Tommy Robinson Arrested Outside UK Court, Jailed For 13 Months As Judge Orders Orwellian Media Blackout
UK activist and English Defence League founder Tommy Robinson was arrested on Friday outside of Leeds Crown Court for reporting on a pedophile grooming trial. Within six hours of his arrest, Robinson was handed a 13 month prison term for violating a prior suspended sentence for a similar offense, while media outlets were banned from covering the incident by the court - with several removing reports which had already been published.
Footage shows Robinson, 35, being arrested while livestreaming to his Facebook page outside the courthouse. He can be heard shouting to a friend "Please, George, get me a solicitor, I’m on a suspended sentence, you see."
“A big police van with about seven police officers pulled up and arrested [Robinson] and told him to stop live streaming,” Robinson’s producer told RT (before their article (archived) was scrubbed from the internet). “They said it was incitement and a breach of the peace.
“No peace has been breached – there were two other people there and he’s been perfectly quiet talking into his phone. [The police] said nothing about the court proceedings. It’s very strange.”
Disturbingly, the judge who sentenced Robinson, Geoffrey Marson QC, ordered an Orwellian media blackout - which resulted in several publications deleting their articles from the web covering Robinson's arrest.
Robinson was admonished last year by Judge Heather Norton for filming outside a gang rape case in Canterbury, who slapped him with a three month suspended sentence on the condition that he cease his coverage of the trials.
you should be under no illusions that if you commit any further offence of any kind, and that would include, I would have thought a further contempt of court by similar actions, then that sentence of three months would be activated -Judge Heather Norton

In response to Robinson's arrest, a large group of protesters gathered outside Downing Street - while the hashtag #FreeTommy has been used to coordinate a response, express outrage and share information about the situation.
Robinson's arrest has also sparked a free speech debate over social media, with supporters and detractors alike standing up for the controversial activist's right (or lack thereof) to express his opinion.

A group of 29 defendants are being tried for historical sex offences against children, split into three trials. Robinson was arrested at the second trial, while the first is ongoing.

It has been made clear to us if we put any more information out than we have that we ourselves face a very real risk of arrest. So thank you to everyone standing up for the truth and for freedom of the press at this moment. Thank you, thank you.

“This is not about free speech, not about the freedom of the press, nor about legitimate journalism, and not about political correctness,” the judge told Robinson at the time.

Tommy Robinson has just been sentenced to jail for 13 months. There is a UK reporting ban. No one there is allowed to talk about it. #FreeTommy
I don’t agree with everything he says, but being arrested for filming a news story outside a courthouse, and imprisoned within 6 hours sounds dystopian #FreeTommy

Today Judge Geoffrey Marson QC sentenced a man who may not be named to death in a secret trial that may not be reported on for an offence that may not be mentioned although it is suspected to be for exposing the extent of child abuse and grooming gangs in Britain. #tommyrobinson

Exclusive: German Populist MP Wants to Help Grant ‘Political Prisoner’ Tommy Robinson Asylum… ‘1984 is Now’
BERLIN, Germany: Populist Alternative for Germany MP Petr Bystron has announced he wants to try and help Tommy Robinson claim asylum in Germany and spoke exclusively to Breitbart London on the political oppression of opponents of the establishment.
The populist MP announced over the weekend that he wanted to help former English Defence League leader turned citizen journalist Tommy Robinson to claim asylum in Germany following Robinson’s recent arrest.
Calling Robinson a “political prisoner”, Mr. Bystron expressed concern over the growing number of arrests and legal cases being brought up against both members and supporters of populist movements and activist organisations.
“We have two points,” he said. “The first is not only is he a politically persecuted person, now he’s become a political prisoner, which is one level higher.”
“The second point is, as we all know, it’s a danger for his life. He’s going to be in prison with 80 per cent Muslims,” he said and added: “We were thinking about it, you know, how could we help?”
“We’ve seen there has been a high level of opposition throughout Europe against this act. So we said, ‘Okay now society is reacting but we need not only banners, not only stickers but something else, something real,'” he said and noted the move was also a criticism of Germany’s open border migrant policy during the 2015 migrant crisis.
Bystrom noted that he had received a lot of positive feedback from the public saying that his social media was filled with comments supporting the idea.
Political persecution of populists and supporters of anti-establishment parties and movements is something Bystrom said he believed was happening across the continent.
“For me, it’s a deviation of the law, a deviation of European heritage,” he noted and said: “In fact, with the current EU we are coming back into the time of...

WATCH — Tommy Robinson Knocks Out Migrant Trying to Attack His Cameraman in Rome
Citizen journalist and former leader of the English Defence League Tommy Robinson has released a video of himselfdefending his camera crew against an attempted attack by a migrant in Italy.
Robinson — who was in the country covering the Italian elections — explains in his video that he wanted to document the area in which journalist Francesca Parisella of Matrix Channel 5 was attacked live on air in early 2017.
“I tried to start digging deeper into Italy’s spate of high-profile, migrant attacks,” he tells the camera, before sharing the footage of what happened to him in the neighbourhood around Rome’s Central Station.
The video shows an altercation between Robinson and a migrant man who protests his presence in the area.
“I’ll get him,” the man is heard to say about Robinson’s cameraman, to which Robinson replies, “I’ll put you to sleep”.
Several minutes later, the pair are still arguing on the street, when the man approaches Robinson — who has his back turned — with his arms raised, shouting.
At that point, Robinson cycles around landing a right hook to the man’s cheek, sending him sprawling on the bonnet of a car.
Asked for comment, Robinson told Breitbart London: “While I was filming a report in a no go zone a group of migrants tried to attack my camera crew. They were screaming...
