Elon Musk takes on Dem’s Wall Street, & suddenly DoJ probes his SpaceX

Retail investors are taking short sellers to the cleaners at least for now, and Elon Musk is enjoying it all. As he’s enjoying it, suddenly, we find out the DoJ is probing SpaceX.

The Tesla CEO has been sparring with Wall Street bears for years. This week, he has leveraged Twitter TWTR -2.02% to help fuel the populist frenzy over GameStop Corp. GME 67.87% and other companies to stick it to the short sellers once more, the Wall Street Journal reported.

“Here come the shorty apologists. Give them no respect. Get Shorty,” Mr. Musk tweeted Thursday to his more than 40 million followers.

On Wednesday, GameStop shares more than doubled after Mr. Musk tweeted “Gamestonk!!” the previous afternoon, linking to the popular Reddit forum WallStreetBets. Stonk is a play on the word “stock.”

THEN CAME THE FEDS

Coincidentally, today, we learn that the Department of Justice is investigating Elon Musk’s SpaceX after it was accused of discriminating against non-U.S. citizens in its hiring process.

Court documents reveal that a non-U.S. citizen filed a complaint at the DOJ’s Immigrant and Employee Rights (IER) division alleging that Musk’s aerospace company discriminated against him based on his citizenship status, CNBC reported.

One non-US citizen? And that brings in the Feds who can’t find a coup whipping around them?

Is he illegal?

“The charge alleges that on or about March 10, 2020, during the Charging Party’s interview for the position of Technology Strategy Associate, SpaceX made inquiries about his citizenship status and ultimately failed to hire him for the position because he...

REPORT: Google Deleted Nearly 100,000 Negative Ratings From Robinhood

Google reportedly deleted nearly 100,000 negative reviews from the investment app Robinhood on the Google Play store Thursday.

Google confirmed to The Verge that they removed the bad reviews, which were enough to bring the total star rating down to one star. A screenshot posted by the outlet showed Robinhood with nearly 275,000 reviews and a one-star rating, then another screenshot later Thursday showed the app with about 180,000 reviews and a four-star rating.

The company “combines human intelligence with machine learning to detect and enforce policy violations in ratings and reviews,” it told The Verge. Robinhood does not have the ability to delete reviews themselves, and Google deleted reviews that were in violation of its policies, the company said.

The influx of negative reviews came after Robinhood halted the ability to buy stocks in Gamestop and other companies Thursday morning. Hedge funds and Wall Street executives had heavily shorted Gamestop – meaning that they bet that the stock would go down – because they believed the company would have trouble adapting to digital video games. Users on the Reddit page WallStreetBets discovered that the stock had been widely shorted and were able to increase the price of the stock by over 600%, costing the hedge funds billions.

Robinhood is now facing a class-action lawsuit from investors who say that halting the purchase of some stocks put them at an unfair disadvantage and violated the...

When Resistance Became Sedition and Sedition Became Resistance

Republicans failed to punish Obama’s national security abuses. Biden’s abuses will be worse.

In 2008, “dissent” went from being the “highest form of patriotism”, a quote by Communist revisionist historian Howard Zinn that Democrats falsely attributed to Thomas Jefferson, to treason when George W. Bush made way for Barack H. Obama. The old bumper stickers about the patriotic value of dissent were swiftly replaced with others touting the value of change.

In 2020, resistance just as quickly turned into sedition once the political tables were turned.

In one month, questioning a presidential election went from a commonplace proposition to a shocking attack on our democracy. And we all know that if President Trump had been inaugurated for a second term, there would be no censorship or censure of the Democrat politicians and pundits claiming that he was only reelected because of Russia or UFOs.

Nor would we be hearing any talk of “sedition” and “insurrection” as if they were bad things.

When November was just decorating the flagstones of D.C. with faded leaves, the Democrat cliques inside federal agencies were still touting their skill at undermining the White House in chats with reporters at bars where drinks cost more than most Americans earn in a day.

These members of the “resistance” had spent four years undermining elected officials while falsely claiming that they were entitled to do it because the 2016 election had been illegitimate.

Government officials boasted anonymously of undermining President Trump, members of Congress and their staffers helped protesters get inside to disrupt hearings, rioters who assaulted police officers and attacked federal buildings were bailed out by Democrat officials and celebrities who enlisted Silicon Valley and major corporations to support the riots.

By the time November was done, resistance had been rebranded as “sedition”. Storming Capitol Hill went from a passionate endeavor by Democrat activists protesting the Kavanaugh nomination, the environment, or some other lefty cause, to the single worst event since 9/11.

Black Lives Matter riots had besieged the White House and set fire to its guardhouse, while still being defended by Democrats and the media as peaceful protesters. The media agonized over photos of federal agents protecting the Lincoln Memorial as a sign of incipient fascism. Less than a year later, 25,000 troops occupying D.C. like Baghdad are being cheered by...

The 90 Miles Mystery Box: Episode #1249

You have come across a mystery box. But what is inside?
It could be literally anything from the serene to the horrific,
from the beautiful to the repugnant,
from the mysterious to the familiar.

If you decide to open it, you could be disappointed,
you could be inspired, you could be appalled.

This is not for the faint of heart or the easily offended.
You have been warned.

You Can Thank Our Elites For Proliferating Conspiracies

The media's disinterest in holding one entire side of the spectrum to account is making this much worse by allowing them to get away with it, circulating false information, and sowing immense distrust.

Journalists generally assess our politics through the same lens as Democratic operatives, which assumes Democrats are the good guys and Republicans are not. For some in the corporate media, that’s not so much a conscious partisan calculation as it is the consequence of their shared cultural leftism.

This is a key driving force behind our national discord. A better lens generally assumes politicians are the bad guys, whether they’re friendly to the press, progressive, Christian, rich, poor, or whatever. That’s not only more accurate, it’s more fair and more constructive for the so-called fourth estate, which exists to hold powerful people accountable on a nonpartisan basis. When journalists share the cultural values of Democratic partisans, they lose their ability to apply that lens.

This could preface any number of media critiques but it’s relevant currently in light of stories about Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga. I don’t want to make this a meta story about the media’s failure when the primary issue at hand is Greene’s total disqualification from elected office and the GOP’s mishandling of her ascent. That said, two points are true—the media is creating more and more Greenes every single day and the media treats the left’s versions of Greene very differently.

Let’s focus in on the second point. Rep. Ilhan “All-About-The-Benjamins” Omar, D-Minn., is corrupt and nearly as conspiratorial as Greene. She also seems to be antisemitic. But the media doesn’t make Omar the subject of breathless coverage about her party’s moral bankruptcy. They put her on magazine covers.

The same goes for the likes of Linda Sarsour and Tamika Mallory. Hillary Clinton and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) are currently trafficking in bizarre conspiratorial theories that Donald Trump talked to and took direction from Vladimir Putin on the day of the Capitol riot without being treated as menacing representations of rot in their party. Clinton never accepted the results of her 2016 loss, and continues to recklessly advance baseless notions of...

Joe Biden Has Issued 42 Executive Actions In One Week, A Practice He Recently Called ‘Dictator’ Behavior.

The number of executive orders issued by President Biden in the first week – who once decried the legislative move as undemocratic and used by “dictators” – is more double the amount of the past seven presidents combined.

In just seven days, President Biden issued 42 executive actions.

That’s ten times as many as Donald Trump and over eight times as many as Barack Obama. It is a whopping 22 times greater than Bill Clinton, and 42 more than Presidents Reagan and Bush.

As the left liked to say of Donald Trump: this is not normal.

Joe Biden even recognized this on the run up to the Presidential election, calling the unilateral use of executive actions the hallmark of a “dictator.”

Speaking at an October 15th, 2020 town hall with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, then-candidate Biden insisted that presidents who rule by executive order are undemocratic:

I have this strange notion. We are a democracy. Some of my Republican friends and some of my Democratic friends even say: well if you can’t get the votes, by executive order you’re going to do something, things you can’t do by executive order unless you’re a dictator.

“We’re a democracy. We need consensus,” the President who’s relied on executive orders to pass his agenda added.

As American University History Professor Allan Lichtman noted:

How to Blow Up the Left's Terrorist Narrative

If the name Tatiana Schlossberg sounds like a brand for white privilege, you would be right. She’s not a top chef or fashion designer. She’s the 30-year-old daughter of Caroline Kennedy and Ed Schlossberg, the granddaughter of JFK. Like Maria Shriver at NBC, Tatiana became an “objective journalist” for a while, covering the environment at The New York Times from 2016 to 2019.

When she wrote a book in 2019 called Inconspicuous Consumption, NBC put her on TV and pushed her to run for office. She deferred, saying she was a journalist...a political activist of a different stripe.

On January 24, she reviewed three books on “Climate Disaster” for the New York Times Book Review. One book had an especially provocative title: How to Blow Up a Pipeline, by a far-left Swedish professor named Andreas Malm. It was published on January 5 by Verso Books, which calls itself “the largest independent, radical publishing house in the English-speaking world.”

That’s one day before the terrible violent riot on Capitol Hill.

Verso’s promotional blurb for this latest version of a Unabomber treatise is really something. “In this lyrical manifesto, noted climate scholar (and saboteur of SUV tires and coal mines) Andreas Malm makes an impassioned call for the climate movement to escalate its tactics in the face of ecological collapse,” it says. “We need, he argues, to force fossil fuel extraction to stop—with our actions, with our bodies, and by defusing and destroying its tools. We need, in short, to start blowing up some oil pipelines.”

It seems intellectually incoherent for The New York Times to cheer the social media squashing voices promoting Trump’s “landslide victory” conspiracy theories because they might lead to violence...and then discover the Times offering space to a book advocating property destruction.

Online, the Times promoted it as “Three Books Offer New Ways to Think About Environmental Disaster.” When it comes to Big Energy (as opposed to Big Government), a few pipeline bombs offer “a new way of thinking,” an expansion of our ecological possibilities.

Schlossberg calls it “a compelling but frustrating treatise.” She says “one of the most satisfying parts of his book comes when he brutally dispatches with ‘climate fatalists.’” (Perhaps when reviewing a book endorsing blowing up stuff, the words “brutally dispatches” should be avoided.)

She loves Malm saying “climate fatalism is for those on top.” But here’s the poster girl for white privilege, a roving global correspondent born “on top,” promoting violence against energy companies, which provide jobs to Americans in flyover states much less privileged than she is.

This Kennedy princess insists Malm doesn’t offer “any actual instructions” for explosions. She concludes “the problem with violence, even when it’s meant only to destroy...

Capitol Police Chief Touts PERMANENT Fence, More Security

Makes Me Wonder What They Have Planned That They Will Need This Protection....-mm

“Vast improvements to the physical security infrastructure must be made to include permanent fencing, and the availability of ready, back-up forces”

The Capitol Police Chief has proposed erecting a permanent fence around the centre of government in DC, prompting a massive backlash.

The Hill notes that acting U.S. Capitol Police Chief Yogananda Pittman made the call, saying it is necessary to ‘prevent another riot’.

“In light of recent events, I can unequivocally say that the vast improvements to the physical security infrastructure must be made to include permanent fencing, and the availability of ready, back-up forces in close proximity to the Capitol,” Pittman said in a statement.

Since the events of January 6th, a huge eight foot fence with razor wire has been built around the Capitol, prompting comparisons to something out of a Mad Max movie.

The call for beefed up security and a permanent fence in DC comes after Joe Biden signed an executive order on his first day to halt construction of the huge fence at the border.

Apparently fences only work if they’re protecting Washington Elites, not everyday Americans.

The call also comes after Nancy Pelosi claimed that “the enemy is within” the House, referring to Republican lawmakers who she says carry guns around the Capitol and have “threatened violence against other members of Congress.”

Pelosi made the comments after a DHS warning called for a continuation of...

FNC’s Carlson: GameStop Saga Shows System Is ‘Not the Capitalism We Were Promised — Not Even Close’

Thursday, Fox News Channel’s Tucker Carlson opened his program with his thoughts on the fallout of the GameStop short-squeeze situation unfolding that has caused financial elites to question the retail investor’s role in financial markets.

Carlson said the backlash showed the U.S. economic system was not living up to its intended billing.

Transcript as follows:

CARLSON: Quite a day in financial markets, not a phrase we use a lot on this show, but a lot happened today and there are massive implications for all of us. Dave Portnoy joins us in a moment to explain what those are, but first some context of what we’re watching right now.

Last March, as the country began to panic about the arrival of a strange new coronavirus from China, a billionaire called Bill Ackman went on television in an attempt to make America even more afraid than it already was. “Our economy may be done at this point,” he said, over, dead, not coming back.

Bill Ackman went on like this for 28 full minutes, terrified CNBC viewers watched slack-jawed as he ranted. Here’s part of his performance.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

BILL ACKMAN, CEO, PERSHING SQUARE CAPITAL: Hell is coming. This was a feeling like I’ve never had like there’s a tsunami coming, right? The tsunami is coming in and you feel it in the air, right? The tide starts to roll out. Okay. And on the beach, people are playing and having fun, like there’s nothing going on. And that is the feeling I’ve had for the last two months. Okay. And my colleagues at work, okay, thought I was a lunatic.

We need to shut it down now. America will end as we know it, okay, I’m sorry to say so. Okay, unless we take this option.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

CARLSON: Bill Ackman was afraid, and he wanted you to be afraid. Ackman was especially frightened for the future of Hilton Hotels. Hilton Hotels, Ackman proclaimed quote: “Is going to zero along with every other hotel company in the world.” Every hotel is going to be shut down in the country — everyone. Talk about scary.

But in the end, not for Bill Ackman. Not long after that appearance, we learned that Ackman’s firm had made more than $2 billion from trading in the stocks that many people believed he had pushed down with the hysterically dire predictions you just saw, including Hilton Hotels.

So, it was Ackman’s rant on CNBC part of a very dishonest investment strategy? It seemed pretty obvious, so we said so on the air. Ackman’s lawyers immediately threatened to...

How CIA Created Signal Messenger App

Recently, after WhatsApp threatened to change its privacy policy, people were nuged to the alternate Signal messenger app. However, serious discussion of Signal’s history, and funding sources, has been entirely absent from the puff pieces by media. This investigation reveals how CIA created the Signal app, funded by the US government to protect communications of its agents deployed for regime change.

Open Whisper Systems

Signal was launched by now-defunct Open Whisper Systems (OWS) in 2013, brainchild of shadowy tech guru ‘Moxie Marlinspike’ – real name Matthew Rosenfeld.

In February 2018, responsibility for managing the app passed to the nonprofit Signal Foundation, launched with $50 million in startup capital provided by billionaire former Facebook higher-up Brian Acton, the Foundation’s executive chair.

OWS never published financial statements or disclosed the identities of its funders at any point during its operation, although the sums involved in launching and maintaining a messaging platform used by a vast number of people internationally over several years were surely significant.

Open Technology Fund

Rosenfeld alleges the app “never [took] VC funding or sought investment” at any point during that time, and quite how much money was involved in total is a...

As McCarthy seeks unity with Trump, Gaetz slams Cheney in Wyoming amid speculation over primary challenges

McCarthy met with Trump as the former president mulls backing challengers to GOP incumbents

Rep. Matt Gaetz traveled to Wyoming on Thursday to call for the ouster of House Republican Caucus Chair Liz Cheney over her vote to impeach former President Trump, underscoring the divisions in the GOP at grapples with its identity in the wake of Trump's presidency.

Gaetz during the rally railed against "neocons," "forever wars" and Cheney's impeachment vote while accusing Cheney, R-Wyo., of having blood on her hands. The event could be considered the first closely-watched campaign rally of the 2022 congressional primaries.

"Now Liz Cheney taunts me for wearing makeup in my television appearances. Now, make up only hides the slightest imperfections of the skin. It does very little to conceal the soulless corruption of Washington D.C.," Gaetz said. He was referencing a comment a Cheney, R-Wyo., spokesperson made to The Hill in response to Gaetz's rally plans, that "In Wyoming, men don't wear make-up."

"It's pretty easy for me to get a little makeup off my shirt," Gaetz continued. "Far more difficult for Liz Cheney to get the blood off her hands after sending America's best to foreign lands to die for unknowable gain and personal profit."

Meanwhile in Florida, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy was meeting with Trump in Mar-a-Lago, aiming to mend fences after the former president reportedly took...
