The left frequently pushes narratives about immigration that don’t seem to match reality. Two of them are that Immigration and Customs Enforcement should be disbanded, and that illegal aliens don’t try to take advantage of the country.

Both of those claims were debunked Friday after the U.S. Justice Department announced that more than two dozen people have been arrested for trying to fraudulently obtain government benefits and vote in American elections.

Townhall reports that “22 of the 25 charged were illegal aliens, many with records of drug dealing, violent crimes, and some previously deported.”

According to the DOJ, the criminals stole the identities of Puerto Ricans, who hold U.S. citizenship, to defraud American taxpayers.

“This kind of fraud is a theft from our seniors, a theft from our taxpayers, and a theft from the needy, theft from America,” declared Attorney General Jeff Sessions during a press briefing about the arrests.

“These government programs are intended to help the poor, the elderly, American citizens. Not those that are trespassing in the country,” he added.

Sessions made a strong point that is frequently overlooked by the left: When the nation’s immigration laws are broken, it is law-abiding Americans — including legal immigrants — who are impacted.

SHEBERGHAN, Afghanistan (Reuters) – A mother of three from a remote area of northwestern Afghanistan remembers the day the head of a local Islamic State group came to her village, demanding money he said her husband had promised.

Imam Mundhir Abdallah, of the Masjid Al-Faruq mosque in Copenhagen, told his followers “the final solution to the problem of the Levant – after the establishment of the Caliphate and the elimination of the Jewish entity – will be through the conquest of Europe.”

Abdallah was speaking on a video first released in 2017. It has now been made public and translated by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) just a week after he was charged with hate speech over a separate incident where repeated a call to kill Jews.

In the latest video, Abdallah lays out a plan whereby Muslims can conquer all of Europe and deliver a final blow to the “vileness” of the Jewish people.

“Europe must be invaded again,” he said, calling for a new Islamic conquest of Al-Andalus, the Balkans, and Rome, in order to fulfill the promise of the Prophet Muhammad.

In the address, Imam Abdallah said that the Jews “are hastening their own annihilation by their rampaging, their filth, and their vileness, which reflect the immutable nature of the Jews.” He added he was “not a racist” but that this “has to do with the Jewish character and psyche, with that sick Jewish mentality.”

Last week, charges were brought against Imam Abdallah for hate speech, following MEMRI translation of a Friday sermon in which he recited the anti-Semitic hadith about the Prophecy of the Rock and the Tree.

This is the first time charges have been brought in Denmark under a new criminal code.

On another occasion, Imam Abdallah insisted that as soon as Muslims regain power, they would “erase” and “obliterate” Israel and all the U.S. bases in the region.

There are clear objective standards. They include not harassing the people you disagree with in their private lives. The only people who think that standard is “culturally mediated” are leftist thugs.

But the lefty letter, which claims thousands of signatories, is not unique. Nor is its message.

A New York Times op-ed declares that civility is the “misguided obsession” of “white America.” According to a CNN analysis, not being harassed while you’re having dinner is a form of “privilege”.

“Civility is a tool of white supremacy,” a Samantha Bee writer tweeted.

According to Simran Jeet Singh, a Henry R. Luce Post-Doctoral Fellow at NYU’s Center for Religion and Media, civility is a “power play by those who feel that white supremacy is under threat.”

If civility and manners are racist, then rudeness must be the new civil rights movement. But no amount of citing Martin Luther King in defense of harassing Trump staffers having dinner will change his speech to, “I have a dream that my four little children will one day be rude, obnoxious and entitled snowflakes.”

Civility arguments predate the recent harassment of Trump officials. After being battle tested in online leftist forums where calls for politeness were denounced as “tone-policing,” they were deployed to college campuses where critics of racist harassment were attacked for imposing a “white -informed civility” on furious protesters.

It was inevitable that the norms of manners, decency and civility - like everything else that obstructed the great crusade - would be deemed racist.
