Report: Facebook Workers Are Concerned About Running Chinese Propaganda Ads
Facebook staffers are reportedly expressing their concerns on internal message boards over Chinese government ads on the social media platform, which promote a message that China’s Muslim minorities in the nation’s Xinjiang region are happy and thriving.
Facebook staffers have internally expressed their concerns about the company being used as a conduit for Chinese Communist Party propaganda, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal.
While Facebook is blocked in China, Beijing uses the platform to spread its political views to hundreds of millions of people in other nations through advertisements.
Sources who spoke to the Wall Street Journal said Facebook hasn’t decided whether to act in response to staff’s concerns, and is watching to see how international organizations — like the United Nations — react to the situation in Xinjiang.
A Facebook spokesman said Beijing’s ads regarding Xinjiang don’t violate the social media giant’s policies, as long as advertisers follow the company’s rules when buying them. The spokesman added that Facebook is monitoring reports of the situation in Xinjiang “to help inform our approach and due diligence on this issue.”
The advertisements and posts in question involve videos of people in Xinjiang — including some children — saying to the camera that their lives are improving and that Western nations are plotting to try to destabilize China.
The report added that a Facebook employee had posted in the company’s internal chat for Muslim staff, pointing out that the U.S. government had declared Beijing’s treatment of Uyghurs a genocide.
“It’s time our platform takes action to fight misinformation on the Uighur genocide,” the Facebook employee wrote in the post, obtained by the Wall Street Journal.

Joe Biden's Only Real Contribution to Vaccine Distribution Has Failed, and It Kills a Lot of Narratives
Remember when we were told that Donald Trump was an incompetent, uncaring boob because he dared to leave vaccine distribution to state and local authorities and entities like pharmacies? Joe Biden criticized the former president on that front, promising to open 100 federal vaccination sites. That was really going to be his only major “change” to Trump’s strategy. All the other infrastructure that has brought us to where we are, and the pace of escalation of vaccinations, predated Biden.
Anyway, you better sit down for this because I’m going to absolutely shock you. As it turns out, the federal government is still incompetent, and Biden’s only real contribution to vaccine distribution has failed. The program is now being reconsidered.
Who could have possibly foreseen this? Well, except Donald Trump and every other critically thinking person on the planet. State, local, and private entities already had the infrastructure setup, whether it was an already existent state health center or a pharmacy with the current staff to give vaccines. Republicans knew that which is why they prioritized the development and initial procurement of the vaccine. They didn’t then try to set a bunch of rules and jam down a federally controlled distribution process. That has led to the United States being one of the best countries (and certainly of our size) in the world at getting the vaccine into the population.
In other words, Trump’s plan succeeded, and all the hysterical narratives about him “not doing anything” by leaving it to the states was nonsense. Further, Biden’s promise to get 100 federal sites up and going never even materialized. The last count I heard, there were under a dozen open. A few weeks ago, pictures of a vaccine site in Florida went viral showing really long, chaotic lines. It turned out that the site was run by FEMA, and by extension, Joe Biden.

Russia’s Lavrov Warns of Surging Anti-White Racism in U.S.
Asserts that forces within U.S. are trying to impose a “cultural revolution.”
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov says there is surging “aggression against white people” in the United States and that it is harming efforts to fight racism.
Lavrov made the comments during an interview with political scientists that was broadcast on national television.
“We were pioneers of the movement promoting equal rights of people of any skin color,” said Lavrov, adding that “everyone wants to get rid of racism.”
However, he emphasized how it was important “not to switch to the other extreme which we saw during the ‘BLM’ (Black Lives Matter) events and the aggression against white people, white U.S. citizens.”
Lavrov also insisted that forces within the U.S. were trying to spread a “cultural revolution” around the world by forcing “diversity” down everyone’s throats.
“Hollywood is now also changing its rules so that everything reflects the diversity of modern society,” he said, labeling it “a form of censorship.”
MLB’s Chinese media partner targeted NBA exec for supporting Hong Kong’s pro-democracy protesters
Major League Baseball renewed a licensing contract earlier this week with a Chinese media company that has targeted an NBA executive over his support human rights and democracy activists in Hong Kong.
The deal, which MLB signed with Tencent on Wednesday, has taken on new significance after the league’s decision Friday to pull its All Star game out of Atlanta over a Georgia state voting law opposed by Democrats.
MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred said the move was being made because the league “fundamentally supports voting rights for all Americans and opposes restrictions to the ballot box.”
Defenders of the Georgia law, which was signed last week, have denied allegations that it will restrict voting access. The New York Times reported Saturday that the law is “unlikely” to affect turnout or hurt Democrats. It may “plausibly even increase turnout,” according to the newspaper.
But MLB has ignored the anti-democratic bent of its media partner, Tencent.
In October 2019, Tencent temporarily stopped airing all NBA games after Daryl Morley, the then-general manager of the Houston Rockets, expressed support for Hong Kong protesters who opposed a law backed by Beijing that they feared would lead to a crackdown on dissidents.
Tencent resumed airing most NBA league games, but has continued boycotting Rockets’ games, and those of Morley’s new team, the Philadelphia 76ers.
The Guardian reported on Dec. 30, 2020, that Tencent refuses to air the two teams’ games.
Tencent’s crackdown on Morley and its apparent opposition to Hong Kong’s activists has not deterred Major League Baseball.
MLB and Tencent announced Wednesday that they were expanding a partnership that allows the Chinese conglomerate to air baseball games in several new Asian markets, according to The Global Times.
Tencent has broadcast MLB games since 2018, when the two sides signed an exclusive licensing deal.
The new deal extends MLB’s contract with Tencent through 2023 and will allow access to the league’s All Star game and playoffs.
Viewers in the Asian markets will no longer see the All Star game in Atlanta, where it was initially to be held.

China is currently building more coal-fired power plants than the entire U.S. fleet. On Joe Biden’s first day in office, he canceled the Keystone Pipeline to assuage environmentalists who helped get him controversially elected. This means nothing for carbon outputs or emissions since the amount of coal being spewed by China plus what’s under construction is equal to or greater than twenty Keystone Pipeline projects. Add Asia, India, Poland, Germany, Japan, and coal-user behemoth—India—into the coal-for-electricity-mix, and canceling western pipelines, decarbonizing, or promising an all-electric transportation future means nothing to lower emissions.

What the entire climate change, global warming, renewables over fossil fuels and electrify society movement is really about is one thing—money—clean energy is now worth trillions of taxpayer dollars. Government-sponsored science and economic growth at its worst picking clean energy over fossil fuels and internal combustion engine vehicles. These are disastrous energy policies.
The existential threat narrative of global warming only solved by destroying global economies by switching to intermittent, expensive renewables over reliable fossil fuels is foolish according to Dr. Steve Koonin, a physicist who served as Undersecretary for Energy during President Barack Obama’s first term.

A new arrest in a five-month-old hate crime against an Asian couple in Washington State makes the fifth time in a week an African-American male has been implicated in possible hate crimes.
Police say a 15-year old African-American teenager is charged with second-degree assault in Tacoma. They have not released his name.

No one sees it at first until he starts hitting things with it. …His friend came towards the end, stuck his head through the door and said ‘That’s what you get. That’s what you get you Chinese motherf******.’”

And on Friday, an African-American man, Noah Green, allegedly ran over two police officers at the U.S. Capitol, killing one of them, who was white.
Green, reported to be linked to the radical Nation of Islam Muslim group, was shot on the scene when he allegedly jumped out of his car and lunged at police with a knife. He later died. Police have not speculated as to whether he may have targeted his victims because they were police or because of race.
