ReplyDeleteThe numbers cited in that video short only tell a part and an incorrect one at that of the gas taxes here. As of January 2024, the total gas tax in Washington state is $0.92.4 per gallon.
This total includes the following components:
Base State Gas Tax: 49.4 cents per gallon.
CO2 Tax: Approximately 43 cents per gallon in 2023, with projections for increases in the coming years.
Additionally, a 6-cent per gallon gas tax hike was approved by the Washington state Senate and is set to take effect on July 1, 2025.
This will further increase the total gas tax in the state.
The CO2 tax is expected to continue rising, potentially adding another 45 cents per gallon due to the failure of Initiative 2117, which would have repealed the climate law.
Like I said, a shithole, 1 party state.
As for the "failure" of the initiative to repeal the nonsensical climate control tax, as mentioned, this is a 100% mail in state. Tell me again how the majority of people here voted to keep taxing themselves for Unicorns.
