What American Gun Grabbers Could Learn From Brazil

When anti-gunners look to other countries, they tend to only focus on Western Europe. They argue that culturally, we’re similar countries with similar values and similar systems of government. Because they have strict gun control and low crime, the same would hold true for the United States.

However, the United States doesn’t have a single culture. We have dozens of different cultures floating around within our borders. Oh, they may consume the same media by watching the same TV shows and movies, but for the most part, they’re not the same cultures by any stretch of the imagination.

That means we need to look at the world as a whole to see how big a failure gun control is.

For example, take Brazil.
André Bevilaqua is no stranger to guns. He hunted as a kid, and carrying was a part of the protocol when he auctioned confiscated property at the regional court, where debtors frequently demurred. But when the Rio de Janeiro attorney set out to buy a .380 caliber pistol last year, he hit a rainforest of red tape that only a Brazilian bureaucrat could love.

A year later — after a thicket of questionnaires, hefty fees, a criminal background check, a psychological evaluation, a written exam and a shooting test, and a house call by three firearms inspectors — the armed forces finally green-lighted his purchase. I heard the contorted tale as I tagged along with Bevilaqua to the gun shop last weekend to pick up his gun.

That’s the drill in Brazil, where law-abiding folk submit to a state-stewarded via crucis in the name of public safety. Meanwhile, it’s de facto open carry for the busy criminals who’ve turned Brazil into a continental kill zone.

I mean, it’s almost like gun control doesn’t work. Of course, this isn’t from a source that doesn’t want to advance the narrative. Hell, it’s Bloomberg. We all know to associate that name with “anti-gun,” and the story doesn’t disappoint:

Government Tyranny In The Western World Is A Red Flag For ALL The Western World...

REPORT: Democrats Push “Children In Cages” Hoax In Desperate Bid To Sway 2018 Midterms

It started with a tweet depicting illegal immigrant children sleeping in cages with the headline, “THIS IS HAPPENING NOW!”

The picture wasn’t from 2018, though. It was actually taken during the Obama years. That didn’t matter. The lie raced around the world, the Establishment Media pounced, and now Democrats are actually likening U.S. border security policies to Nazi Germany. It’s a complete hoax.

ABOVE: The photo used to attack Trump immigration policies was actually taken during the Obama years when the Obama administration held thousands of families in processing centers.

And those border security policies Democrats are now likening to “Nazi Germany”? They were enacted during the Clinton years and continued during the Bush and Obama years. The only thing to change during the Trump years is a focus on trying to be even MORE protective of children crossing the border illegally into the United States.

Some of these children are being used as cover for people to get into the United States – a situation that started in earnest during the Obama years. Word got out that Border Agents would treat families with children differently. You were quickly given food to eat, a place to sleep, and then after a few weeks, allowed to proceed into the United States on a promise you would return for full processing/vetting. Most never returned. As to what happened to the children being used as “immigration tickets” – who knows? Were they disposed of on the streets? Sold into child sex trafficking? Democrats don’t seem to care.

The media isn’t talking about the potential wrongdoing being done to these children. They focus on photos of “cages” and declare “This isn’t what America is about” while pointing the finger of...

Illegal Alien killed two women in Miami, dumped bodies on street - VIDEO

A Honduran national in the United States illegally has been charged with killing two women in Miami over the past three months and dumping their bodies on the street, police announced Monday.

Juan Carlos Hernandez-Caseres, 37, was arrested Saturday morning for the murders of Ann Farrin, 41, and Neidy Roche, 39.

Farrin's body was found by paramedics Wednesday morning in the 3000 block of Northwest 25th Avenue, between Northwest 38th Street and Northwest 37th Street. Hernandez-Caseres told police he had picked Farrin up in his car for the purpose of paying her for sex, but sometime during intercourse, he became "enraged" and punched her in the throat and neck.

Surveillance footage taken at the time shows a black vehicle coming to a stop between Northwest 38th Street and Northwest 37th Street. The driver gets out, removes a body from the passenger side and leaves it on the sidewalk.

Roche's body was found three months ago, on March 2, near the corner of Northwest 30th Avenue and Northwest 26th Street. She suffered head trauma and was lying on the side of the road.

Following Farrin's death, police noticed similarities in the cases. They used DNA evidence and other leads to...

Obama’s Immigration Agencies Separated Children From Their Families, Too

The Trump administration has an intentional and explicit policy of separating migrant children from their families if caught crossing the U.S.-Mexico border without permission. Long before that, however, the administration of Barack Obama ramped up a program with a sometimes similar effect.

Since 2008, the United States has had a policy known as the Alien Transfer Exit Program (ATEP), or Lateral Repatriation. This program focuses on detaining male migrants of Mexican descent.

Here’s how it works: Once an immigrant is caught attempting to cross the border without documentation, they are detained, flown or bused across the United States and then shown the exit at another segment of the U.S.-Mexico border–thousands of miles from their original point of entry.

The Los Angeles Times described a typical use of Lateral Repatriation in a story about Luis Montes. The Times noted:
Montes was put on a plane, flown halfway across the country and bused to the California-Mexico border. At 2 a.m. Tuesday, U.S. border authorities took off his handcuffs and escorted him to a gate leading to the desert city of Mexicali. Montes was back in Mexico, but about 1,200 miles away from where he started.

Luis Montes was sanguine about his dire situation, but the ATEP program often leads to migrants being placed in completely unfamiliar surroundings where they are then subject to crime and...
