Former Michelle Obama chief of staff Tina Tchen literally hid in her office from a process server trying to serve her with a subpoena for records pertaining to her intervention in the Jussie Smollett hate-hoax case. The subpoena seeks records of Tchen’s interactions with Cook County prosecutor Kim Foxx, who dropped all hate hoax charges against Smollett, a friend of the Obamas. A judge Thursday ordered records from the case to be un-sealed, while Chicago police officers have protested Foxx’s decision.
Law and Crime reports: “Tchen, who was formerly chief of staff to Michelle Obama, refused to to meet with a process server that was trying to serve her the subpoena at her office, according to reporting from the Chicago Sun-Times. The guard told the process server that Tchen “knew about” the subpoena, but that she refused to come down and accept it.”
