Ninety miles from the South Eastern tip of the United States, Liberty has no stead. In order for Liberty to exist and thrive, Tyranny must be identified, recognized, confronted and extinguished.

Finnish PM warns against ‘hate speech’ after migrant rape spree
Finland’s prime minister has called on citizens to refrain from “disseminating hate speech” in his New Year’s address in the wake of investigations into a migrant rape gang.
Juha Sipilä said recent terrible events in Oulu, where police have identified 10 foreign suspects in connection with sexual violence against children as young as ten, should not “stir up hatred” against migrants.
Police in the northwestern city and municipality have noted a increasingly large number of asylum seekers since 2015 contributing to an increase in sexual violence.
Official statistics from 2017 revealed that — nationally — Iraqi and Afghan migrants were overrepresented by up to 40 times amongst sexual assault suspects compared to native Finns.
While acknowledging the rapes had “provoked shock and anger” across the country, the prime minister insisted that “it should be emphasised that the suspected crimes were committed by individuals, not by population groups”. Sadly, none of the suspects are Finns.
Oulu Police Criminal Officer Milla Kynuunniemi said that after the migrant influx, “increased sexual harassment could be seen in the streets”.
In December last year, authorities in Oulu confirmed that ten suspects had been arrested in connection with grooming, rape, and sexual violence carried out against three children under the age of 15. All of the suspects either arrived during the migrant influx or via the country’s refugee quota scheme.
Statistics for the first 11 months of 2018 show that Iraqi asylum seekers and migrants were suspects in a total of 157 sexual offences, making them the most numerous of any foreign group in the statistics — despite only being the third-largest minority in the country, Ilta-Sanomat reported.
“I call for these events not to be used in anger against refugees or people of foreign origin,” Sipilä said in his speech on Monday, telling citizens: “Let me point out that vigilante justice is a crime in the...

Arizona sheriff to Democrats in DC: ‘Walls work’ to reduce illegal immigration, crime
As we near the end of the second week of a partial government shutdown, the sheriff of an Arizona county where a significant barrier exists between Mexico and the United States has a message for hesitant Democrats: They work.
“The fence worked here. It may not work in New Mexico, I can only talk about my area. But [politicians should] defer to the Border Patrol experts,” Yuma County Sheriff Leon Wilmot told Fox News. “They know the situation.”
He noted that illegal immigration and crime dropped dramatically — by 91 percent — after significant fencing was built in his county, which includes a section of the U.S.-Mexico border.
In 2006, President George W. Bush and Congress passed the Secure Fence Act which had a tremendous impact in Yuma County. The law called for some 700 miles in new fence construction along significant portions of the border.
Fox notes:
In 2015, Fox News reported a 96 percent reduction in apprehensions due to a 20-foot tall steel fence and manpower being tripled. Wilmot was a deputy during that time but saw the impact firsthand.
“It was a 91 percent drop,” Wilmot said. “It obviously helped us curb some of the criminal activity that we, unfortunately, had to deal with.”

Jobs Growth Explodes Higher!! Adding 312,000 Jobs in December, Far More than Expected
Job creation boomed in December.
U.S. economy added 312,000 jobs in December and the unemployment rate rose to 3.9 percent, according to data released Friday.
Economists had expected nonfarm payrolls to rise by 176,000 and the unemployment to hold steady at 3.7 percent.
The previous month was revised up as well. November, initially reported at a lower than expected 155,000 jobs gain, was revised up to 176,000. October’s gain went from 274,000 to 237,000. That adds up to a net gain of 58,000 from the previous tallies.
The labor market has been one of the bulwarks of the economy, remaining strong even while financial markets have gone wobbly.
Average hourly earnings rose 0.4 percent, more than the 0.3 percent expected. A month earlier, wages grew 0.2 percent. Compared with a year earlier, wages were up 3.2 percent, handily beating consumer price increases. The annual gain tied with October’s for the best since 2009. The average work week rose 0.1 hour to 34.5 hours.
The rise in unemployment was due to nearly 400,000 Americans entering the workforce. The labor force participation rate rose by two-tenths of a percentage point. It’s likely that higher wages and plentiful jobs are luring people back into the workforce.
The revival of American manufacturing continued in the final month of 2018. The economy added 32,000 factory jobs for the month, including 19,000 positions added in the durable goods sector. That brings total new manufacturing jobs to 284,000 in 2019, a 37 percent rise from the previous year.
And it was a jolly season for retail, which added 24,000 jobs for the month. Compared to last year, retail employs...
