60 Minutes’ Scarily Ignorant Interview of Barack Obama

Interviewer Scott Pelley of 60 Minutes supplied the ignorance. He appears to have no more knowledge of what transpired during the past four years than does, say, a Whoopi Goldberg or a Kathy Griffin.

Barack Obama supplied the scare. His solution to make the right half of America as ignorant as the left would do Trotsky proud.

Pelley’s ignorance flared throughout the embarrassingly sycophantic interview, but it reached something of a crescendo with his and Obama’s elaborate discussion on the etiquette of presidential transitions.

While images played of the Obamas welcoming the Trumps to the White House, Obama blathered on about the “set of traditions” that presidents have always followed of instructing various agencies “to cooperate” with the incoming administration. The outgoing president, Obama pontificated, “owes the new president a chance to do their best.”

Pelley nodded approvingly, perhaps even unaware of what was going on behind the scenes while the always gracious Obama was greeting the brutish Donald Trump. On the very day at the very moment Trump was being inaugurated, National Security Advisor Rice sent to “self” a peculiar email. It read:

President Obama began the conversation by stressing his continued commitment to ensuring that every aspect of this issue is handled by the Intelligence and law enforcement communities “by the book.” The President stressed that he is not asking about, initiating or instructing anything from a law enforcement perspective. He reiterated that our law enforcement team needs to proceed as it normally would by the book.

Rice was trying to absolve Obama of signing off on the coup then underway to sabotage Trump’s presidency on the back of the Russia collusion hoax. Unfortunately for Obama, Rice proved to be just as clumsy and obvious as she was on the fateful Sunday after the terrorist assault on the Benghazi consulate when she served up the same “the video caused it” lie on five morning TV news shows.

Senators Charles Grassley and Lindsey Graham saw right through Rice’s smokescreen. “Despite your claim that President Obama repeatedly told Mr. Comey to proceed ‘by the book,’” the good senators responded to Rice upon discovering the email, “substantial questions have arisen about whether officials at the FBI, as well as at the Justice Department and the State Department, actually did proceed ‘by the book.’”

There is no “book” that justifies what the FBI’s Comey and pals did in the weeks immediately following this meeting while Obama was still president. The next day, January 6, 2017, the conspirators released the declassified version of the Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA).

Commissioned a month earlier by Obama, the ICA was John Brennan’s way of welcoming the president-elect to Washington. Titled “Assessing Russian Activities and Intentions in Recent US Elections,” the report concluded that Putin “ordered” an influence campaign, the goal of which was “to undermine public faith in the US democratic process, denigrate Secretary Clinton, and harm her...

So What is John Brennan So Worried About?

Given the uncertainties of Donald Trump’s actions as he faces a White House exit, the possible declassification of certain documents has the former CIA director sweating.

Former CIA Director John Brennan is apparently so worried that Donald Trump might release certain classified intelligence that he suggested this week that Vice President Mike Pence and the cabinet remove Trump via the 25th amendment.

Brennan appeared this week on both CNN and MSNBC to spread alarm about what Trump might do as he continues to contest the election results and appoints new people at Defense, NSA (and possibly CIA) who may do his bidding.

Brennan warned on CNN that it was “very, very worrisome” that Trump “is just very unpredictable now … like a cornered cat — tiger. And he’s going to lash out.”

Brennan told MSNBC he was worried that Trump has called for the “wholesale declassification of intelligence in order to further his own political interests.”

Whom would he lash out at and what classified documents might Brennan be referring to?

The CIA’s point man at The Washington Post, David Ignatius, has provided the answer:

“President Trump’s senior military and intelligence officials have been warning him strongly against declassifying information about Russia that his advisers say would compromise sensitive collection methods and anger key allies.

An intense battle over this issue has raged within the administration in the days before and after the Nov. 3 presidential election. Trump and his allies want the information public because they believe it would rebut claims that Russian President Vladimir Putin supported Trump in 2016. That may sound like ancient history, but for Trump it remains ground zero — the moment when his political problems began.”

Protecting “sources and methods” is a red herring. They can be redacted from a classified document. It’s the content of these files that has Brennan extremely nervous as they might reveal Brennan’s role in the Russiagate scandal. Of course, Brennan invoked the old trope of “national security” when it appears it’s his own security he’s worried about.

As we noted at a similar juncture in March 2018 (in “Former CIA Chief Brennan Running Scared”), Brennan’s foremost worry — then, as now — was that Trump was about to expose him to the disgrace that befell ex-FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe for malfeasance in connection with Russiagate.

The president had just fired McCabe for repeatedly lying, and Brennan had good reason to worry. That was before the true extent of the roles McCabe, his boss, former FBI Director James Comey, and Brennan played in the WMD-style fabrication of “Russiagate” had became more fully understood.

Brennan landed on his MSNBC perch as a paid commentator on Feb. 2, 2018 and was riding high with adulation from the likes of former UN Ambassador Samantha Power, who publicly warned Trump that it is “not a good idea to piss off John Brennan.”

Dr. Scott Atlas, a leading member of President Trump’s coronavirus task force, announced Sunday that “The only way this stops is if people rise up.”

Atlas was responding to the decree of a new lockdown by Michigan Democrat Governor Gretchen Whitmer.

Atlas tweeted out a thread with Whitmer’s announcement, and a graphic made by The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services highlighting what will be allowed to remain open and what will be forced to closed.

Atlas encouraged people of Michigan to “rise up”, and added “You get what you accept. #FreedomMatters #StepUp”:

President Trump won this election in a landslide. It’s going to be irrefutable. Patriots are coming forward everyday, all day, faster than we can collect their information with testimony they’re willing to give under oath about how their votes were stolen and how the machines operated.

Powell told Fox Business’s Lou Dobbs that she’s received sworn statements under penalty of perjury and other evidence calling into question the Dominion voting machines.

I can hardly wait to put forth all the evidence that we have collected on Dominion, starting with the fact that it was created to produce altered voting results in Venezuela for Hugo Chavez and then shift internationally to manipulate votes for purchase in other countries, including this one.

It was funded by money from Venezuela and Cuba and China has a role in it also, so if you want to talk about foreign election interference we certainly have it now. We have staggering statistical evidence, we have staggering testimony from witnesses including one who was personally in briefings when all this was discussed and planned beginning with Hugo Chavez and how it was designed there. Then saw it happening in this country.

She is persuaded that in every single state that inexplicably stopped counting votes on election night that Dominion machines were “updated.”

As soon as the states shut down on election night and stopped counting? Those were the states where the most egregious problems occurred.
