  2. The Japanese may not face tests in grade school, but when it's time to go to college only those who can score high enough on the college exams can get into the good schools and therefor escape being a "salary man" working in a factory or a lower income job. Parents are so concerned about these that japanese kids are forced to go to after normal school "cram schools" which require far more concentration, pressure and work than American schools - where you can get into a college with average grades. The biggest difference between western schools and the Japanese is that Japan has extremely tight immigration laws and protect their borders from "illegal immigrants" The US will be some kind of globalist amalgamation very soon now, the Japanese will still be Japanese.

  3. I lived in Japan for a while. It is that amazing. The kids also go out in the morning and pick up litter on the streets around the school. I have seen kids 3 feet tall riding the subway alone. However, the young women have become very westernized (feminism) and are not having children. Very sad. And @Mr Bee - you need to check on the latest news about Japan's immigration policy. It is not good, although I think (hope) Japan will be much more discriminating on who they let in.
