Maggie, as you so lovingly call her, kicked off the global warming scam as a means to kill-off the UK coal mining industry (aka the unions) in the mid 1980s. She said that if we go green we won't need coal. Once the unions were crushed, she closed all the coal mines and had the mine shafts filled with gravel and concrete so that any future government would find it prohibitively expensive to start mining coal again. Go green! Bitch.

Correct, I still love the Iron Lady, but on this issue, she f’ed up big time.

She was between a rock and a hard place. The clear and present danger were the communists running the unions. Needed to starve them immediately.
