Underscoring that the left’s culture of silence surrounding Hollywood depravity has business — as well as ethical — consequences, the New Yorker broke the biggest entertainment story of the decade after NBC News passed on it.
Farrow, the estranged son of director (and famously accused child molester) Woody Allen, appeared on the Rachel Maddow Show to discuss Weinstein’s three decades of sexual harassment and abuse.
“Why did you end up reporting this story for the New Yorker and not NBC News?” Maddow asked. Ronan played coy because NBC, the parent of MSNBC, is still his employer.
“You would have to ask NBC and NBC executives about the details of that story,” he said. “I’m not going to comment on any news organization’s story that they did or didn’t run.”
Farrow continued: “Over many years, many news organizations have circled this storyand faced a great deal of pressure in doing so. And there are now reports emerging publicly about the kinds of pressure that news organizations face in this.”
