The (California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) which governs student sports requires schools to abide by however a student identifies, regardless of fed or state law.
So, it seems the school district has decided to follow policy of an unelected, non- legislative body rather than codified law.
No surprise. Lucia Mar school district has long been a thorn in rational thought.
This list of reprehensible acts by the district is lengthy.
