The U.S. Must Build More Icebreakers Now!

In January Of 2014 I wrote this article: U.S. Must Build More Icebreakers Now

From what I can tell, we still only have 2 icebreakers. That is barely enough icebreakers to keep saving arctic scientists from getting caught in the ice while trying to prove there is no ice.

• Red signifies 4 to 5 meters (13 ft to 16 ft) of ice.
• White signifies zero thickness of ice.

I don’t see much open water. Do you?
