HOAX: Democratic Mayoral Candidate Arrested for Hoaxing Her Own Kidnapping, Beating in Publicity Stunt
She gave Smollett a run for his money.
A South Carolina woman has been arrested and charged with staging her own kidnapping and beating with the hopes of attracting support for her campaign for mayor of Sumter, South Carolina. Sabrina Belcher is running for mayor of the city as a Democrat.
Belcher broadcast her own faux kidnapping in a Facebook live stream, in a performance that can only be described as comical.
Belcher has been charged with conspiracy and filing a false police report. One of Belcher’s associates, Christopher Eaddy, has also been charged with assisting her in staging the hoax.
Police are alleging that the entire plot was concocted from the beginning as a campaign stunt to gain sympathy and boost Belcher’s electoral prospects.
“This was simply an effort to create disorder and discontent in our community for personal gain,” said Chief Russell Roark in a press release. “As a result, a valuable number of resources, including personnel, man hours of the police department as well as local medical professionals, were wasted based on false information.”
It’s unclear if this event fits the definition of a straightforward hate hoax akin to the hoax perpetrated by Jussie Smollett, as false accusations of racism didn’t seem to be a part of the fake kidnapping plot. “Joe Biden doesn’t do nothing here,” the man says as he leans out of a car window, adding that he lives on “East 28th street right across from the projects.”
“Four years. Donald Trump’s been in office for four years cleaning up their mess for over hundreds of years. It’s not his fault,” the man says. “This is their politicians. This is the change. Donald Trump is the change for us, for the people.”
According to recent surveys, black voters are increasingly turned away from the Democrat Party and towards President Trump.
In November, a pair of surveys had the president’s support among blacks at an astounding 34 percent, leading CNN’s ‘Republican’ contributor Ana Navarro incredulous.
“Zero chance this is accurate. Zero. The poll must have only been conducted in the homes of Ben Carson, Kanye, that sheriff guy with the hat and those two Cubic Zirconia & Polyester-Spandex ladies,” she claimed.

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.’s stock prices plummeted more than 4 percent Wednesday after President Donald Trump called for a boycott of the company for a reported “zero tolerance” policy on “Make America Great Again” hats and “Blue Lives Matter” messages.
A photo posted to Twitter showed a slide allegedly part of Goodyear’s diversity training that listed appropriate slogans and organizations that may be showcased on employee attire. In the “acceptable” column is “Black Lives Matter” and “Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Pride” while statements such as “Blue Lives Matter,” “All Lives Matter,” “MAGA Attire,” and “Political Affiliated Slogans or Material,” are deemed “unacceptable.”
While the company’s stock market performance suffered immediately after President Trump’s call to action, Goodyear has significantly underperformed in the last two years with stock prices falling over 60 percent despite a 43 percent increase in the NASDAQ overall.
According to the company, the declines showcased in the most recent quarterly report were “driven by lower industry volume and reduced sales from other tire-related businesses,” but some point out that the company’s financial downfall began long before COVID-19, causing some speculation about the company’s leadership and executives.
While Goodyear CEO Richard Kramer has donated to Republican candidates and lawmakers in the past, his most recent campaign donations were to two Ohio Democrats: Rep. Tim Ryan and Sen. Sherrod Brown. Kramer gave $1,000 to Ryan in 2018 and $2,500 to Brown in 2017. Federal campaign donation records compiled by the Center for Responsive Politics show that Kramer hasn’t donated to a Republican candidate for federal office in over a decade.

Woman charged after video shows theft of boy's MAGA hat, sign ripped in Wilmington
Olivia M. Winslow was handcuffed Friday, August 21, 2020, after Wilmington Police were called to the 600 block of Justison Street the evening before for reports of an offensive touching incident involving a 7-year-old boy.
Video circulated on social media, by Students for Trump, shows two girls, one police said was Winslow, tearing up Trump signs and stealing the young boy's "Make America Great Again" hat. The video shows the boy crying, and his mother encouraging him to get his hat back.
