Chinese Communist Flag Planted on Moon by Unmanned Ship

An unmanned Chinese moon lander is on its way back to earth after collecting several pounds of moon rocks and leaving behind something to remember them by.

A Chinese Communist flag.

Well, at least it’s not the hammer and sickle.

And I don’t think there are too many questioning whether the commie flag is sitting on a soundstage in Hollywood.

China becomes the third nation to have landed a spacecraft on the moon and carried back samples of moon rocks. In addition to the U.S., the Soviet Union had a successful sample-return mission in 1972.

Fox News:
Chang’e 5’s unmanned mission was the latest in a series that comprises the Chinese Lunar Exploration Program. Departing with a load of lunar rocks, the mission represented the first time a spacecraft tried to return moon samples since the Soviet Union did it in the 1970s.

NASA Associate Administrator Thomas Zurbuchen congratulated China on its landing which took place Tuesday.

“Congratulations to China on the...

  1. Just think. In 50 years China will land a rocket booster back on the launch pad.

  2. Hey Chinks, you're doing it wrong. That's lame. You only get to leave a flag when you send a human to plant it.

  3. Looks phony like the pics of the obelisk in Utah.

  4. 51 years ago, The United States of America landed men on the moon and brought them safely back to earth. No other country has duplicated that feat since. Oh, by the way, we used machines designed with slide rules do it.

Other countries have tried to put UNMANNED machines on the moon's surface since. Only Russia and China have succeeded so far. Israel and India's missions crash landed and haven't been heard from since.

Going to the moon and coming back with samples is no easy feat, even in this modern day of super computers designing all of the hardware.

We, the USA, did it with slide rules 50 years ago. Our modern day smart phones are at least 1,000,000 times more capable than the navigation computers that helped guide those successful moon missions.

Let that sink in for minute.

  6. The answer to the common question, "If there is no wind on the moon why is the US flag flaring like that?" is so easy it's amazing people still question that.

Look at the top of the flag. That's a stiffener holding the flag out. The wrinkles are because it was packed tightly in a small container for months awaiting flight. The people planning the mission knew the flag would just be an unrecognizable mess by the time it was taken out of the package and put up in the vacuum on the moon, so they put stiffeners into it.
