Cruz: WaPo's Defense of China on Coronavirus Is 'Abandoning All Pretenses of Journalism'

On Friday, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) condemned a Washington Post fact-check video as “CCP propaganda,” covering for the Chinese Communist Party by taking its claims at face value. The video claimed that the best evidence suggests the coronavirus responsible for the COVID-19 pandemic came from nature, even though the facts in the video itself arguably presented a compelling case that the virus could have leaked from one of the two virus labs in Wuhan.

Glenn Kessler, editor of the Post‘s fact-checker, shared the video on Twitter, calling it “amazing.”

Cruz said, “‘Amazing is definitely right word for this video. WaPo ‘abandoning all pretenses of journalism to produce CCP propaganda’ would be another way to put it.”

“If this reporter submitted this video in a freshman logic class, it wouldn’t receive a passing grade,” Cruz argued. “Let’s review facts.”

The senator laid out four facts in a tweet thread, each drawn from the video.

FACT 1: WaPo admits two separate labs in Wuhan were studying coronaviruses derived from bats. One lab was just 300 yards from Wuhan wet market.

FACT 2: WaPo admits bats with similar coronaviruses “live in caves 1000 miles away.”

FACT 3: WaPo admits both labs had SERIOUS safety concerns, resulting in multiple US Dept wires—before this crisis—warning that shoddy safety protocols could lead to a global coronavirus pandemic.

FACT 4: WaPo admits China DESTROYED the lab samples after the pandemic started (raising the natural inference that they were afraid what the samples, if examined, would show.

“ALL OF THESE FACTS strongly suggest the virus escaped from one of these CCP labs. At this point, the evidence is circumstantial (because the CCP is hiding/blocking any direct evidence),” Cruz added. Terror-Tied CAIR Attacks General for Speaking About the Muslim Child Sex Trafficking Gangs

The terror-tied group is banking on public ignorance and the complicity of an unfailing left-wing media to cover, censor and scrub for Islam.

The child sex trafficking gangs are Muslim. That is a fact. Reporting it – well, that’s a whole other story.

Robert McCaw and the others at Hamas-linked CAIR are banking on the ignorance of the public. The phenomenon of Muslim rape gangs in Britain is well known to those who dare to face the facts.

The Guardian reported in October 2014 that “sexual exploitation of vulnerable children has become the social norm in some parts of Greater Manchester.” The perpetrators were overwhelmingly Muslim men, as in Rochdale, where a group of Muslims were involved in a large-scale sex trafficking ring involving young non-Muslim girls.

In the British town of Rotherham, Muslim gangs brutalized, sexually assaulted, and raped over 1,400 young British girls, while authorities remained extremely reluctant to say or do anything in response, for fear of being labeled “racist.” Rotherham officials “described their nervousness about identifying the ethnic origins of perpetrators for fear of being thought as racist; others remembered clear direction from their managers not to do so.”

And what were the ethnic origins of those perpetrators? The Guardian report didn’t mention it (which in itself was telling), but 75%, and probably more (since it was so politically unacceptable to report such things) of these rape and sexual exploitation gangs were “Asian,” which is British Newspeak for “Muslim.”

According to official figures released in December 2019, over 18,700 children had fallen prey to grooming and rape gangs in Britain during the previous year. This was up from some 15,000 victims in 2014.

Former Home Secretary Sajid Javid noted that the perpetrators included a “high proportion of men of Pakistani heritage.” That’s why the British authorities were so slow to act. The mother of one rape gang victim noted that South Yorkshire Police “would not listen and left you in dangerous situations, letting people do what they wanted and they never questioned anybody about what was happening.” One South Yorkshire Police official even told this victim’s father that the perpetrators could not be prosecuted because of who they were: “With it being Asians, we can’t afford for this to be coming out.” The official also observed that the rape gangs had been operating freely in Britain for thirty years.

WHO Flip-Flops, Now Endorses Sweden’s No Lockdown Policy

After praising China for enforcing its own draconian lockdown.

The World Health Organization has flip-flopped on coronavirus once again after it appeared to endorse Sweden’s policy of not implementing a full lockdown.

Sweden chose not to enforce a full lockdown, keeping many parts of its economy open, keeping children in school and advising voluntary social distancing measures as well as encouraging vulnerable people to stay indoors.

Despite receiving a barrage of criticism, the policy appears to have worked. Sweden has a lower per capita death toll than the UK, which enforced a full lockdown, is well on the way to developing “herd immunity” and achieved all this without wrecking its economy.

Having initially advocated against quarantines before praising China for imposing its draconian crackdown, the WHO has apparently changed its tune once again.

Dr. Mike Ryan, Executive Director of the World Health Organization’s Health Emergencies Programme, pointed out that Sweden’s healthcare system has not been overwhelmed and that their government was right to trust their people to self-regulate.

Ryan now says that Sweden’s approach should be a “model” for other countries as they begin to ease lockdowns.

“There are lessons to be learnt by our colleagues in Sweden,” said Ryan.

Intelligence officials from the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Australia and New Zealand all contributed to the dossier, which addressed a number of topics with regard to the origins and spread of SARS-COV2, now known as COVID-19.
