Harvard Professor Says 40-70 Per Cent of People Worldwide Will Be Infected With Coronavirus

Says asymptomatic nature of virus means it “will ultimately not be containable.”

Harvard epidemiology professor Marc Lipsitch says that the coronavirus will not be containable and that 40-70 of people worldwide will be infected.

In an article entitled You’re Likely to Get the Coronavirus, the Atlantic explains how the coronavirus is particularly dangerous because it may cause cause no symptoms at all in many carriers of the infection.

According to Harvard epidemiology professor Marc Lipsitch, this contributes to his prediction that coronavirus “will ultimately not be containable.”

“Lipsitch predicts that, within the coming year, some 40 to 70 percent of people around the world will be infected with the virus that causes COVID-19,” reports the Atlantic.

The professor clarifies that this doesn’t mean all of those victims will become seriously ill and that “many will have mild disease, or may be asymptomatic.”

However, given the increasingly stringent measures being taken outside of China to stop the spread of the virus, including in Italy where people are being prevented from leaving towns, one wonders how severe the panic will be if there is a massive global pandemic.

As we highlighted earlier, with 165 cases reported in Italy, store shelves in some areas of the country are already beginning to empty.

Oops: Intelligence Official 'Misled' Lawmakers About Russia Helping Trump Win Re-election

The top election security official for the intelligence community, Shelby Pierson, reportedly misled members of the House Intelligence Committee during a briefing on Russia's efforts to interfere in the 2020 election, with the goal of helping President Donald Trump, according to three national security officials familiar with the matter as well as National Security Adviser Robert O'Brien.

Pierson reportedly told lawmakers that Russia was interfering in the 2020 election with the aim of helping President Trump win re-election, despite no evidence suggesting that was Russia's intention. Concerns over the lack of evidence backing Pierson's claim were raised in response to a New York Times' report about the intelligence briefing, making vague assertions that Russia's efforts were intended to help the president's bid for re-election. Members of the intelligence community are now saying there is no evidence to back up Pierson's claim.

Pierson's characterization of Russian interference led to pointed questions from lawmakers, which officials said caused Pierson to overstep and assert that Russia has a preference for Trump to be reelected.

One intelligence official said that Pierson's characterization of the intelligence was "misleading" and a national security official said Pierson failed to provide the "nuance" needed to accurately convey the US intelligence conclusions.

The Office of the Director of National Intelligence, where Pierson is a senior official, did not respond to CNN's request for comment.

Trump has been periodically briefed on Russian interference in the 2020 election, but was upset when he learned of Pierson's characterization of the intelligence in part because intelligence officials had not characterized the interference as explicitly pro-Trump. One national security official said Russia's only clear aim, as of now, is to sow discord in the United States.

Coronavirus: Store Shelves Empty as Panic Buying Hits Italy

Infected victims jump from 3 to 165 in just a few days.

People in several regions of Italy have reacted to coronavirus spreading throughout the country by panic buying, leaving some store shelves empty.

With 165 people infected, Italy has the most coronavirus victims out of any country in Europe. Five people have died.

Footage out of Milan shot yesterday shows some products almost or entirely out of stock.

Some residents flippantly likened the situation to a “zombie apocalypse.”

Lock downs are in place in the regions of Lombardy and Veneto, with 50,000 people being unable to leave without special permission.

Numerous museums, cinemas, bars, businesses and schools have also shut down and sporting activities have been suspended.

The Venice Carnival was also cancelled, while designer Giorgio Armani streamed his Milan Fashion Week event from an empty theater.

Clarence Thomas wife among conservative activists leading Trump efforts to compile ‘deep state’ hit list

The wife of conservative Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas is spearheading an effort to remove officials suspected of undermining President Trump.

A network of conservative activists led by Ginni Thomas is helping compile detailed memos of disloyal government officials they want fired, according to more than a dozen sources who spoke with Axios.

Trump’s distrust of people inside the White House and the federal government has intensified since his impeachment and acquittal, and he thinks his government is filled with “snakes” he wants fired and replaced.

The memos sent to Trump included former District of Columbia U.S. Attorney Jessie Liu, whose nomination for a top Treasury role was withdrawn. A source with knowledge of the document said Liu’s alleged misdeeds included signing the sentencing filing asking for jail time for Trump’s former national security adviser Michael Flynn, not charging former deputy director of the FBI Andrew McCabe, and not acting on criminal referrals of some of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh's accusers.

The memos, compiled over the last 18 months, also included suggestions of pro-Trump people to replace the current officials. A Mardi Gras float has indicated that Jeffrey Epstein didn’t kill himself, and even depicted his possible killer: Hillary Clinton.

The float featured Hillary Clinton in her trademark pastel pantsuit, with her hands around the neck of convicted pedophile and Clinton family friend Jeffrey Epstein.

The American Mirror reports: The float shows “Epstein” in an orange jumpsuit with a blond-haired woman resembling Clinton standing behind him holding something around his neck in the New Orleans parade.
