread false rumors about him. He also held another girl captive who managed to...

With NFL Protests, Trump And Pence Prove The Right Can Win The Culture Wars
Pence and Trump didn't start the battle over the national anthem. But they may have just won the biggest current-day culture war in sports.
The left wanted to mix politics with sports right up until last Sunday, when Vice President Mike Pence left an Indianapolis Colts game at the sight of the kneeling players on both sides (the San Francisco 49ers are the most kneel-happy team in the league).
For years, sports media has enjoyed injecting politics into sports, but they didn’t seem to like Pence doing the same. Which suggests that their priority was never about covering the intersection of sports and politics, as they claimed, but rather the intersection of their politics and sports.
Sports fans, in large number, think of sports as solely entertainment and largely unifying. Sure, you may be a Clemson grad who hates all things Gamecocks, but for the most part, sports are what brings communities together for high school football, colleges together during NCAA Tournament runs, and diverse cities and entire regions together for pro sports success.
Everyone enjoys an inspiring story, and sports are chock-full of them. It can be the most uplifting part of your newspaper.
What disrupts our enjoyment of sports is divisiveness, but sports media has had no time for that complaint in recent years. This was another realm of culture to claim, so they’ve made things and more political, even against its better interests.
Sports Media Have Disdained Their Audience
In 2013, the National Journal studied 200,000 interviews and charted what sports fans liked, how they leaned politically, how many fans liked a certain sport, and how likely those fans were to vote.
The sports that skewed left were the WNBA, pro tennis, the NBA, soccer, pro wrestling, horse racing, UFC, and extreme sports. Only the NBA ranks among America’s most-watched sports.
Two were right on the line of bipartisanship: motocross and grand-am road racing (I don’t know what that is, and don’t care to look it up).
All other sports skewed right: the NFL, the MLB (the closest to the bipartisan line all these), college football, college basketball, NASCAR, rodeo, bull riding, drag racing, pro golf, IndyCary, high school sports, and the Olympics.
It would be wise to take this information into consideration, right? Maybe not preach liberal politics to right-leaning sports fans, particularly at a time when...
Trump, Paul Forge Alliance on ‘Biggest Free-Market Reform of Health Care in Generation’
Unable so far to achieve even a partial rollback of Obamacare from Congress, President Donald Trump signed an executive order Thursday that could make it easier for some consumers to buy insurance across state lines—potentially increasing competition.
“The competition will be staggering,” Trump said before signing the order. “Insurance companies will be fighting to get every single person signed up, and you will be hopefully negotiating, negotiating, negotiating, and you’ll get such low prices for such great care.”
“Should have been done a long time ago, and it could have been done a long time ago,” he said.
Trump’s executive order primarily does three things:
“President Trump is doing what I believe is the biggest free-market reform of health care in a generation. This reform, if it works and goes as planned, will allow millions of people to...

Trump’s executive order primarily does three things:
- Allows more small businesses to form associations to buy insurance plans, with the goal of creating more competition and expanding options across state lines.\
- Reviews establishment of “short-term limited duration insurance,” which would not be subject to Obamacare’s expensive and comprehensive coverage regulations.
- Makes it easier for businesses to offer health reimbursement accounts, to allow more employees of small businesses to get coverage through work.

Trump: Kaepernick should have been suspended from the get-go, would have saved NFL a lot of grief
“I watched Colin Kaepernick and I thought it was terrible. And then it got bigger and bigger and started mushrooming. And frankly the NFL should have suspended him for one game and he would have never done it again,” Trump told Fox News’ Sean Hannity.
President Donald Trump began railing against the NFL protests — that is known in some circles as the #TakeTheKnee movement– in late September at a speech in Huntsville, Ala., where the president was campaigning for GOP Sen. Luther Strange.
“They could have then suspended him for two games and they could have suspended him again if he did it a third time, for the season, and you would never have had a problem,” Trump said. “But I will tell you – you cannot disrespect our country, our flag, our anthem, you cannot do that.”
“The only thing you could do better is if you see it, even if it’s one player, leave the stadium. I guarantee things will stop. Things will stop. Just pick...
