Roger Stone Files Motion: Alleges Special Counsel’s Office Released Unsealed Indictment To CNN

CNN obtained Roger Stone’s indictment from someone allegedly in the Special Counsel’s office hours before it had been unsealed by the court, thus allowing the news outlet to stage a camera crew outside his home and lie in wait until armed FBI agents arrested him, according to a motion filed by Stone’s lawyers Wednesday morning.

The evidence appears to rest on when the indictment was unsealed by the court.

According to the motion, the clerk’s office “informed counsel for Mr. Stone that the Indictment’s entry into the docket was made on January 25 at 8:55 a.m., more than two- and-a-half-hours after the news reporter sent the “draft” Indictment to counsel, and four hours after the news organization’s camera crew arrived at Mr. Stone’s house to film his arrest on the sealed Indictment.”

Stone could not be immediately reached for comment. Special Counsel’s office could not be immediately reached for comment.

Based on this new evidence, Stone’s attorney’s contend his arrest on Jan. 25, was staged for the CNN crew, which was ready to film the arrest and that someone in the Special Counsel’s office leaked the information.

“What is not par for the course is that a news crew knew the time and place of the arrest, and was “staked out” to watch the arrest unfold, having been provided an unfiled, draft copy of the indictment the Court had ordered sealed,” the motion states.

Timeline of Events in Motion To Show Cause
  • On Jan. 25, armed FBI agents arrested Stone at 6:06 a.m.
  • CNN was staking out the home hours earlier.
  • Stone’s lawyers stated in their motion that at that time “the indictment remained subject to the Court’s Order sealing it from public disclosure.”
  • However, by 4:58 a.m. the CNN news crew and truck arrived at “Mr. Stone’s residence and set up a camera on the street in front of Mr. Stone’s house, obviously awaiting his arrest. The FBI arrived while the camera crew was on the street.”
  • By 6:11 a.m., “prior to Mr. or Mrs. Stone calling counsel, a reporter for the same news outlet as the camera crew called counsel and informed him that Mr. Stone had been arrested.”
  • At 6:22 a.m., the same reporter sent counsel a text message attaching a draft copy of the still sealed indictment.” Stone’s lawyers referred the courts to Exhibit 1, showing the text messages from the reporter to the lawyers.
  • Exhibit One

ILLEGAL ALIEN GRANTED ‘TEMPORARY PROTECTED STATUS’ MURDERED MAN IN PENNSYLVANIA

LANCASTER COUNTY, PA – A Lancaster County judge Wednesday scolded Jose Ferrufino for a “total lack of remorse” before imposing a life sentence plus 15 to 35 years for the murder of a Providence Township man he suspected of having an affair with his wife.

A Lancaster County jury last month found Ferrufino, 50, guilty of killing 35-year-old Hugo Garcia-Hernandez on March 22, 2017, rejecting his claim of innocence.

Garcia-Hernandez, of 124 Pennsy Road, died from a single shot to the heart after Ferrufino and two other men broke down his bedroom door before 2 in the morning and attempted to bind him with zip ties, according to trial testimony.

Ferrufino, a fencing contractor formerly of Manheim Township, testified he was asleep when the killing happened.

Judge David Ashworth at the sentencing said a letter he received from Ferrufino that reasserted his innocence and blamed others shows a “total lack of remorse” and “arrogance.”

Ashworth called the point-blank shooting a premeditated assassination.

“You felt you had the right to do what you did,” said Ashworth as Ferrufino, in green prison garb, stood before him. “Mr. Ferrufino, this is a nation of laws. This is not a nation of who can...

Don’t Believe the Fake News. Tax Cuts for Everyday Americans Are Real.

The left-leaning media would have you believe that the 2017 tax cuts were nothing of the sort. Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., recently tweeted that average refunds are down, calling the president’s tax cut a “middle-class tax hike.”

This is simply the latest episode in a long-running campaign to demagogue tax cuts that let the vast majority of Americans keep more of their hard-earned money.

Some of the biggest cuts are actually being enjoyed by the lowest-income Americans. A typical family of four got a $2,917 tax cut this year.

So what’s the complaint about?

In an early sample of tax returns, the IRS has reported that average refunds are down $170 from last year and that they hadn’t changed much from 2017, the year before.

But this is not relevant, for two reasons.

First, the sample of tax returns cited by the IRS is very small, and some analysts expect refunds will actually go up this year.

But second, and more importantly, tax refunds have nothing to do with the size of anyone’s tax cut. A refund is what you get back if you’ve paid too much in taxes throughout the year. Your tax cut is the drop in total taxes you owed to Uncle Sam last year. The two are not connected.

Employers across the country already gave us our tax cuts by withholding less money from our paychecks every pay period. Americans saw a bump to their paychecks in February 2018.

Of course, withholding is never perfectly accurate, so your refund or tax payment at the end of the year is simply a last-minute adjustment. But that refund does not cancel out the overall bump in take-home pay due to the tax cut.

Do you remember when House Speaker Nancy Pelosi called the tax cuts “monumental, brazen theft,” or when former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers predicted the tax cuts would kill 10,000 people every year? This most recent round of hysteria is just more of the same.

Last year, The Heritage Foundation calculated what Americans across the country can expect from the tax cuts. The average household can expect about $26,000 more in take-home pay over the next 10 years thanks to the tax reform.

Americans benefit twice from the tax cuts—first, by paying less in taxes, and a second time from higher wages generated by a faster-growing economy.

At the end of 2018, workers saw some of the largest wage gains in over 10 years, and unemployment rates remain historically low. Over the next 10 years, because of a larger economy, the...
