Citing FBI Misconduct, Top Republican Believes Mueller’s Case Against Flynn Will Be Thrown Out

A day before fired FBI Director James Comey (shown above right) is set to again testify behind closed doors with House Republicans, a party leader is predicting that the case of special counsel Robert Mueller (above left) against ex-National Security Adviser Michael Flynn will soon be thrown out of court.

California Republican Rep. Darrell Issa told Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures” that the FBI had “tricked” Flynn into not having a lawyer and had improperly “post-dated” documents to “morph” them into critical evidence against him.

He promised Comey would face tough questioning about the episode.

“Tomorrow is going to be a very different day for Comey, particularly in light of what we’ve learned — the misconduct during the Flynn investigation was all about, thanks to a judge that demanded to understand what had happened,” Issa told host Maria Bartiromo, referring to U.S. District Judge Emmet G. Sullivan’s order last week that led Mueller to turn over key documents in the case.

He continued, “I would not be surprised a bit if the conviction of Flynn is overturned, because of the Justice Department and FBI’s misconduct — and that in fact, we go potentially all the way to the Supreme Court, with new protections — when the FBI and the Department of Justice lies to someone and tricks them into making statements, and then charges them with a lie they entrapped them in … This kind of conduct we haven’t seen in a long time.”

In explosive court documents filed last week by Flynn’s legal team, it was revealed that FBI agents in his case deliberately did not instruct Flynn that any false statements he made could constitute a crime, and decided not to “confront” him directly about anything he said that contradicted their knowledge of his wiretapped communications with former Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak.

A memo written by then-FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe stated that he called Flynn and “explained that I thought the quickest way to get this done was to have a conversation between [Flynn] and the agents only … I further stated that...

WaPo Reporter: FBI and CIA Sources Say They Doubt Major Dossier Allegation

But amazingly, the Post has never reported this bombshell. Can anyone say media bias?
  • A Pulitzer Prize-winning Washington Post reporter recently claimed CIA and FBI sources told the newspaper they do not believe the Steele dossier’s allegations about Michael Cohen are accurate.
  • “We’ve talked to sources at the FBI and the CIA and elsewhere — they don’t believe that ever happened,” said Greg Miller, a national security reporter for WaPo.
  • The dossier alleges Cohen visited Prague in August 2016 to arrange payments to Russia-linked hackers who stole emails from Democrats.

One of the most prominent allegations in the Steele dossier is that Michael Cohen visited Prague during the 2016 campaign to pay off Russia-linked hackers who stole emails from Democrats — the claim fueled speculation ever since the dossier was published that the Trump campaign actively colluded with Russians to influence the election.

But according to a top national security reporter for The Washington Post, FBI and CIA sources told reporters for the newspaper they doubt the allegations, which British spy Christopher Steele leveled.

“We’ve talked to sources at the FBI and the CIA and elsewhere — they don’t believe that ever happened,” Greg Miller, a two-time Pulitzer Prize winning reporter, said at an event in October that aired Saturday on C-SPAN.

WaPo has not reported that bombshell information, and Miller himself did not reveal the detail in his recent book, The Apprentice: Trump, Russia, and the Subversion of American Democracy. It is unclear why.

The Cohen claim is significant to the debate over the dossier, which has not had any of its core collusion allegations proved or disproved in the nearly two years since its publication.

Steele claimed in the dossier that Cohen and three associates visited Prague in August 2016 to meet with Kremlin officials to discuss how to make “deniable cash payments” to hackers in order to cover up “Moscow’s secret liaison with the TRUMP team.”

Cohen’s alleged Prague visit captured attention largely because...

Charge Mueller with obstruction? Damning evidence may have destroyed to protect Deep State

When special counsel Robert Mueller was first appointed more than a year ago, critics pointed out that there was no justification for it — that it was all political — because there was no indication of any crime. “Collusion” with Russia, if it even had happened, is not illegal.

Mueller raised eyebrows again when he brought prosecutors on board who had blown cases in the past by inventing evidence, such as the “corruption” case against former U.S. Sen. Ted Stevens, R-Alaska.

Critics chimed in again after Mueller hired a number of prosecutors with known connections to Democratic politicians including Hillary Clinton and President Obama, several of whom actually donated to their campaigns.

Throughout his investigation into alleged nefarious behavior surrounding POTUS Trump and his 2016 campaign, Mueller has done much to warrant the criticism he has received. And now he’s under fire again for something so obviously wrong it defies belief that he’s still able to continue his investigation.

As noted by Debra Heine at PJ Media, the Justice Department’s Office of Inspector General could not recover text messages from the iPhones of fired FBI official Peter Strzok and his one-time paramour, FBI lawyer Lisa Page, during their time as members of Mueller’s special counsel team because they were scrubbed.

Fox News added that the iPhones had been given to Strzok and Page by Mueller but were then cleaned by a records officer after both were dismissed from the team, according to a new report from the DoJ IG’s office.

In regards to Strzok’s phone, investigators for the IG’s office were told that it “had been reset to factory settings and was reconfigured for the new user to whom the device was issued.” The records officer for the special counsel said she had “determined it did not contain records that needed to be retained,” and as such wrote in her records log, “No substantive texts, notes or reminders.”

Quoting the report, Fox News noted further that the officer told the IG’s investigators that she did “not recall whether there were any text messages on” Strzok’s phone, though “she made an identical log entry for an iPhone she reviewed from another employee on the same day that she...

3 Illegal Aliens Indicted In Conspiracy To Kill Whistleblower

SAVANNAH, GA – Three men, all illegal alien residents of the United States, have been indicted for plotting the murder of a whistleblower who exposed a scheme to fraudulently employ other illegals.

Brothers Pablo Rangel-Rubio, 49, and Juan Rangel-Rubio, 42, both residents of Rincon, Ga., and Higinio Perez-Bravo, 49, of Savannah, were charged in a federal indictment unsealed today in U.S. District Court in Savannah, announced Southern District of Georgia U.S. Attorney Bobby L. Christine.

Pablo Rangel-Rubio and Juan Rangel-Rubio are charged with Conspiracy to Retaliate Against a Witness; Conspiracy to Kill a Witness; Conspiracy to Conceal, Harbor and Shield Illegal Aliens; and Money Laundering Conspiracy. Pablo Rangel-Rubio and Perez-Bravo are charged with Conspiracy to Commit Murder for Hire. Pablo Rangel-Rubio also is charged with three counts of Money Laundering Transactions Over $10,000.

The investigation began with the Aug. 19, 2017 death of Eliud Montoya, 41, who was found shot to death near his home in Garden City, Ga.. Two days before his death, Montoya, a naturalized United States citizen employed by a Savannah-area tree service, had filed a formal complaint with the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission alleging that Pablo Rangel-Rubio ran a scheme to employ illegal aliens at the tree service, profiting from the company while also skimming pay from the illegal workers. Four months earlier, Montoya also had reported the scheme to...
