Ninety miles from the South Eastern tip of the United States, Liberty has no stead. In order for Liberty to exist and thrive, Tyranny must be identified, recognized, confronted and extinguished.

Middle school teacher bans female student from her first amendment rights to write about ‘hero’ Trump...
Long Island sixth-grader Bella Moscato wants to discuss why “Donald Trump is my hero,” but her teacher at Samoset Middle School thinks the 45th president “spreads negativity and says bad stuff about women,” she said.
The 11-year-old from Lake Ronkonkoma told News 12 her teacher asked students to fill out a worksheet titled “What is A Hero To You?” then nixed her choice because she doesn’t like Trump.
“She said that I wasn’t allowed to do Donald Trump because he spreads negativity and says bad stuff about women,” she said, adding that other students and teachers witnessed the rejection.
“What I didn’t get, she was ok with somebody doing Barack Obama, but not ok with Donald Trump?” Moscato said. “That’s what got me angry. I didn’t like that.”
Moscato’s parents demanded an apology from the Sachem Central School District at a recent board meeting, but so far have received only a public statement from the superintendent alleging their daughter is a liar.
Superintendent Kenneth Graham issued a statement to News 12 alleging “it is not accurate that this student was told that they were not allowed to conduct research on any individual for a school assignment, including President Trump.
“To the best of our knowledge, by choice the student is still conducting their project of President Trump,” Graham wrote.
“My daughter’s hero is the president of our country,” Moscato’s father, Arthur Moscato, said proudly to a loud applause at the recent board meeting. “I can’t believe that anybody in the school would tell my daughter … that that guy can’t be her hero. I’m incensed by this.”
“I’m incensed that my story was said to be unaccurate, by you,” he said. “My story isn’t unaccurate. My daughter didn’t lie.”
Moscato’s mother, Valerie Moscato, elaborated for News 12.
“This was really frustrating to me because, you know, my daughter has every right to do and pick a hero of her choice. It’s her First Amendment right, freedom of speech, freedom of...

10 Offbeat Stories You Might Have Missed This Week (4/6/19)
The world is full of weird and wonderful things, but a person can hardly be expected to keep up with all of them. Luckily, we’re here to help. In this list, we present to you some of the stranger stories that made headlines. This week contained April Fool’s Day, so there were plenty of bizarre and unique stories in the headlines. However, once the dust settled, we discovered that not all of them were hoaxes. The week had its fair share of real offbeat news such as lemurs doing yoga, a parade of silly walks, and controversy over who the tallest politician in the world is.
An interesting arrest took place in the Swedish capital of Stockholm last Friday. An off-duty policeman apprehended a wanted fugitive while both were sharing a sauna completely naked. The officer in question used his day off for a nice, relaxing visit to a Swedish sauna called a bastu. He was, of course, nude, as were all the people around him in the crowded room. He soon recognized one of his fellow sauna sweaters as a convicted criminal wanted for multiple drug offenses. Despite being ill-equipped, the policeman arrested the fugitive without a major incident.[1]Rinkeby Deputy Police Chief Christoffer Bohman found the situation comical but also commended the officer for keeping his head cool and taking control of a potentially dangerous situation.
A new study published in the journal on infectious diseases Acta Tropica suggests that dubstep music could work as an efficient mosquito repellent. If you ever find yourself under attack by these pesky insects, put on some electronic dance music. Specifically, try the track “Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites” by Skrillex.
That is the song that scientists used in a recent experiment to see what kind of effect it would have on the behavior of adult Aedes aegypti, also known as yellow fever mosquitoes. They chose that particular song because it has a good blend of very high and very low frequencies.Insects rely on sound to explore a good deal of their environment, so the belief was that music might interrupt their regular behavior patterns. Indeed, female mosquitoes attacked hosts later and less often than their control counterparts. Not only that, but they also had less sex. Of course, researchers only used one track in their testing so it’s hard to say if music, in general, works as a deterrent or if Skrillex, specifically, has an effect on mosquitoes.[2]
There is a new political row over who holds the record of being the tallest politician in the world.Last week, New York City councilman Robert Cornegy Jr. was officially recognized by Guinness World Records as the world’s tallest politician. A former basketball player for St. John’s University, Cornegy stands at 208 centimeters (6’10”). The measurements were provided by three doctors from a Brooklyn medical center. It did not take long for other people to come forward to contest the title. Jon Godfread, an insurance commissioner from North Dakota, says that he is 212.7 centimeters (6’11.75″). He also used to play basketball for the University of Northern Iowa and for a professional team in Germany. Even taller is Brad Sellers, the mayor of Warrensville Heights, Ohio. He is listed at 213 centimeters (7’0″) and was drafted by the Chicago Bulls back in 1986. If we are also counting inactive politicians, then NBA Hall of Famer Yao Ming would take the title. After his retirement from basketball, the 229-centimeter (7’6″) Chinese athlete served as a delegate in the advisory body of the National People’s Congress.[3]
Humans might return to the Moon one day soon. If they do, scientists would like them to bring back the poop that has been sitting there for decades. There are over 181,000 kilograms (400,000 lb) of man-made garbage on the Moon. Of that, almost 100 bags are filled with human waste from the astronauts who landed there. That was simply a by-product of human biology. It was never intended to be some long-term experiment. For astrobiologists, though, those bags are now probably the most interesting thing on the entire Moon.Researchers would like to take a look at the feces and other human waste to see if there is anything alive in it. Under normal circumstances, poop is around 50 percent bacteria from over 1,000 different species. On Earth, this microbial life is so resilient that it can be found in every environment, no matter how harsh the conditions.[4] Considering that the waste has been sitting on the Moon for decades, this would be, by far, the most extreme environment yet. That is why scientists are not getting their hopes up but are also not dismissing the idea outright.Given ideal conditions, microbes could still be alive or at least revivable. Even if the microbes are all dead, researchers still consider the bags worth studying to try to determine how long the bacteria lasted and if they made any adaptations to their environment or not.
For the first time in over 80 years, scientists announced the discovery of a new species of mastodon.Mastodons are the extinct cousin of elephants. They belong to the genus Mammut which, despite the name, does not include mammoths. They are part of the similarly-named genus Mammuthus. Mastodons were common throughout most of North and Central America and disappeared around 11,000 years ago. Until recently, the scientific consensus was that North America was primarily populated by one widespread species simply called the American mastodon. According to a new paper published in PeerJ, a team led by Dr. Alton Dooley suggests that all the specimens recovered in California actually belonged to a different species named the Pacific mastodon.[5] There are some telltale differences. The Pacific mastodon has narrower teeth, a thicker femur, and a sixth sacral vertebra compared to the American mastodon. Most noticeably, though, the former had no mandibular tusks. Dooley noticed that no fossils were recovered from the Sonoran and Mojave Deserts as well as the Sierra Nevada. He speculates that they acted as natural barriers that kept the two species apart.

Wall Street: 70 percent of insiders believe POTUS Trump WILL be reelected
A new survey of Wall Street insiders found that nearly three-quarters of them believe that POTUS Donald Trump will be reelected, even as they see former Vice President Joe Biden as the most finance-friendly Democrat the president could face.
“Most expect Trump to win in 2020, but there’s still some nervousness around the event,” Lori Calvasina, RBC Capital Markets’ head of U.S. equity strategy, wrote to clients, CNBC reported.
Sixty-seven percent “of our March 2019 survey respondents believe that Joe Biden is seen as the most acceptable Democratic candidate by the stock market for the White House. No other candidate got a significant number of votes.”
The survey was taken after special counsel Robert Mueller issued his final report to the Justice Department noting — officially — that his team of Democrat-donor prosecutors did not find that the 2016 Trump campaign “colluded” with Mother Russia to ‘steal the election from Hillary Clinton.’
In all, CNBC reported, 141 equity-focused institutional investors were polled for the survey.
The site noted further:
Presidential elections can have important implications for financial markets based on what traders believe the elected candidate will prioritize while in office. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rallied more than 450 points in the two days following Trump’s election in 2016 and jumped nearly 8 percent into year-end as investors grew confident in...

FBI Hides Email Records with CNN Related to Roger Stone Raid From Public
The FBI is denying an open records request for transparency regarding the controversial raid of Trump associate Roger Stone’s home
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is stonewalling the public regarding possible collusion with CNN reporters before pulling their jackbooted raid of Roger Stone’s home, arresting the elderly Trump associate with a show of force worthy of El Chapo.
The Federalist filed an open records request to witness all FBI emails addressed to and from CNN before the pre-dawn raid of Stone outside of his Fort Lauderdale, FL home. The FBI quickly denied the request.
“Please provide all e-mails sent to or received from any account with a ‘cnn.com’ domain from January 24, 2019 through January 25, 2019,” The Federalist wrote in their Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA) request.
While it was rumored that Stone’s home would be raided and he would be prosecuted for several months before it occurred, CNN reporters knew to get in position the day it did finally did happen. The raid looked as if it was a staged public relations event for Robert Mueller’s ‘Russian collusion’ probe.
In complete disregard for the intelligence of their audience, the CNN producer behind the coverage of Stone’s raid had the gall to claim it was “reporter’s instinct” that caused the display to be timed like a Hollywood production.
“It’s reporter’s instinct,” CNN producer David Shortell said after being asked about the suspicious display. “The whole Russia team thought maybe something was happening.”
“There was some unusual grand jury activity in Washington, D.C., yesterday,” Shortell said, continuing his rationale. “Robert Mueller’s grand jury typically meets on Fridays. Yesterday, Thursday, there was grand jury activity.”
“We also had some other signs that maybe something was going on this angle, the Roger Stone angle,” Shortell added. “So we showed up at his house this morning, we were the only ones there, and lo and behold...
Of course: Dems sneak GUN control into ‘Violence Against Women Act’ reauthorization — to beat up GOP
Democrats, in an attempt to paint Republicans — again — as “anti-women,” snuck a gun control measure inside a bill to reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act.
On Thursday, the House voted in favor of the doctored reauthorization bill 263-158, with 33 Republicans, amazingly, voting with them.
But before the Democrat propaganda machine known as the “mainstream media” gets to claim the rest of the GOP caucus is filled with women haters, here’s the rest of the story.
The reauthorization was not a clean bill; it was packed with new gun control legislation that backers claim was aimed at cutting domestic violence and sexual assault.
Roll Call noted:
The House is expected to pass the bill to reauthorize the 1994 law and add language to expand housing protections for victims, give more help to Native American women and enhance law enforcement tools through grants.
It would also expand the category of who could lose the right to possess guns under the law, adding those convicted of dating violence or misdemeanor stalking to close the so-called “boyfriend loophole.”
The bill should have been easy — even in a GOP-controlled Senate. And it would have been, had Democrats not turned it into yet another attempt to scratch away at the Second Amendment.
“Republicans are committed to reauthorizing VAWA, however, Democrats have refused to engage on the issue in a meaningful, bipartisan manner and instead rushed a partisan bill to the floor,” reads a statement to Blaze Media from the office of Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La).
In a Wednesday speech on Capitol Hill, Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) said the current bill is nearly “unrecognizable from the legislation originally passed in 1994.”
“In the name of protecting women, Democrats are exploiting this bill as an opportunity to assault the Second Amendment rights of American citizens,” Roy continued, “and it’s despicable that anyone would seize on this as such an opportunity to weaponize a measure that was intended to protect victims.”
“You’re taking something that should be an easy bipartisan reauthorization of existing law and complicating it to make a political point,” Rep. Tom Cole, Oklahoma Republican and bill supporter, said. “You’re certainly free to do that, but in the meantime, you should have at least extended it through the fiscal year so that you can make whatever point and then sit down and negotiate.”
Except that Democrats have the mindset that they are ‘in charge’ and don’t have to negotiate with Republicans or the president.
“Our calculation was that we’re in charge now, we can pass a bill that we think is a comprehensive bill to protect all women,” House Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer of Maryland told reporters Tuesday. “I’m hopeful that the Senate will take it up … or ask to go to conference on it. But we need to reauthorize it.”
As usual, there’s more to it than just ‘protecting women from abusive male partners.’
Tom Knighton explains at Bearing Arms that “Second Amendment advocates take the bill as written because, while federal law already bars convicted abusive spouses from purchasing guns, the new bill would take away Second Amendment rights for things that aren’t felonies and aren’t considered domestic violence,” The Blaze reported.
“The NRA opposes domestic violence and all violent crime and spends millions of dollars teaching countless Americans how not to be a victim and how to safely...
