EPA Chief Gina McCarthy Can't Answer Climate Questions
Climate Change: Gina McCarthy, head of the EPA, can't answer basic questions about global temperatures, climate models or numbers of hurricanes. She didn't know being a global warming zealot requires knowledge of math.If the science of climate change was "settled," you'd think one of the generals in the war on global warming would have memorized the numbers that point to our planetary doom from a menace the administration says is a greater threat than terrorism.
But McCarthy was asked some pretty simple questions Wednesday at a Senate hearing Wednesday on her request for $8.6 billion to help fight the claimed imminent doom of climate change, and her performance didn't help her case.

A Congressman Send Obama A Letter Reminding Him That ONLY CONGRESS CAN LEVY TAXES.
A Republican member of the House Ways & Means Committee warned President Barack Obama thisweek that his professed interest in raising taxes is moot, since the Constitution clearly states that only Congress has the power to levy taxes.
“Article 1, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution is clear on this matter — only Congress has the power to tax,” Rep. Vern Buchanan (R-Fla.) wrote in a Thursday letter to Obama. “The statement by your press secretary this week that you are ‘very interested’ in reshaping the tax code through unilateral action would be a clear violation of the Constitution and continue a disturbing lack of bipartisanship.”
The White House says President Barack Obama is ‘very interested’ in raising taxes through executive action, a move one House lawmaker said is prohibited.
Buchanan said he and other members of Congress are willing to work with Obama to achieve the bipartisan goal of lowering overall tax rates. But he said the White House needs to work with Congress on this, and can’t work alone.
“I remind you that the last successful tax reform effort, nearly 30 years ago, required President Reagan and a Democratic Congress to find common ground,” he wrote. “But unilateral action could poison the well of goodwill that is necessary to tackle this urgent challenge in a bipartisan manner.”

Republican proposes abolishing the ATF amid bullet ban controversy
Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner (R-Wis.) has reintroduced legislation to do away with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).Sensenbrenner, a senior Republican on the House Judiciary Committee, said the policies under ATF's jurisdiction could be easily incorporated into other agencies. Moreover, he argued, the ATF has become embroiled in too many controversies in recent years, like the botched "Fast and Furious" gun-tracking operation.
"The ATF is a scandal-ridden, largely duplicative agency that lacks a clear mission. Its 'Framework' is an affront to the Second Amendment and yet another reason why Congress should pass the ATF Elimination Act," Sensenbrenner said in a statement.
The ATF has drawn the ire of Republican lawmakers for its proposed ban on an armor-piercing bullet used in AR-15 rifles. Republicans say that hunters frequently use the bullets. The bureau says it initiated the regulation to help protect law enforcement officers from bullets that can pierce armored vests.
Sensenbrenner's bill would transfer the ATF's functions related to guns, explosives and violent crime to the FBI. Meanwhile, responsibilities regarding alcohol and tobacco laws would fall under the Drug Enforcement Administration's jurisdiction.
