Ninety miles from the South Eastern tip of the United States, Liberty has no stead. In order for Liberty to exist and thrive, Tyranny must be identified, recognized, confronted and extinguished.
Greyhound’s President and CEO David Leach wrote to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. He told the secretary that when the Department of Homeland Security goes to put an illegal migrant on a Greyhound bus, he expects the agency to have proof of a COVID-19 negative test result. The letter was a request for assistance from DHS as the bus line deals with the surge of illegal migrants at the U.S – Mexico border.
This is not an unreasonable demand. When illegal migrants are detained by border patrol agents, they become the responsibility of DHS. There is a surge of activity at the border now, thanks to Joe Biden’s executive actions since taking office. Mexicans and Central Americans take him at his word that he will open America’s borders and those entering illegally will receive no more than a slap on the wrist, if that. Migrants are released into border towns, dropped off at bus stops, and sent on their merry way further into the country. Resources at the border are not without limits. There are simply not enough non-profits or volunteer organizations to accommodate the flood of illegal migrants.
As Leach wrote in his letter, “Our top priority is the safety of our employees and passengers.” Why should airlines, for example, have a different standard for international travelers than a bus line? Airline passengers have to present verification of a negative test result before boarding a plane for...
Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced the deployment of the state’s National Guard and State Troopers to respond to the growing border crisis.
Governor Abbott announced Operation Lone Star “to combat the smuggling of people and drugs into Texas” on Saturday. The operation will integrate the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) with the National Guard, Abbott said. He is ordering the deployment of air, ground, marine, and tactical border security assets to high threat areas.
“The crisis at our southern border continues to escalate because of Biden Administration policies that refuse to secure the border and invite illegal immigration,” the governor said in a written statement Saturday evening. “Texas supports legal immigration but will not be an accomplice to the open border policies that cause, rather than prevent, a humanitarian crisis in our state and endanger the lives of Texans. We will surge the resources and law enforcement personnel needed to confront this crisis.”
Abbott issued the deployment order following a meeting with Texas DPS Director Colonel Steve McCraw. The two discussed strategies to increase safety and security along the border.
The announcement follows a massive increase in illegal border crossings since President Joe Biden took office in January.
Earlier this week, Democrat Congressman Henry Cuellar (D-TX) announced that Border Patrol agents apprehended approximately 10,000 migrants in the Rio Grande Valley Sector during a seven-day period ending on Wednesday, Breitbart Texas reported.
“We are weeks, maybe even days, away from a crisis on the southern border. Inaction is simply not an option,” Congressman Cuellar said in a written statement. “Our country is currently unprepared to handle a surge in migrants in the middle of the pandemic.”
In Brownsville, Texas, city officials said that six percent of the migrants being released at the bus station to obtain transportation into the U.S. interior are testing positive for...
The Centers for Disease Control is relaxing COVID-19 restrictions on facilities that house unaccompanied child migrants crossing into the United States through the roughly 2,000 mile border with Mexico. Why? Because the Biden administration is being overwhelmed by the tidal wave of illegal alien migration since over turning former President Trump’s strict border policies. The move to fill the facilities to 100% capacity is an effort to house the droves of children arriving to the U.S.
A memo obtained by Axios found the agency warning “facilities should plan for and expect to have COVID-19 cases.”
The CDC is sidelining health restrictions as a crisis at the southern border intensifies.
Some migrant children told Sara Carter stories of jumping onto trains to get to the border and horror stories of other children falling of trains or disappearing along the four month journey from Honduras.Sara Carter
Sara Carter spoke live from the border Friday night on Hannity, reporting that children are flooding into the country daily and that border agents are “overwhelmed.”
“There are roughly 700 to 1,000 undocumented migrants, some of them unaccompanied minors, pouring into Texas daily, ” Carter said live from McAllen, Tex. “There is a crisis on the southern border as well, with the drug cartels battling it out, as well as human traffickers.”
Carter confirmed children are entering the country alone, some as young as four-years-old.
Some migrant children told Carter stories of jumping onto trains to get to the border and horror stories of other children falling of trains or disappearing along the four month journey from Honduras.
Carter found that migrants misunderstood Biden’s stop on deportations for 100 days “as an invitation to arrive to the United States.”
Children appeared in Texas without parents, or with adults who were strangers and potentially paid by parents who are back in Honduras.
“The crisis couldn’t be any worse,” Carter said. “More and more undocumented children are coming across the border. There’s a big concern here as well with the spread of COVID and that the majority of people coming through here are not being tested.”:
Former President Donald Trump on Friday went after President Joe Biden, accusing his successor of prompting a “spiraling tsunami” of crossings at the U.S.-Mexico border.
In an emailed statement, the 45th president blamed the current 46th for the surge in border crossing, which has spurred the opening of a pair of two overflow facilities for unaccompanied migrant children.
“Our border is now totally out of control thanks to the disastrous leadership of Joe Biden,” Trump wrote in a lengthy statement. “Our great Border Patrol and ICE agents have been disrespected, demeaned, and mocked by the Biden Administration.”
“A mass incursion into the country by people who should not be here is happening on an hourly basis, getting worse by the minute. Many have criminal records, and many others have and are spreading covid. Interior enforcement has been shut down — criminals that were once promptly removed by our Administration are now being released back onto the street to commit heinous and violent crimes,” Trump said.
Here, the former president is referencing the recently reported release of migrants who had tested positive for COVID-19 in South Texas.
“The spiraling tsunami at the border is overwhelming local communities, depleting budgets, crowding hospitals, and taking jobs from legal American workers. When I left office, we had achieved the most secure border in our country’s history,” Trump continued. “Under Biden, it will soon be worse, more dangerous, and more out of control than ever before. He has violated his oath of office to uphold our Constitution and enforce our laws.”
On Firday, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki fired back at Trump’s statements.
“We don’t take our advice or counsel from former President Trump on immigration policy, which was not only inhumane but ineffective over the last four years,” she said. “We’re going to tread our own path forward and that includes treating children with humanity and respect and ensuring they’re safe when they cross our borders.”
Biden notably stopped construction of his predecessor’s signature border wall along the southern border. In February also, the president started to phase out the “Remain in Mexico” policy, under which around 71,000 Central American asylum applicants were awaiting rulings in Mexico. In some circumstances, asylum seekers who are permitted to wait on rulings inside the United States can receive work permits while they...
