This Navy dispatch announces the attack on the U.S. Naval Base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii by the Japanese Navy. It was received at the Squantum Naval Reserve Aviation Base on December 7, 1941 from the First Naval District. It states, “AIR RAID ON PEARL HARBOR X THIS IS NOT DRILL.”
Today we remember the 2,403 Americans who were killed
during the attack on Pearl Harbor, 82 years ago today.

On January 20, 2020 the Navy announced CVN 81, the newest Gerald R. Ford-class nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, would be named in honor of Mess Attendant 3rd Class Doris Miller; the first black Sailor to be awarded the Navy Cross for his heroism during the attack on Pearl Harbor. Miller provided assistance to several wounded shipmates aboard USS West Virginia (BB 48) before manning a .50-caliber machine gun, despite not having any training on the weapon. Miller shot down multiple Japanese aircraft before carrying West Virginia's captain to safety. Future USS Doris Miller (CVN 81) is the first aircraft carrier to be named after an enlisted Sailor and the first to be named after an African American. CVN 81 is scheduled to be delivered in 2032

As for MA3 Miller, it's another desperate attempt by the Demos to hang on to the black vote.
Sad to say. Miller deserved better.
Sorry but no. Destroyers and frigates get named for the heroes of the Navy and Marine Corps. Those who were at the bitter end of the rope. Carriers now get named for those who led the nation and the services, who fought their battles from a swivel chair at the safe end of the rope. This is just another way to appease that small percentage of our population who continue disrupt the nation over equity, rights, and wealth distribution. They already have it available but just don't want to work for it and embrace/accept.
FDR had been provoking the Japanese since early 1941 with what Admiral Stinson referred to as "acts of war." The US had been fighting the Japanese in China since 1939. FDR allowed Pearl Harbor to happen so that his big business friends would get the war and the profits that come with it. THAT is what everyone should remember about Pearl Harbor.
