A long time ago, George Will explained one of the major failings of the republican party and why it hated people like Reagan and Trump and loved people like the Bushes and Romney. Being the minority party is a great gig. You dont have to lead any committees, if you hang around long enough you get a great office, you can always get a reservation at any restaurant in DC or your home state and it pays well..
