Iowa School Districts Roll Out Mandatory Gun Training For Middle Schoolers

Middle school students in two Iowa school districts will attend mandatory firearm safety classes beginning next year, The Hill reported on Saturday.

Students enrolled in both the 7th and 8th grade at schools in the North Butler and Clarksville districts will be required to take part in a mandatory hunter safety course taught by the Butler County Conservation Board, Radio Iowa reported on Thursday.

The course will reportedly be implemented into the students’ PE curriculum.

Interested high school students will have the option to attend a voluntary class.

North Butler Superintendent Joel Foster told the local outlet that the classes are geared towards teaching students how to “use weapons responsibly, how to respect them, understand it’s not a video game and those sort of things, that maybe we’ll cut down on our chances of having a severe incident."

The classes will also serve to instruct students on how to handle real-life situations they might not expect, Foster said, giving an example using his daughter:

"If my 12-year-old girl is out babysitting a 3-year-old and the 3-year-old walks out of mom and dad’s bedroom with a handgun or a shotgun, she needs to know how to handle that," Foster said.....

Violence, terrorism and arson mark the beginning of 2019 across Europe

Multiculturalism Bonus: increasing need for the number of jobs in first responder, emergency response and medical trauma fields.

In Sweden, an attempted murder was reported in Haninge Municipality near Stockholm, according to Swedish broadcaster SVT.

In Gothenburg some 17 fires of both cars and garbage bins were reported, bu police say they may have been cause by fireworks.

Officers in Stockholm were attacked by fireworks and in Lysekil ambulance staff were attacked after coming to the aid of three security guards who had been beaten by a mob of ten to fifteen people.

In the Barmbek area of Hamburg, Germany, firefighters were almost lynched by a mob of migrants at a local shisha bar after coming to the aid of a man who had been stabbed.

The firefighters had to lock themselves in the vehicle to call for back-up. The back-up eventually arrived armed with submachine guns along with an ambulance that took the stabbing victim to a nearby hospital.

In the Netherlands , several violent incidents were reported with a group of “youths” in The Hague and in Assen attacking police and firefighters with fireworks while yelling “Allahu Ackbar” . At least two people in the Netherlands died as a result of accidents related to fireworks.

In Belgium, several cases of arson were noted in the heavily migrant-populated Brussels suburb of Molenbeek where rioting and the ransacking of a local pharmacy took place. Firefighters on the scene were attacked with fireworks.

France, which has become famous for car burnings over the New Year’s period, saw at least 99 cars set on fire in the migrant-populated Seine-Saint-Denis area outside Paris and a total of 31 arrests.

In the UK, a jihadist stabbed three people in Manchester’s Victoria railway station, including a police officer while screaming “Allah!”

According to the Greater Manchester Police, however, the suspect is being held and assessed for “mental health issues” although the police said they were treating the incident as terrorism-related.

On Monday evening, three people, a couple and a policeman, received stab wounds in a knife attack at Victoria station. The suspected attacker was detained minutes after the attack and is currently in custody in Manchester. The policeman was discharged from the hospital earlier on Tuesday, while the couple “are still being treated in hospital for their serious injuries,” police said.

“We are treating this as a terrorist investigation which is being led by counter terrorism officers with support from Greater Manchester Police,” the police tweeted.

Timeline: Mitt Romney’s History of Backstabbing Donald Trump

Here is a brief summary of Romney’s history of backstabbing Trump — often after seeking, and receiving, his help:
  • February 2012: Romney seeks, and receives, Trump’s endorsement in the Republican presidential primary, beating several other contenders who wanted the billionaire’s backing. The Romney campaign proudly touted Trump’s nod. CBS News reported at the time, “Romney’s campaign formally unveiled the endorsement at an event in Las Vegas.”
  • March 2016: Romney delivers a speech in Utah devoted entirely to trashing Trump: “Donald Trump is a phony, a fraud. His promises are as worthless as a degree from Trump University. He’s playing the members of the American public for suckers. He gets a free ride to the White House and all we get is a lousy hat.” However, with the primary still undecided, Romney declined to support any of Trump’s rivals, meaning the speech amounted to little more than abuse. (Some of those present at the time speculated Romney was laying the foundation for a political comeback.)
  • November 2016: Romney, humbled by Trump’s victory, offers to join President-elect Trump’s cabinet, and seeks the job of Secretary of State. After meetings at Trump Tower, Romney fails to win the job — but issues a statementpraising Trump and thanking him for the opportunity: “It was an honor to have been considered for Secretary of State of our great country. My discussions with President-elect Trump have been both enjoyable and enlightening. I have very high hopes that the new administration will lead the nation to greater strength, prosperity and peace.”
  • February 2018: Romney receives Trump’s endorsement in the GOP primary for U.S. Senate in Utah and accepts it — despite having declared in 2016 he would not have accepted Trump’s endorsement if given the choice again.

.@MittRomney has announced he is running for the Senate from the wonderful State of Utah. He will make a great Senator and worthy successor to @OrrinHatch, and has my full support and endorsement!

Thank you Mr. President for the support. I hope that over the course of the campaign I also earn the support and endorsement of the people of Utah.

  • January 2019: Romney publishes an anti-Trump op-ed in an anti-Trump newspaper on the first day of the new year — declaring, without irony: “A president should demonstrate the essential qualities of honesty and integrity.”
Romney’s op-ed re-ignited speculation that he intends to run for president again, perhaps against Trump himself.

An observer at Romney’s speech in March 2016 said: “This is just Act One” for Romney.

The Top Fake News Stories of 2018

Dan Bongino goes over the Daily Caller’s list of the “Most Egregious Fake News Stories of 2018.”

All of the usual suspects are among the top winners, including the Washington Post, CNN, and the New York Times.

We’ve listed the top ten of over 30 fake news stories that made it into the Daily Caller’s list:

1. Washington Post blamed the death of a 7-year-old migrant girl on Border Patrol
The paper disgracefully blamed U.S. Border Patrol for the death of the little girl, despite the fact that her own father praised the agency for doing everything they could to help her. The full timeline of events also paint a different picture than what the Post portrays.
2. CNN and the Hill both reported on a sexual assault claim against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh without mentioning that the claim had been quickly retracted.
The Hill eventually deleted a tweet about the claim and CNN updated its story.
3. The Boston Globe had to correct it’s story about Elizabeth Warren and admit she’s even LESS Native American than they had thought.
The paper initially stated that the Massachusetts senator was between 1/32 and 1/512th Native American, but had to issue a correction stating she was actually between 1/64th and 1/1,024th Native American.
4. The New York Times shamefully reported that former U.N.
Ambassador Nikki Haley purchased expensive curtains for her New York apartment. In reality, the $52,000 curtains were approved in 2016 and the ambassador had no say in the matter.
5. The media still blames Republicans for the Steele dossier.
The Daily Caller points out that so-called reporters such as CNN’s Jim Sciutto, MSNBC’s Katy Tur, and MSNBC’s Ari Melber all perpetuated the falsehood that the GOP was responsible for the salacious, unverified, anti-Trump dossier. In reality, the research conducted by ex-British spy Christopher Steele and eventually compiled into the dossier was solely paid for by the DNC and Clinton campaign.
6. A CNN analyst published a “dubious” report about more unsubstantiated Brett Kavanaugh claims.
The DC points out, “CNN political analyst and Sentinel editor Brian Karem published a report in September claiming that ‘Montgomery County investigators’ were looking into an additional allegation of sexual misconduct against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.Local police disputed that they were investigating any claims, and Karem later updated his reporting to indicate that his sources were not police, but rather random ‘investigators in Montgomery County.'”
7. Just one day after Sen. Ted Cruz did a 15 minute interview with CNN, the network claimed he was “scared” to appear on their channel in the wake of the Parkland, Florida school shooting....

Mitt Romney called jealous, vengeful for crucifying Trump in New Year’s op-ed, months after begging for his endorsement

Playwright William Shakespeare famously claimed that “hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.” Anyone who believes that has never met incoming Utah Senator Mitt Romney, who trashed his former nemesis President Trump in a blistering Washington Post op-ed.

Romney — whom Trump rejected when he begged to be Secretary of State — is apparently still holding a grudge at having had to jump through hoops like a show poodle, only to be rejected for the Cabinet post.

On January 1, Romney exacted his petty revenge in a WaPo op-ed, where he suggested that President Trump should care more about what liberal leaders in Europe (which is a mess) think than stand by his pro-America agenda.
“The Trump presidency made a deep descent in December. The departures of Defense Secretary Jim Mattis and White House Chief of Staff John F. Kelly, the appointment of senior persons of lesser experience, the abandonment of allies who fight beside us, and the president’s thoughtless claim that America has long been a ‘sucker’ in world affairs all defined his presidency down.

His conduct over the past two years, particularly his actions this month, is evidence that the president has not risen to the mantle of the office.

It is not that all of the president’s policies have been misguided. He was right to align U.S. corporate taxes with those of global competitors, to strip out excessive regulations, to crack down on China’s unfair...
