‘Socialism,’ A Word Too Honest for 93% of Nets’ Venezuela Reports

Socialism causes “hellish” suffering and desperation for Venezuelans. But there’s been a major failure by the broadcast networks in their coverage of the South American country’s economic collapse.

They’re not mentioning socialism, hardly at all.

The broadcast networks have reported on the hunger, the desperation and the struggle for power in Venezuela, but their reports refused to name the reason and the ideology behind the suffering 93 percent of the time.

The word “socialism” or “socialist” was left out of 93 percent 44 out of 47 reports) about Venezuela. That included stories on ABC, CBS and NBC evening news reports on Venezuela between Feb. 1, 2018, and Feb. 21, 2019. All three of the stories that acknowledged socialism aired on NBC Nightly News.

Even as President Donald Trump spoke out against socialism on Feb. 18, and criticized President Nicolas Maduro, CBS Evening News focused on American protests over a border wall and included only a snippet of Trump’s remarks.

Showing images of protesters shouting “Trump has to go,” Nancy Cordes reported, “As the president spoke out against a Venezuelan dictator, protesters from Newark to Denver said he is the one overstepping his authority.”

Although the evening news programs showed the desperation (including mothers saying “our children are going to die”) ABC, CBS and NBC often failed to expose the connection between socialism and suffering. The situation is so bad that people search through garbage for food, die in hospitals for lack of medicine and many choose to risk their lives by...

PayPal Admits They Collude With The SPLC To Blacklist Conservatives

PayPal CEO Dan Schulman admitted to the Wall Street Journal that they work with the far-left Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) to decide who to blacklist from their platform.

His conversation with the Wall Street Journal came just one day after PayPal banned this reporter from using their platform.

Citing “diversity and inclusion” as the most important values for the company, he lays out their relationship with the SPLC in making blacklisting decisions.

“Businesses need to be a force for good in those values and issues that they believe in. It shouldn’t come from backlash or people taking heat on it, because then it’s in response, as opposed to the definition of who you are and then how you react to the context that you find yourself in,” the CEO of PayPal explained, before stating that 2017’s deadly Unite the Right rally was the catalyst for their blacklisting of conservatives. (This is despite the fact that many of those blacklisted from PayPal, including Gavin McInnes, Laura Loomer, and this reporter have been opposed the rally since day one.)

Schulman, a far-left donor to Hillary Clinton, also discussed the difficulty in finding “the line between free speech and hate,” stating that “nobody teaches it to you in college. Nobody’s defined it in the law.”

So it appears that he chose to go to the SPLC, who were forced to pay an anti-radical Islam activist, who is a Muslim, millions for defaming him as an anti-Muslim extremist.

Schulman explains:

BREAKING: Trump Vows to Veto Anti-Gun Bills

If you had any doubt before, the White House made it clear today that President Trump will not sign any of the gun control measures promoted by Democrats in Congress. The White House says the two main bills under consideration remain “incompatible with the Second Amendment’s guarantee of an individual right to keep arms.

HR 8 would ban the private sale of firearms in America. HR 1112 would impose as much as a 20-day waiting period before picking up a new firearm. We’ve written about the potential of the ban on private sales (otherwise known as universal background checks) previously. Luis Valdes worried that it would pass into law. I expressed skepticism that it would make it to Trump’s desk.

The White House made it clear today that President Donald Trump will veto the measure if it gets that far.

From The Hill:
The White House on Monday issued a statement warning that President Trump would veto proposed legislation to enhance background checks for gun purchases if it passes the House and Senate.

The legislation in question, H.R. 8 and H.R. 1112, would require universal background checks and close a so-called Charleston loophole that the shooter used in the 2015 massacre at a historic black church to buy a gun. One of the measures is a bipartisan bill, co-sponsored by Reps. Mike Thompson (D-Calif.) and Pete King (R-N.Y.).

Both bills are expected to pass the House along party lines with limited support from Republicans when they vote on it this week. If the bills pass in the House, they would still need to be sent to the Republican-controlled Senate for approval before reaching Trump.

The White House announced it opposed the bills for violating Second Amendment rights.

“The extensive regulation required by H.R. 8 is incompatible with the Second Amendment’s guarantee of an individual right to keep...
