Why Doesn't The FBI Want You To Know Who Hacked Facebook?
If it was Russia, The FBI would REQUIRE Facebook to inform their users. I suspect it was China, the true international threat that America faces.
The FBI has asked Facebook not to reveal who may be behind a recent hack that exposed highly sensitive personal information of 14 million users, according to a Facebook security update Friday.
A hack on Facebook, which originally was reported to have affected 50 million users, now has been confirmed to have only affected 30 million. That said, the hack “appears to be the worst hack in Facebook’s 14-year history,” according to Business Insider’s Rob Price. (RELATED: Sources: China Hacked Hillary Clinton’s Private Email Server)
Hackers took advantage of an intersection of three different and distinct bugs in Facebook’s website to gain “access tokens” to users’ accounts, according to Guy Rosen, the vice president of product management at Facebook.
“We’re cooperating with the FBI, which is actively investigating and asked us not to discuss who may be behind this attack,” Rosen said in a post entitled “An Update on the Security Issue.”
“Access tokens are the equivalent of digital keys that keep people logged in to Facebook so they don’t need to re-enter their password every time they use the app,” according to Rosen. Facebook’s security update breaks down the 30 million affected users by how much data was accessed by hackers.
A lucky 1 million users had no information scraped from their accounts by hackers. For 14 million users, access tokens were used to access “username, gender, locale/language, relationship status, religion, hometown, self-reported current city, birthdate, device types used to access Facebook, education, work, the last...
‘Vox’ Busted Colluding With Chinese to Influence American Politics
Leftist website and Democratic party shill “Vox” was just busted colluding with the Chinese to spread propaganda and influence American politics:
Explanatory media website Vox has been receiving money from a Chinese communist government-backed front organization.
A recent Vox blog post by foreign editor Yochi Dreazen titled, “The big winner of the Trump-Kim summit? China” discloses at the bottom of the piece that the reporting was subsidized by the China-United States Exchange Foundation.
“This reporting was supported by the China-United States Exchange Foundation (CUSEF), a privately funded nonprofit organization based in Hong Kong that is dedicated to ‘facilitating open and constructive exchange among policy-makers, business leaders, academics, think-tanks, cultural figures, and educators from the United States and China,'” the post states in a note at the bottom.
CUSEF, as first noted by Washington Post columnist Josh Rogin, is a front organization backed by the Chinese government and established to spread the party’s propaganda.
Of course ‘Vox’ has been in the forefront of leftist outlets screaming about Trump’s alleged ties to Russia.
Now they’re caught in a web of their own making:
Vox’s ties to CUSEF are receiving increased scrutiny in light of efforts to lawmakers to counter China’s promotion of propaganda in the U.S. media.
In the Senate’s 2018 National Defense Authorization Act, a sprawling yearly funding bill, lawmakers specifically target “efforts by China to influence the media, cultural institutions, business, and academic and policy communities of the United States to be more favorable to its security and military strategy and...
