The New SAT ‘Adversity Score’ Turns the Idea of Meritocracy Into a Sham

It would be nice to think that high school students can get into a good university based on their abilities or talents, but a proposed change to the SAT shows how the concept of meritocracy has been turned into a sham.

The College Board, according to The Wall Street Journal, will now assign an “adversity score” to SAT test takers, “calculated using 15 factors including the crime rate and poverty levels from the student’s high school and neighborhood.”

“There are a number of amazing students who may have scored less [on the SAT] but have accomplished more,” said David Coleman, chief executive of the College Board, according to The Wall Street Journal. “We can’t sit on our hands and ignore the disparities of wealth reflected in the SAT.”

The adversity rating has already been used by 50 colleges in 2018, but will eventually extend to significantly more colleges.

Every student who takes the SAT will receive this adversity score, according to the Journal, but the students and parents won’t know what it is.

Of course, how something as subjective as “adversity” can actually be boiled down to a number for each person is already dubious.

Worse, it can be so obviously gamed by both students and school.

Clever students and parents may simply find ways to artificially boost “adversity” in any way they can, just as colleges can use this tool to continue what they have rightfully come under scrutiny for...

Facebook Targets Michelle Malkin: Gives Pass to Antifa

Michelle censored for protesting censorship.

And there they go again.

Facebook has censored Michelle Malkin — for protesting censorship. Meanwhile, as noted in this space just last week, Facebook has no problem with the pro-fascist and deliberately misnamed “Antifa” — the pro-fascist group that pretends its use of hooded faces and clubs is somehow “anti-fascist.” Here is the link to AntifaUSA and their masked faces as they appear on Facebook. Take a good look at Antifa’s favored appearance of black ski masks and recall another leftist group — this one that historians describe as the “terrorist arm of the Democratic Party.”

Ahh, the more things change the more they stay the same — from the Klan to Antifa the far-left specializes in hiding its faces to enable its acts of hatred and violence.

And what specifically was Michelle Malkin censored for? Here, courtesy of Breitbart, is the tweet that got her censored:

These are two of my friends, Laura Loomer and Gavin McInnes. They are banned from Facebook and Instagram for exercising their free speech — while violent jihad groups are allowed on these platforms to spread their murderous poison. I spoke out passionately about de-platforming at CPAC and have done what I can to use my voice to speak for the voiceless. Laura and Gavin are suing the radical forces (SPLC and CAIR) behind the insidious agenda to criminalize political dissent. I have donated to their causes and hope you will too (DefendGavin.comand LauraLoomer.us). I do not know how much longer it will be before I am next. Anyone and everyone who refuses to capitulate to the open-borders, sharia-enforcing social justice agenda is “DANGEROUS.”

Notice this sentence in her post: “I do not know how much longer it will be before I am next.” And like clockwork, it wasn’t long before Michelle was informed by Facebook as follows:

We Removed Something You Posted

It looks like something you posted doesn’t follow our Community Standards.”

Recall this was the same totalitarian mumbo-jumbo that was dished out to Diamond and Silk a while back when the two prominent Trump supporters — Lynnette Hardaway and Rochelle Richardson — were banned by Facebook. As reported here in the Daily Caller at the time, the two were told:

Heigh Ho, Heigh Ho, It's Off To Work He Goes...

We dig, dig, dig, dig, dig, dig, dig in our mine the whole day through
To dig, dig, dig, dig, dig, dig, dig is what we really like to do
It ain't no trick to get rich quick
If you dig dig dig with a shovel or a pick
In a mine! In a mine! In a mine! In a mine!
Where a million diamonds shine!
We dig, dig, dig, dig, dig, dig, dig from early morn till night
We dig, dig, dig, dig, dig, dig, dig up everything in sight
We dig up diamonds by the score
A thousand rubies, sometimes more
But we don't know what we dig 'em for
We dig dig dig a-dig dig
Heigh-ho, heigh-ho
Heigh-ho, heigh-ho, heigh-ho
Heigh-ho, heigh-ho, it's home from work we go
Heigh-ho, heigh-ho, heigh-ho
Heigh-ho, heigh-ho, it's home from work we go
Heigh-ho, heigh-ho
Heigh-ho, heigh-ho
Heigh-ho, heigh-ho
Heigh-ho, heigh-ho
Heigh-ho hum
Heigh-ho, heigh-ho, it's home from work we go
Heigh-ho, heigh-ho, heigh-ho
Heigh-ho, heigh-ho, it's home from work we go
Heigh-ho, heigh-ho, heigh-ho
Heigh-ho, heigh-ho, it's home from work we go

Both Comey And Brennan Voted Communist While Cold War Was Raging

The heads of Obama's FBI and CIA both voted for Communists during the Cold War, yet were somehow able to move up the ranks within the same US intelligence community that had spent decades fighting that very ideology.
Journalist Paul Sperry noted on Wednesday that former FBI Director James Comey admitted in a 2003 interview to having voted Communist before casting his ballot for Jimmy Carter in 1980.

"In college, I was left of center," Comey told New York Magazine, and through a gradual process I found myself more comfortable with a lot of the ideas and approaches the Republicans were using.” He voted for Carter in 1980, but in ’84, “I voted for Reagan—I’d moved from Communist to whatever I am now. I’m not even sure how to characterize myself politically. Maybe at some point, I’ll have to figure it out.”
Of note, Comey's wife and four daughters were all giant Hillary Clinton supporters who wanted her to win "really badly."

Former CIA Director John Brennan, meanwhile, admitted in 2016 to voting Communist in the 1970s. When asked at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation's annual conference whether past activism would create a barrier for diverse candidates who want to enter the intelligence community, Brennan said that he was forced to admit to voting for Communist Gus Hall for president in 1976, according to...

SECRET EMPIRES: Joe Biden’s Son’s Firm Struck Billion-Dollar Deal with the Chinese Government 10 Days After Biden Trip to China

Men Already Enter the Women’s Locker Room at My Local Pool. Now Congress Could Make It Worse.

It came to my attention last spring that a man who identifies as a woman was using the women’s facilities for my local indoor swimming pool.

As a woman and a mom, I naturally was concerned that my children or I could be in the presence of a man while using the women’s locker room at the Claude Moore Recreation and Community Center in Sterling, Virginia.

So I reached out to the pool director and division manager of this Loudoun County government building to ask what their policies were regarding locker room access.

That was just the beginning.

After months of asking various authorities, I have been unable to find a single straight answer about our neighborhood pool’s policy.

Then a few days ago, an official police report surfaced: A naked man walking around the women’s locker room was seen peeping at a girl inside one of the shower stalls. When recreation center staff approached the man, he fled, and investigators are still looking for him.

I have no idea how this person identifies. I have no idea why no one asked questions when this man entered the women’s facilities in the first place. Most importantly, I have no idea what would have happened if this criminal had claimed to be a woman when confronted by staff.

While I write about this, Congress is about to vote on the Equality Act, which would make this policy the law of the land across all 50 states.

As we move into the summer months, I already do not feel safe taking my children to my Loudoun County pool—not just because the peeping Tom is still at large, but because of what I discovered about our local community center.

If I cannot be confident that my children and I will be safe in a female-only space, where else are we supposed to go?

When I approached the director and division manager at the pool, I was told that as of 2010, the facility granted access to private facilities on the basis of self-identified gender.

I was told that if a woman complains about a man in the locker room, and the man identifies as a transgender woman, then staff would have a conversation with that person. It was unclear what would happen after that.

When I expressed my dismay about this ambiguous policy, the director asked me point-blank: “How much privacy do you need?”

I could only blink at him. I was speechless.

As I paused, he told me there are “partitioned areas” and each shower is curtained off individually.

That made my blood boil. So I told him:

“Have you ever been in a woman’s locker room? No? Well, let me tell you...
