Al-Arabiya slams Linda Sharia Sarsour as terror-tied Muslim Brotherhood extremist

Linda Sarsour is an extremist who has “roots in [the] Muslim Brotherhood,” according to an English-language feature on Al-Arabiya, the Saudi Arabia based news channel. The article published in idiomatic English on Sunday accused the Brotherhood of “shaping the thoughts of American activist Linda Sarsour, [which resulted in] her declaring her ‘Jihad’ against US President Donald Trump.”

The unprecedented article linked her to others whom it also labeled extremists, and insinuated that the Brotherhood and groups it is allied with, including Hamas, are seeking to infiltrate the US.

The article comes in the context of Saudi Arabia’s attempt to cement relations with the Trump administration, and its ongoing conflict with Qatar and Islamist groups.

Written by Huda al-Saleh, the article sought to expose what it called “details of calls to attack Trump by US ‘Muslim Sisters’ allied to the Brotherhood.” The article began by noting that two Muslim women, Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, were recently elected to the US Congress.

However, “those sponsoring and supporting the two Muslim women to reach the US Congress adopted a tactic to infiltrate through their immigrant and Black minority communities in general,” insinuating that Muslim Brotherhood activists sought to drum up support for the Democratic candidates.

“The Democrats battle against Republican control of the US Congress led to an alliance with political Islamic movements in order to restore their control on [sic] government.” The piece asserted that the Brotherhood and “all movements of political Islam” are also tied to fighting against sanctions on Iran.

Al-Arabiya then singled out Sarsour as an example of an activist who has “appeared on the public scene” over the last decade and has problematic connections. It claimed that she became a familiar face at the White House during the Obama administration, appearing at seven meetings and that she received a “hero of change” award from Obama in 2012.

“The paradox here is that the description of the ‘Obama’ award is similar to the title of Youth and Change, the first book taught by Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, the spiritual leader of Hamas, the military arm of the Muslim Brotherhood in Palestine.” The actual title of the Obama award was “Champion of Change.”

The article then looked at Sarsour’s background, noting that she was the president of the Arab American Association of New York. Al-Arabiya asserted that it was “created by Palestinian Ahmed Jaber, a member of the Qatar International Foundation.” Saudi Arabia is currently embroiled in a major dispute with Qatar, and has accused the Persian Gulf emirate of funding the Brotherhood. The article claimed that the association was investigated “for its links to terrorism and extremism, especially its links with...

The U.S. may not 'believe' in climate change. But we're the only one doing something about it

These days, saying you care about the environment is far more important than actually doing something about it.

In a selfless effort to save the planet, Legoland theme parks are banning plastic straws. The 75 billion plastic bricks Lego sells annually, however, are here to stay.

"Like many of our guests, we are concerned about the negative environmental impact associated with the disposal of plastic straws," CEO Nick Varney of Merlin Entertainments, which operates the parks, stated in a press release. "It is something we can act on immediately as we continue to assess how we minimize the use of plastics within our business."

The largest Legoland park includes 42 million plastic Lego bricks, but thankfully there won’t be any plastic straws. Those might harm Gaia.

'Belief' without action is useless

Our attitude toward the environment is an odd one. Activists will praise Legoland for their anti-straw PR campaign, but few will ask them to discontinue the little bricks that their business was built upon.

It seems every other week, we’re subjected to another warning that the planet is minutes from destruction thanks to climate change. Despite these apocalyptic predictions, saying that you care about the environment is far more important than doing something about it.

Claiming that you “believe” in climate change is useless without action.

The G20 summit in Argentina was just the latest example of praising talk over action. Every country signed on to a “nonbinding communiqué” that promised to “continue to tackle climate change, while promoting sustainable development and economic growth.” Every country but the U.S., that is.

Why are their emissions still rising?

Nineteen nations “believe” in climate change. How are they backing up their statement of faith?

China was praised for signing on to the Paris Climate Agreement and in Argentina reaffirmed its commitment to controlling greenhouse gas emissions. Last year, however, China increased those emissions by 1.7 percent.

India, the fourth largest source for CO2, saw their emissions grow by 4.6 percent in 2017. Luckily for them, they too were praised for signing that “nonbinding communiqué.”

Overall, the European Union raised their CO2 output by 1.5 percent.

France, home of the Paris Agreement, is leading the diplomatic effort to save the planet. They increased their greenhouse gas emissions by 3.6 percent.

Pollution in France will likely rise further this year from the burning cars alone. French President Emmanuel Macron announced a sharp increase in gas and diesel taxes last month. This sparked the largest riots seen in Paris in nearly 50 years as yellow-vested citizens blockaded roadways, burned vehicles and damaged artwork and infrastructure.

Maybe we care more than they do

If the nations paying lip service to climate change aren’t meeting their goals, imagine how poorly the oil-drilling, coal-mining Americans must be doing. President Donald Trump was pilloried for withdrawing from the Paris Agreement and for being only G20 leader who refused to sign the climate change statement in Argentina.

From 2016 to 2017, U.S. greenhouse gas emissions decreased by 2.7 percent. Emissions from large power plants declined 4.5 percent since 2016, and nearly 20 percent since 2011. All without signing a piece of paper in Paris or...

Dick’s May Have To Close Stores Due To Anti-Gun Decisions

by Tom Knighton
I’ve written more about Dick’s Sporting Goods in 2018 than I ever thought I would. When the year started, we thought the company would have gotten the message that taking anti-gun stances wasn’t conducive to profits, but it didn’t.

So Dick’s doubled down after Parkland and purged the rest of the AR-15s from its stores and then instituted a discriminatory policy against legal adults.

And it’s biting it right in the kiester, too.
In remarks made to the Goldman Sachs Retailing Conference and first reported by the Washington Free Beacon, CEO Edward Stack explained that the 3.9 percent decline in the company’s sales during the third quarter could be partially attributed to its ban on the sale of assault-style rifles and on the sale of all firearms to customers under 21 years old — both of which were implemented in the wake of the Parkland shooting in February.

“Well I think it’s definitely a factor, and it’s nothing that we didn’t anticipate,” Stack said of the sales downturn during the call. “As we put out kind of our guidance for the year and our earnings guidance for the year, we knew this would happen when — we’ve made some decisions on firearms in the past and we’ve had a pretty good idea of what these consequences were going to be. We felt that was absolutely the right thing to do. We would do the same thing again if we had a mulligan, so to speak, to do it again.”

In addition to the firearm-purchasing restrictions, Dick’s also hired a number of Washington, D.C. lobbyists in May to advocate for more-stringent gun-control regulations. Taken together, the restrictions and the lobbying effort led the National Shooting Sports Foundation to expel Dick’s and caused a number of major gun manufacturers to sever ties with the retailer — developments that Stack admitted were detrimental to its third-quarter performance.
I’d say, “Who cares?” but the truth is, I do.

Schadenfreude is a kind of caring, right?

Honestly, it couldn’t happen to a...

Judge suggests Justice, State colluded to protect Hillary Clinton in email scandal

A federal judge has raised speculation that Hillary Rodham Clinton and her State Department “colluded” to keep her missing emails secret from the public and courts, an escalation of scrutiny into Obama-era scandal.

Senior District Court Judge Royce C. Lamberth in a new memo also called the Clinton email affair “one of the gravest modern offenses to government transparency.”

In it, he demanded that State and Justice work with Judicial Watch, which has sued in the case, to develop an evidence seeking schedule into whether Clinton sought to avoid the federal Freedom of Information Act by using a private email system in her New York home.

In detailing the new memo from Lamberth, Judicial Watch issued a statement that also highlighted the judge’s concerns with how the current administration is handling the case.

“The historic court ruling raises concerns about the Hillary Clinton email scandal and government corruption that millions of Americans share,” said Judicial Watch Tom Fitton. “Judicial Watch looks forward to conducting careful discovery into the Clinton email issue and we hope the Justice Department and State Department recognize Judge Lamberth’s criticism and help, rather than obstruct, this court-ordered discovery,” he added.

Their FOIA lawsuit is related to the Benghazi terrorist attack.

In their release, Judicial Watch highlighted the following comments in Lamberth’s memo:

"Lamberth ruled:
… the Court ORDERS the parties to meet and confer to plan discovery into (a) whether Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email while Secretary of State was an intentional attempt to evade FOIA; (b) whether the State Department’s attempts to settle this case in late 2014 and early 2015 amounted to bad faith; and (c) whether State has adequately searched for records responsive to Judicial Watch’s requests.
Terming Clinton’s use of her private email system, “one of the gravest modern offenses to government transparency,” Lamberth wrote in his MEMORANDUM OPINION:
… his [President Barack Obama’s] State and Justice Departments fell far short. So far short that the court questions, even now, whether they are acting in good faith. Did Hillary Clinton use her...

Muslim Stabs Professor To Death Because He ‘Insulted Mohammed’

Arrested: Ali R. was arrested at the scene after stabbing Irish university lecturer
John Dowling, 66, to death outside the Leonardo de Vinci university in Paris
  • John Dowling, 66, stabbed to death outside the Leonardo de Vinci university
  • Ali R., 37, was arrested at the scene and has admitted to killing the Irish lecturer
  • The Pakistani national claims Dowling had ‘insulted the Prophet Mohammed'
  • He also confessed he held a personal grudge against Dowling for failing him
An Irish university lecturer stabbed to death by one of his former students had allegedly ‘insulted the Prophet Mohammed', his killer has told French police.

The 66-year-old academic, named locally as John Dowling, was attacked and stabbed 13 times outside the Paris university where he worked on Wednesday.

Ali R., a 37-year-old Pakistani national, has confessed to the killing and told police he held a personal grudge against the teacher after failing his exams last year.

Ali – whose surname has not been disclosed by the French authorities – is due to be indicted for murder in Paris today for the attack outside the Leonardo de Vinci private university in La Defense business district.

Catherine Denis, the Nanterre prosecutor involved in the case, said Ali harboured an ‘obsessive resentment’ against the university for kicking him out in September 2017.

‘He came to France two years ago to join the management school, but did not pass his first year,’ she said.

‘Since then he had been returning to the college, and had become unwanted to the point that he was not allowed in any more.’

CCTV footage shows Mr Dowling chatting calmly with Ali at around midday, before the attacker took out a steak knife and plunged it into the Irishman’s throat, and then...

ICE ROUNDS UP 150 ILLEGALS IN NEW JERSEY OPERATION

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents have completed another sweep in New Jersey, this time arresting 105 illegal aliens which will have all the usual suspects yowling like scalded cats.

ICE made the announcement on Friday and noted that 80 percent of those taken into custody had criminal records and their removal from the streets – while depriving Democrats of voters – will help to make Americans safer.

The completion of the operation comes just over a week after New Jersey officials announced a new rule limiting police cooperation with the agency tasked with enforcing federal immigration laws.

Via NJ.com, “ICE slams N.J. over new rules limiting when cops can turn over unauthorized immigrants”:
New Jersey’s attorney general unveiled a broad new directive Thursday limiting when local police can ask someone’s immigration status and turn unauthorized immigrants over to federal officials for deportation.
Standing in the shadow of the Statue of Liberty in Liberty State Park in Jersey City, Attorney General Gurbir Grewal said the new rules — called the Immigrant Trust Directive — are designed to improve relations between local police and immigrant communities.
The new rules will draw “a bright line” between federal immigration officials and local police at a time when immigrants are growing more fearful of deportation and federal crackdowns on illegal immigration, Grewal said.
“No law-abiding resident of this great state should live in fear that a routine traffic stop by local police will result in his or her deportation from this country,” Grewal said.
Officials with the federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency slammed the attorney general for rules they say will hinder ICE and undermine public safety.

But that didn’t stop ICE from doing its job.

Via ICE’s official website, “ICE arrests 105 in New Jersey operation targeting criminal aliens and public safety threats”:

Four individuals in the country illegally who have Interpol warrants based on crimes they committed in their home countries were among 105 foreign nationals taken into custody during a five-day operation conducted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) last week in New Jersey. The operation, which was spearheaded by ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO), targeted at-large criminal aliens, illegal re-entrants and other immigration violators and was supported by ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP) New Jersey Field Office.
Of those arrested during the operation, 80 percent had prior criminal convictions and/or pending criminal charges.
These individuals will go through removal proceedings before an Immigration Judge or for those under a final order of removal, arrangements will be made to remove them from...
