Report: FBI Conducted Domestic Influence Operation Targeting Social and Corporate Media to Discredit Hunter Biden Laptop Story
While the FBI was supposed to be investigating foreign influence operations ahead of the 2020 election, it was engaging in a political influence operation of its own right here at home. Throughout all of 2020, the FBI repeatedly “primed” former Twitter’s Trust and Safety chief Yoel Roth to dismiss accurate reports of Hunter Biden’s scandalous laptop, and to refer to it as a Russian “hack and leak” operation, according to internal Twitter documents.
Although the FBI almost certainly knew the laptop—which had been in its possession since December of 2019—was legitimate, it conducted a multi-faceted influence operation targeting multiple social media platforms and major corporate media outlets to discredit accurate reports on a major scandal that threatened to torpedo Joe Biden’s presidential campaign.
Independent journalist Michael Shellenberger on Monday released the seventh edition of the “Twitter Files” onto the social media platform, revealing how the FBI and the U.S. intelligence community worked to “discredit factual information about Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealings” in the media.
Twitter CEO Elon Musk has given Shellenberger and two other independent reporters broad access to the internal communications between Twitter executives and government officials on the condition that they post the material on Twitter before they publish it anywhere else.
The sixth installment of the Twitter Files revealed how the FBI’s relentless attempts to exercise influence over Twitter’s content, its users, and its data, made even Yoel Roth—the far-left former head of Trust and Safety—uncomfortable.
The evidence uncovered in seventh edition points to “an organized effort by representatives of the intelligence community (IC), aimed at senior executives at news and social media companies, to discredit leaked information about Hunter Biden before and after it was published,” Shellenberger wrote. “The story begins December 2019 when a Delaware computer store owner named John Paul (J.P.) Mac Isaac contacts the FBI about a laptop that Hunter Biden had left with him.”
The FBI issued a subpoena for Hunter Biden’s laptop and took possession of it on Dec 9, 2019. For the next year, the Bureau did nothing meaningful to address multiple alleged illegalities found in the laptop—but it did take action.
“At 9:22 pm ET (6:22 PT), FBI Special Agent Elvis Chan sends 10 documents to Twitter’s then-Head of Site Integrity, Yoel Roth, through Teleporter, a one-way communications channel from the FBI to Twitter,” Shellenberger wrote. They did the same to Facebook, according to CEO Mark Zuckerberg. “The FBI basically came to us [and] was like, ‘Hey… you should be on high alert. We thought that there was a lot of Russian propaganda in 2016 election. There’s about to be some kind of dump similar to that.'”
The next day, October 14, 2020, The New York Post runs its explosive story revealing the business dealings of President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter. Every single fact in it was accurate.
And yet, within hours, Twitter and other social media companies censor the NY Post article, preventing it from spreading and, more importantly, undermining its credibility in the minds of many Americans.
While the FBI’s warnings of a Russian hack-and-leak operation relating to Hunter Biden’s laptop was based on outdated intel, the laptop in its possession was chuck full of incriminating information about Hunter, and his father, the then-Democrat candidate for president.
“Hunter Biden earned *tens of millions* of dollars in contracts with foreign businesses, including ones linked to China’s government, for which Hunter offered no real work,” Shellenberger wrote, linking to a video of investigative journalist Peter Schweizer summing up the alleged Biden family corruption and illegalities. The Twitter files show that the FBI had no reason to be focusing on a Russian “hack and leak” operation:
Exasperated octogenarian kills African immigrant in Charleville-Mézières
On Sunday December 11, an octogenarian was indicted in Charleville-Mézières for the murder of a young African immigrant. He is said to have shot the young man two days earlier, because he could no longer stand the incivilities he had suffered for years.
According to French daily Le Figaro, the events took place two days earlier, on Friday December 9, in a working-class neighbourhood of this town in north-eastern France. That day, Hocine Abdellaoui, 82, a retired worker and former member of the Commandos Marine, shot Mahamadou Cissé, 21, with a .22 Long Rifle, the public prosecutor in Reims told the media.
The Commandos Marine is the Special Operation Forces (SOF) of the French Navy, and Abdellaoui had participated on the side of France in the Algerian war.
The suspect was arrested in the aftermath by the police, under difficult conditions, since he took refuge in his home with his weapon, pointed it at the police officers who had come to apprehend him, before surrendering in extremis after the usual summons. His home was searched shortly after his arrest, the prosecutor’s office said.
In police custody, the suspect admitted the facts and explained that he had shot his young neighbour out of “exasperation”, because the victim and his gang had been smoking cannabis and consuming alcohol, blocking doors and adopting a behaviour that was “anxiety-provoking” for the neighbourhood. This had been going on for 9 years.
The suspect said that this explosion of anger, which had been suppressed for too long, had occurred when, on his way home from his usual game of pétanque, he had been insulted and harassed by the victim and his group, who had prevented him from returning to his home.
The victim was known to the police for two convictions for contempt and rebellion, but not for drug offences, the prosecutor said. The suspect, previously unknown to the police, was charged with “murder, possession of an illegal weapon and violence with a weapon against a...
New Documents Reveal Alleged Epstein Victim Claimed To Have Copies Of ‘Blackmail’ Sex Tapes He Made Of Associates
Expressed desire to “walk away from this” after threats to her safety
An alleged victim of the deceased elite pedophile Jeffrey Epstein has claimed that she has digital copies of ‘blackmail’ sex tapes Epstein made of his associates.
Not one of Epstein’s ‘clients’ has been named since his mysterious death or during the sex trafficking trial of Ghislaine Maxwell, yet unsealed documents from Virginia Giuffre’s lawsuit against Maxwell have revealed that another accuser, Sarah Ransome (pictured above earlier this year at Maxwell’s sentencing), says she stashed away in secret locations copies of sordid tapes recorded by Epstein.
An email from Ransome reads “When my friend had sexual intercourse with [redacted] and [redacted], sex tapes were in fact filmed on each occasion by Jeffrey,”
The email, apparently addressed to New York Post reporter Maureen Callahan, continues “Thank God she managed to get ahold of some footage of the filmed sex tapes which clearly identify the faces of [redacted] and [redacted] having sexual intercourse with her. Frustratingly enough Epstein was not seen in any of the footage but he was clever like that.”
“I will be more than willing to swear under oath and testify in court over these sex tapes,” Ransome further declared, adding that she had told someone close to her where to find the back up copies of the videos “in case anything happens to me before the footage is released.”
In the email, released after a judge ordered documents to be unsealed last month, Ransome also claims that the friend who provided her with the footage was “humiliated” by police after she attempted to expose the crimes, and then a redacted authority “heavily intimidated her, roughed her up,” and forced her to keep quiet.
Ransome also notes that her friend was “1000% certain that the FBI did a cover-up” and that someone, again redacted, had threatened to kill her. She also suggested that the lives of those close to her were in danger and that the CIA was hacking her communications.
In a further email to the reporter, Ransome suddenly seemed to lose interest in being involved, stating that she would “like to retract everything I have said to you and walk away from...
