Utah woman, 39, dies 4 days after 2nd dose of COVID-19 vaccine; autopsy ordered

SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — During a KUTV investigation into COVID-19 vaccine side effects and where to report them, we found four reported deaths, filed by Utah families and their caregivers to the CDC’s Vaccine Adverse Reporting System.

One case stood out, a 39-year-old single mom from Ogden who died four days after her second dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. Her family, who is now waiting on an autopsy, held a celebration of life for her this past weekend.

Kassidi Kurill by all accounts was healthy, happy and “had more energy” than just about anyone else around her. Her family told 2News she had no known health problems or pre-existing conditions.

I didn't really cry when my dad died, I cry a lot for her.

Alfred Hawley, a retired Hill Air Force Base fighter pilot, is a military man who has known risk and loss his entire life. He’s taken it all in stride, until now.

An hour before his daughter’s celebration of life this past Saturday, he sat down to talk about his baby girl, the one who always wore makeup to cover up the freckles he loved so much.

With tears in his eyes, Alfred said “I'm at a state in my life where I'm ok with that (emotion)” as he wiped a tear from his cheek; not the first and not the last.

“She was the one who promised to take care of me” he said.

The death of his youngest daughter came out of nowhere in a year where this family has already suffered unimaginable grief with three funerals before Kassidi in the past 370 days.

Four days after Kassidi's second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, she was gone. Dead before most of her family could say their goodbyes.

“She came in early and said her heart was racing and she felt like she need to get to the emergency room.” Alfred woke up that Thursday morning to his daughter asking for help.

Kassidi and her 9-year-old daughter Emilia lived with her parents. They’d been one family under the same roof since Emilia was born. Mom and Dad, grandma and grandpa always close by when they were needed.

A livid President Trump issued a statement Tuesday lamenting that the country is “being destroyed” by the Biden administration’s actions at the border, as the crisis further spirals out of control.

Border crossings have surged after Biden promised mass amnesty, began allowing unaccompanied migrant children into the US again, and reversed Trump’s ‘remain in Mexico’ policy.

Video is emerging every day of hundreds of migrants walking into the US, while cities in Arizona and Texas warn that they are becoming overwhelmed, and warning of the complete lack of effort to test for or prevent the spread of COVID:

Border patrol is reported to have arrested around 100,000 migrants attempting to illegally cross the border in February alone.

Trump’s statement read “When I was President, our Southern border was in great shape – stronger, safer, and more secure than ever before.”

“We ended Catch-and-Release, shut down asylum fraud, and crippled the vicious smugglers, drug dealers, and human traffickers,” Trump continued, adding “The Wall, despite horrendous Democratic delays, would have easily been finished by now.”

Commenting on the current situation, Trump proclaimed “Our country is being destroyed at the Southern border, a terrible thing to see!”

There are now a record number of migrant children being kept in Border Patrol ‘cages’, which the migrants themselves are calling “dog kennels” and “ice boxes” according to reports.

CBS News reports that there are more than 3,200 unaccompanied minors in the facilities, with almost half being held beyond the legal three-day limit.

Less than a month ago there were just NINE children being held, according to CBP documents cited in the CBS report.

There are a further 8,100 migrant children being held at the Office of Refugee Resettlement.

This is an unprecedented crisis caused directly by the undoing of Trump’s border policies and the Biden administration refuses to address it. Biden himself has not faced questions from the media for almost 50 days at this time.

In fact, they are putting out “leaks” that reveal their intentions to continue an open border policy, with the intention to integrate 117,000 migrant youths and children this year alone.

Meanwhile, Arizona and Montana are taking legal action to block the new immigration regulations, which also limit the ability of ICE to detain illegals.

Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich said in a statement “If asked about the poorest policy choice I’ve ever seen in government, this would be a strong contender.”

“Blindly releasing thousands of people, including convicted criminals and those who may be spreading COVID-19 into our state, is both unconscionable and a violation of federal law,” Brnovich added, urging “This must be stopped now to avoid a dangerous humanitarian crisis for the immigrants and the people of Arizona.”

Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen has also warned that “Meth trafficked into Montana by Mexican drug cartels has wracked our state. The problem will only be made worse if the Biden administration continues to allow criminals to stay in...

Joe Biden Prioritizes Migrant Youth ‘Educational Services’ as Many U.S. Children Are Shut Out of Classrooms

Sleepy Joe Biden’s administration is focused on “educational services” for migrant youth arriving at the United States-Mexico border even as millions of American children remain shut out of the classroom due to lockdowns.

In a press briefing on Tuesday, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said the administration is working to “ensure” that Unaccompanied Alien Children (UACs) arriving at the southern border are provided “educational services” and “health services.”

“These unaccompanied children who come across the border … we want to keep safe; we want to ensure they are in shelters where there is access to educational services, legal services, health services,” Psaki said. “We want to ensure that they are then quickly moved to vetted families and sponsor homes.”

“We are not trying to close our borders,” Psaki said.

As of last week, Breitbart News reported, more than 3,300 UACs were in Department of Homeland Security (DHS) custody before they were eventually transferred to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) where they received a variety of taxpayer-funded services.

Simultaneously, potentially millions of American children remain shut out of the classroom and in-person learning as teacher’s unions fight to keep schools closed in the midst of the Chinese coronavirus crisis.

In Los Angeles County, California, for instance, children in K-12th grade are set to have been locked out of in-person learning for a year, the New York Times reports:

It has been almost a year since the coronavirus pandemic virtually emptied public schools in Los Angeles and sent Shamael Al-Alim home to take classes from her bedroom.

She does not miss rising at 6 a.m. to catch a bus and a train to her high school. But there is so much that, at 17, she does miss: The prospect of an in-person prom and graduation. The history teacher who ran the social justice club. Pickup basketball in the gym after school — and the coach “who made everybody feel safe there.” A real senior year.

The latest data compiled by Education Week, which breaks down state-by-state school closures, shows there are still only six states — Florida, Iowa, Texas, Arkansas, West Virginia, and New Hampshire — that require in-person learning. All the states, except New Hampshire, require most schools to be open five days a week.

Meanwhile, California, Hawaii, Delaware, and Washington, DC, continue to have state orders in place that have kept schools partially closed for in-person learning. In various other states, in which there are no state orders, localities can decide whether or not to keep their schools closed.

A report in October 2020 revealed that up to three million American children went without any education for most of last year.

The statements from the Biden administration are the latest which draw comparisons between restrictions, testing, and quarantine rules for American citizens versus foreign nationals — specifically border crossers.
