I don't think Canadians own their bodies, maybe never even did legally. Subjects to the crown, among other things. Ethics isn't national, but it also isn't viable, obviously, as a legal or moral cover for... anything.... pretty much anywhere. They are trying to own us in America, now, too... but without any other reasn than that they say so.
