  1. My first visit to Arlington was when I was 10 years old in 71. Besides the Tombs of the Unknowns the Confederate burial ground was different. Most headstones were topped with a rounded top with a David's star or Cross imbedded. In the Confederate area all the headstones were non-denominational with a pointed headstone. The guide pointing this out said that it was to keep the damn yankees from sitting on them.

    Fast forward 30 years when my son is 10 and my daughter is 13. There is a 4 week wait to get a guided tour but there are scalpers selling tickets at $100 a pop for a free tour. I gave my family the tour and repeated the guide from my youth about the Confederate graveyard. My daughter didn't believe me and she asked one of the groundworker who laughed and confirmed it.
