Ivanka Trump Lobbies Congress to Reject the 2nd Amendment, Push Gun Control

Trump’s liberal daughter is having a heinous effect on public policy.

Ivanka Trump has influenced her father to support gun control measures like red flag laws, and now she is working to convince Congress to do the same.

According to an Axios report, Ivanka has reached out to Sens. Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Pat Toomey (R-PA) recently to discuss gun control measures. She remains active in the nationwide push to restrict the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution.

“She called Manchin and said she was trying to get a sense of what bills are out there,” a Manchin aide said to Axios. “She had him explain how they drafted the bill, where it stands and what changes needed to be made in order for it to pass.”

A White House official has confirmed that Princess Ivanka “has trusted relationships on both sides of the aisle and she is working in concert with the White House policy and legislative teams.”

Following the mass shootings in El Paso, TX and Dayton, OH earlier this month, Princess Ivanka posted an image on Instagram expressing her sympathy for gun control.

“Congress should enact Red Flag laws / Extreme Risk Protection Orders in every state, increase resources dedicated to mental health support nationwide and close background check loopholes,” she wrote.

She also took to Twitter to proselytize on behalf of gun control, using the tragedies to push for liberal public policy goals:

The NFL and Roc Nation, the entertainment company founded by Jay-Z, have launched a partnership in which Jay Z will take a prominent role in a social-justice program the league launched last year at a time when it was still roiled by controversy over player protests during the national anthem started by Colin Kaepernick.

The parties said Roc Nation will also expand and play an integral role in the NFL’s entertainment operations—not just the halftime show, but also the production and distribution of other new football-related content together on streaming services. That could include original music, in addition to podcasts for players to voice their opinions on social and cultural issues that are important to them. ICE Director Blames ‘Political Rhetoric’ For Attack On San Antonio Office

After an Immigrations and Customs Enforcement office was hit with gunfire in San Antonio, the Director of the office issued a statement blaming ‘various politicians, media outlets and activist groups’.

The windows of the ICE office near Loop 410 and Nacogdoches Road were shattered by shots police believe were fired from across the freeway before 3am on Tuesday.

“Police said they took a man into custody who was found along Village Drive, not far from where the shooting occurred,” the San Antonio Express-News reported. “No injuries were reported from the shooting.”

“It is unclear whether the ICE office was targeted or if it was a random attack.” the report notes.

“Had the bullets gone two inches in another direction, we could be here today talking about the murder of a federal official,” FBI special agent Christopher Combs said.

What should we do with illegal aliens who break local criminal laws?

Most people would agree that, once they’ve served their time, they should be removed from the country rather than sent back into the community where they can commit more crimes.

But the Legal Aid Justice Center of Falls Church, Virginia, disagrees. So when Culpeper County Sheriff Scott Jenkins turned Francisco Guardado Rios over to the Department of Homeland Security, the center filed a class-action lawsuit against the sheriff, claiming his actions violated the Fourth and 14th Amendments to the Constitution.

Thankfully, a federal judge has now thrown out that suit. Here’s how it went down.

In August 2017, Rios was arrested for driving without a license and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The Culpeper County Jail then received a detainer from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and an administrative arrest warrant for Rios from the Department of Homeland Security, as there was “probable cause to believe Rios was a removable alien.”

The detainer asked the jail to notify ICE at least 48 hours before Rios’ release, and requested that the jail also maintain custody of the alien “for a period NOT TO EXCEED 48 HOURS beyond the time when he/she would otherwise have been released from custody to allow [the Department of Homeland Security] to assume custody.”

Further, the administrative warrant directed immigration officers to arrest Rios and take him into custody “for removal proceedings under the Immigration and Nationality Act.”

Rios was convicted of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. After serving his sentence in the Culpeper County Jail, he was held for an additional two days by Jenkins before being turned over to ICE agents.

Rios claimed that being held in custody after completing his sentence violated his constitutional rights. He alleged that Jenkins had held nearly 100 other illegal aliens past their release dates in 2017 and 2018, based on ICE detainers.

Senior District Judge Glen E. Conrad ruled, however, that Jenkins acted lawfully in cooperating with Homeland Security.

A key factor was the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals’ 2013 ruling in Santos v. Frederick County Board of Commissioners. The court held that state and local authorities can’t arrest or detain an illegal alien based solely on an immigration charge “absent federal direction or authorization.”
