Irish academic calls for the term 'Anglo-Saxon' to be DROPPED from modern speech because it has 'links with white supremacists'

Erase A People's Identity, Erase A People.

  • Academic says 'Anglo-Saxon' is used by white supremacists and calls for a ban
  • Mary Rambaran-Olm said people in early England did not use term themselves
  • She says that previous objections to the term Dark Ages sets a precedent

The term Anglo-Saxon is 'bound up with white supremacy' and should be replaced with 'early English', academics have argued.

Anglo-Saxon traditionally refers to groups from Germany, Denmark and the Netherlands who settled in Britain at the end of Roman rule.

However, early medieval England specialist Mary Rambaran-Olm, an independent scholar and author, claimed the term is used by white supremacists to refer to white British people and should be banned.

The academic – raised in Canada and now based in Ireland – says previous objections to the term Dark Ages sets a precedent.

She told The Times: 'Generally, white supremacists use the term to make some sort of connection to their heritage (which is inaccurate) or to make associations with 'whiteness' but they also habitually misuse it to try and connect themselves to a warrior past.'

Miss Rambaran-Olm said people in early England – or 'Englelond' – did not call themselves Anglo-Saxons but tended to refer to themselves as 'Englisc' or 'Anglecynn'.

The academic said the term became more popular in the 18th and 19th century and was used to link white people to their...

Columbia professor who fled communism RESIGNS, says university is becoming full blown communistic

A Romania-born academic says he recently left his tenured position at Columbia University because the Ivy League school is “on its way toward full blown communism,” according to a Romanian TV interview translated by a Romanian-American immigrant.Prof. Andrei Serban, an award-winning director, complained about the increasing social justice demands he faced in the theater department in the interview, which aired on Romania’s TVR1 Oct. 26. One prominent example he gave: pressure to admit a transgender applicant who auditioned as Juliet from “Romeo and Juliet.”Andy Ionescu, a native Romianian speaker who immigrated to the United States in 1999, told The College Fix in a Twitter message that he translated the interview.

He said it was likely the first time that Serban made his resignation publicly known. Columbia still lists Serban as an active professor. Media relations did not respond to an email from The Fix, and Serban’s department did not return a voicemail. Serban did not respond to an email.

THE TV HOST EXPRESSES INCREDULITY AT MULTIPLE POINTS IN THE INTERVIEW, SEEMINGLY SHOCKED THAT THE AMERICAN HIGHER EDUCATION SYSTEM IS HEADED TOWARD COMMUNISM. SERBAN FLED FROM THE IDEOLOGY, WHICH RULED ROMANIA FOR MUCH OF THE 20TH CENTURY.

Serban says in the interview that after a faculty member retired, the remaining professors in the department were called in to a meeting to discuss a replacement.

It was at this meeting that the dean of the art school told them that there were “too many white professors, too many heterosexual men,” and that it would be best to hire a minority or a woman, or a gay man.

Serban, who was the director of the hiring committee, says that he was told that it could not be someone like him because he is a man that has been “married, a heterosexual man who has children.”

The professor says that he then asked if they could choose a straight white male if the most qualified candidate happened to be so, and was promptly told that they could not. “I felt like I was living under communism again,” he...

Reports: Eric Holder Considers Jumping into 2020 Presidential Primary, Mike Bloomberg Prepares to Run

Former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder is again considering running for the Democrat nomination for president in 2020 after previously ruling out a run, a move that comes as former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg has filed presidential primary paperwork in Alabama signaling he may be a late entrant to the race.

All of this comes as speculation builds that former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, the failed 2016 Democrat presidential nominee, may run again in 2020 as well.

Holder did very publicly flirt with running in 2020 before, even making the rounds to travel to some early presidential states for key speeches, but he ultimately announced earlier this year he would not run. In March 2019, he came out and said he would not be running in 2020 and that he planned to instead focus his efforts on redistricting efforts.

But now, given how weak the rest of the Democrat presidential field is in 2020, and with other top talent showing that the water is definitely still warm, Holder appears to be reconsidering and thinking about getting into the race after all.

Washington Post columnist Eugene Robinson reported late Thursday evening that Holder has been discussing a late entrance into the crowded Democrat field with a handful of close advisers and political consultants:

It gets even more interesting. I hear from a good source that Eric Holder has been consulting strategists about possibly jumping into the Dem presidential race. NYT reports Michael Bloomberg is seriously considering a late entry as well.
3,569 people are talking about this
The news that Holder is reconsidering his decision to bow out on 2020 comes as Bloomberg has filed paperwork in Alabama, which has a Friday filing deadline, to run for president. He has not yet, according to multiple reports, made a decision on whether he will run for president or not, but filing paperwork in Alabama ensures he would have a shot at ballot access there should he mount a national campaign for the Democrat nomination.

Politico reported Thursday night:
Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is preparing to file paperwork to qualify for the Democratic presidential primary in Alabama, ahead of a Friday deadline. The move would be a first step toward a national campaign, though Bloomberg has not made a final decision to run.
Bloomberg aide Howard Wolfson is quoted in the story as well, suggesting that Bloomberg is actively considering jumping into the still-crowded 2020 Democrat...

POLICE: ILLEGAL ALIEN STRANGLED WOMAN TO DEATH IN NEW JERSEY

TRENTON, NJ (NJ.com) – A man used an extension cord to kill his girlfriend Sunday night in a home in Trenton, authorities said.

Pablo Choc-Caal, 20, was arrested and charged with murder and weapons offenses, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo Onofri said in a news statement.

Trenton EMS responded to a medical call at a home on the 700 block of Anderson Street at about 10:45 p.m. and called police to the scene after finding a woman – later identified as Irma Patrona Ic-Maaz, 18 – on the floor of a second-floor bedroom.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Homicide detectives determined the couple got an argument before Choc-Caal used the extension cord to...

Report: Heads Roll over ABC News’ Epstein Coverup—at CBS, for Exposing It

A CBS News staffer believed to have leaked unaired footage of ABC News anchor Amy Robach saying the network quashed a bombshell report on Jeffrey Epstein has been fired, according to a report.

The Huffington Post’s Yashar Ali, citing two sources familiar with the situation, said Thursday morning that CBS News has “fired the staffer in question.”

“This comes after ABC informed CBS that they had determined who accessed the footage of Amy Robach expressing her frustrations about the Epstein story,” noted Ali.

The development comes after Project Veritas released an undercover video Tuesday in which Robach, co-anchor of Good Morning America, is seen telling an ABC News producer that a witness brought forth damning information regarding Epstein, but the network spiked the report. She said the expose specifically implicated former President Bill Clinton and Britain’s Prince Andrew.

“I’ve had this interview with Virginia [Guiffre],” Robach said in the tape of the alleged Epstein victim. “We would not put it on the air. I was told ‘Who’s Jeffrey Epstein. No one knows who that is. This is a stupid story.’”

“The Palace found out that we had her whole allegations about Prince Andrew and threatened us a million different ways,” the anchor continued.

“I had it all three years ago,” she added.

Guiffre has long alleged she was delivered to Prince Andrew for paid sex as a teenager. The jet-setting middle son of Queen Elizabeth II was a longtime friend of the financier who killed himself while awaiting trial on sex-trafficking charges. But the prince strenuously denies any knowledge of criminal behavior by Epstein and has described himself as “appalled” by allegations from many women who accused Epstein of sexual abuse. Among them is Giuffre. She has said she was a 15-year-old working at President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club when she was recruited to perform sex acts on Epstein. Giuffre said in a sworn affidavit that she was flown on Epstein’s private planes to...
