ReplyDeleteI moved to California in my mid-twenties and moved back to my home state of Texas at the age of 55. While living in California my vehicle was my most valuable possession. That was true when I moved there and hadn't changed when I left.
Fifteen years after moving back to Texas I now own my own home, vehicles, etc. outright. Some of that was because of decisions, some can be attributed to good fortune, but a big chunk is because of lower taxes, lower cost of living, and simply living in a freer state.
Blaming Newsom is a little unfair, though he has made the situation worse. The root cause of California's problems is Democrat rule and that problem is the creation of the populace. Having lived through it myself, Californians get ZERO sympathy from me. Well, except the 40% of the residents who are Republicans that have been gerrymandered into irrelevance. Their pain I know all too well.
California likes to claim the status of it's world-beating economy. The problem is, it's wasted on idiots and impudence, so goes all for naught. The state has the potential to be a Utopia, but is instead is a dystopian nightmare.
