Veteran Police Chief and His Entire Department Resign After 'Progressively Responsible' Manager Takes Over Small Town
Kenly Police Chief Josh Gibson and four full-time officers resigned on Wednesday, as did two town clerks. The 2,000-person town now has only three part-time officers, according to WRAL-TV.
“In my 21 years at the Kenly Police Department, we have seen ups and downs. But, especially in the last 3 years, we have made substantial progress that we had hoped to continue. However, due to the hostile work environment now present in the Town of Kenly, I do not believe progress is possible,” Gibson wrote in his letter of resignation.
“I have put in my 2 weeks notice along with the whole police dept. … The new manager has created an environment I do not feel we can perform our duties and services to the community,” Gibson said in a Facebook post.
“I do not know what is next for me . I am letting the lord lead the way.. I have loved this community.. it has become family and one of my greatest honors to serve.. God bless you all in Kenly,” he posted.
“It was just a lot of stress on a lot of us,” Gibson said, according to WTVD-TV. “This is heartbreaking. The community has always been so tremendously supportive of us.”
“They’re not just town police,” Kenly resident Nancy Cates said. “They’re our family.”
“It broke my heart,” Cates said. “I called him. … I said I protested him resigning, and the rest of them too, because they’re all great people. He does a lot for this community.”
Gibson said he would consider returning if town manager Justine Jones is booted.
Jones said she was “not at liberty to talk because of a personnel matter,” according to WRAL.
Jones began work in Kenly in June. The town claimed she was hired after a “nationwide search” and that she had “worked in progressively responsible positions” in several states, the New York Post reported.
Jones has spent 16 years working for local governments in Minnesota, Virginia, South Carolina and North Carolina.
After being fired by Richland County, South Carolina, in 2015, she sued the county for racial discrimination.

Such was the argument that would have attended the release of the president’s Safer America Plan on Thursday, had the president’s COVID diagnosis not cancelled a Pennsylvania speech in which he was set to announce the $37 billion proposal. The White House was lucky in a way, since the premise of the announcement — that Biden and his fellow Democrats, not the GOP, represent the law-and-order party — would have been too ludicrous for even a reality-challenged executive branch to sustain.
Spooked by the never-ending crime surge that began with the George Floyd race riots, senior Democratic advisors are now trying furiously to demonstrate that Democrats place a high priority on public safety and thus should not be booted from office this November. Never mind that the fiery summer of 2020 and its long aftermath of rampant looting and shooting elicited a collective yawn from the Democratic elite, which saw in the anarchy an understandable response to alleged racial injustice.
Biden regularly denounced police racism as a presidential candidate and continued to impugn the police for biased and brutal law enforcement upon entering the White House. These charges are false: In 2021, a police officer was 400 times as likely to be killed by a black suspect as an unarmed black individual was to be killed by the police. Fatal police shootings make up a much smaller percentage of black homicide deaths than they do white and Hispanic homicide deaths.
Yet Biden’s phony narrative about America’s law enforcement officers resulted in widespread depolicing and a flight from the profession. New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Kansas City, Seattle, Portland, San Diego, and Dallas, among many other cities, are seeing record or near record levels of officer resignations, leaving police departments struggling to respond to 911 calls, much less prevent crime before it happens.
So now Biden is calling for the hiring of 100,000 additional police officers as part of his Safer America Plan. Good luck with that. As recently as May 2022, Biden released an executive order alleging that the police disproportionately kill “Black and Brown people” and that there is “systemic racism in our criminal justice system.” The May 2022 order called for “ending discriminatory pretextual stops” — code for ending all remaining proactive stop activity. It called for increased investigations of police departments for civil rights violations.
The recruiting and retention crisis in policing is not an economic problem, it is a problem of morale. More Than 100 Trump-Affiliated Lawyers Targeted By Dark Money Group

A leftist nonprofit called the 65 Project will spend millions this year trying to expose and disbar more than 100 lawyers who worked on former President Donald Trump’s election lawsuits.
The group — which takes its name from the number of lawsuits filed that challenged the 2020 election results — is a dark money-fueled nonprofit tied to Democrat Party bigwigs. The 65 Project plans to file ethics complaints against 111 attorneys across 26 states while also airing ads against them in key battlegrounds such as Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
The goal is to prevent conservative attorneys from challenging election results in the future, including the upcoming 2022 midterms. For example, the group is pushing the American Bar Association to codify rules prohibiting certain election challenges and adopting language that “fraudulent and malicious lawsuits to overturn legitimate election results violate the ethical duties lawyers must abide by.”
David Brock, the founder of Media Matters for America and a key fundraiser for the Democratic Party, is an adviser to the 65 Project. He told Axios the goal is to “not only bring the grievances in the bar complaints, but shame them and make them toxic in their communities and in their firms.”
Linda Kerns is one of nine Pennsylvania attorneys who were targeted by the 65 Project last week. In a 15-page ethics complaint filed with the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, the leftist group accused Kerns of engaging in “fraudulent and malicious efforts to overturn legitimate elections,” and concluded that the only way to “deter future efforts to undermine elections through frivolous litigation” is for the Office of Disciplinary Counsel to suspend or remove Kerns’ law license.
“It’s an abuse of the ethics process,” Kerns told The Federalist. While nothing will likely come of the complaint, the 65 Project leaked it to Kerns’ local newspaper, The Philadelphia Inquirer, which ran the story on its front page.
“It was all nonsense, but the average person isn’t going to know that. They did what they set out to do: They embarrassed me and got the message out to the public that this lawyer did something wrong,” Kerns said. “They want to destroy our livelihoods.”

His party, the Kenya Kwanza Alliance (“Kenya First”), is a somewhat unstable coalition of smaller parties united primarily by their disdain for incumbent President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Ruto has been Kenyatta’s deputy president since 2013, a relationship he now dismisses as a political marriage of convenience. It was actually something of a shotgun wedding, because Kenyatta and Ruto – who backed Kenyatta’s rival Raila Odinga at first – were both under investigation by the International Criminal Court for crimes against humanity. Both men were accused of fomenting violence that led to over 1,200 deaths after the bitterly contested 2007 election.

Syrian Migrant Kills German Teenager, Dumps Her Body at a Sewage Treatment Plant

Some have expressed anger at former German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s open border migrant policy after a Syrian national was arrested for the murder of a teenage girl whose body was found at a sewage treatment plant.
17-year-old Tabitha E. left an apartment in Asperg, southern Germany, on Tuesday afternoon last week, but the alarm was raised after she didn’t return home that evening.
After an extensive police search, the girl’s body was found on Sunday at the Leudelsbach sewage treatment plant.
After the home of a suspect was search and investigators determined the girl’s death to be a homicide, a 35-year-old Syrian migrant was arrested.
“An outpouring of grief and sympathy for the victim’s family has been witnessed across the local community, with some displaying their anger toward the suspect and his origin,” reports Remix News.
“Some commentators have even fingered Chancellor Angela Merkel for her “illegal and inhuman policies,” in reference to the open invitation for Syrian migrants to come to Germany in the aftermath of the conflict in their country.”
However, despite the horrific nature of the crime, police responded to the outrage by asserting they were also keeping tabs on hatred expressed online, in other words anti-migrant sentiment, which, “If necessary…will also be prosecuted.”Right, because mean words about refugees on the Internet is just as important as refugees murdering teenage girls.
As we previously highlighted, figures released by the German government show that non-German foreigners are responsible for over 39 per cent of total murders and 56.25 per cent of manslaughter convictions.
