Why ‘Indigenous Peoples’ Day’ Is Far Worse Than Columbus Day
I am standing up at the water's edge in my dream
I cannot make a single sound as you scream
It can't be that cold, the ground is still warm to touch
Hey, we touch
This place is so quiet, sensing that storm
Red rain is coming down
Red rain
Red rain is pouring down
Pouring down all over me
Well I've seen them buried in a sheltered place in this town
They tell you that this rain can sting and look down
There is no blood around, see no sign of pain
Hey, no pain
Seeing no red at all, see no rain
Columbus put together an expedition using the latest technology, set sail, navigating using the best technology available, and discovered "The New World." The indians somehow made it to The New World, either on foot or drifting in rafts until they ran aground, purely by chance. From then on we can only assume they spent their days hunting, fishing swapping wives for wampum, and killing each other over wives and wampum. Doing the same with horses came later... but only after the Spanish introduced them. The indians were no better than any humans on Earth. Heck; they were so busy killing each other off that they couldn't even tolerate each other long enough to drive the Europeans out! One thing's for sure; European technology and intellect eventually go humanity to the moon. Indian technology brought us peyote and beef jerky... I say we celebrate the Italian guy...
